Hi everyone! This cruise still feels SOOOO far away, not sure if I can survive it :)

Welcome Tami!

Hi guys,

Count us in. Myself (39), DH (41), DS (8), and DD (5).

Along with DB40, DSIL38, DNephew12, and Dneice10.

Also, DM71, and DAunt 68

I'll be paying the cruise off in two weeks and am getting really excited. Thanks Uncle Sam, for the rebate!

Hi Castaway Jp, Tami and Jeast, welcome to the thread. I'm not sure how much you are wanting to get involved but we are hoping to meet up sometime. Bambilin is very kindly organising this for us. Some of us have also ordered lime green wristbands from Ebay so we will be able to recognise each other, there is a link on page 20 #291.

Wow our once small group is growing by the day! I wonder what has happened to the original poster Mommykeg and some of the others.

Are we still going ahead with the Fish Extender thing? Dana did you have a list of who was joining in or was that for something else?

Welcome to those that have joined us recently.

I have an Excel spreadsheet of everyone who joined this thread and it also denotes those who have said they wanted to participate in the Fish Extenders so far.
If anyone wants me to email the spreadsheet to them just PM me.

I hope everyone is having a nice Memorial Day weekend. It's finally hot here in New Jersey:beach:

Hi! I noticed that your daughter is close to my daughter's age, same interests and your are near Spokane??!! We are also flying out of Spokane!
I am so excited. Does anyone know how long it takes to become certified to scuba??:yay:

Hi Tami,
I became certified on vacation in Mexico, it took 3 days plus a written test. I dont know how long it would take for you locally here in the US. I was certified through PADI if that helps. Good luck.

This is a family reunion trip for me, so I'll be spending a lot of time with family. That being said, I think it would be fun to get together if the timing works out. Keep me in the loop!

Hi all
I have been looking back through this thread trying to find details of Chankanaab park. After reading some trip reports, we think that Excaret may be a little far to travel now.
I remember that some of you have already booked the dolphin encounter but for the life of me I can't find the post with the details.
Any info, anyone?
Sue

Hi Sue,
DH is doing the Royal Swim at 11am. We booked directly through dolphindiscovery dot com. We plan on spending the day there, lunch & swimming, etc. The site is easy to use and they will refund you if the ship doesnt come in b/c of weather. DS and I will just watch and hopefully be able to snap some pictures. Admission into the park is included for DH with the swim, but DS and I will just have to pay.
Good luck,
Dana

Wow our group has grown! Life here in sunny So. Texas has been hectic and I haven't checked in for awhile. SWA has their fares posted through the end of Oct. and we are anxiously waiting for them to extend just a couple of more weeks so we can get that airfare.:worried: Coastie fam in Houston, TX....keep your eyes on the SWA website! Should post air in next few days. SWA is one of the very few remaining airlines who are not charging for luggage. Last year we packed our clothes in vacuum sealed travel bags and when we packed up to leave our wonderful Stateroom host Philip brought us a small vacuum to reseal the bags, the bags we purchased were not very good quality however, we went with cheap and had one of the larger bags rip at the seam, but Philip repaired our bag and we were able to use it! Helped with space and weight! Just 5 1/2 months to go!

We got our shore excursions nailed down last week, PM me if anyone is interested in the website we booked from. We got some great deals and group rates, we could easily add a few more. Doing the Dolphin swim , a few are doing the zip line tour, Snorkeling in Key West, riding waverunners around Grand Cayman! Phew I'm tired....good thing we have days at sea to rest :yay:

I would like your website for excursions. I haven't posted enough so I can't PM anyone. Do you pay for yourself at the Park in Cozumel at the entrance. My DH isn't swimming with the dolphins just myself and DD.

I am still looking for Odhrty. Haven't seen any posts by her and would like our girls to chat. I also think she is near us.

Hi everyone. We just signed up yesterday. My daughter is an only child (age 12 at time of cruise -- b-day is the week before) and would like to meet some friends before the cruise. :cheer2:

19 Sailings until ours!!!!

ooooh I LOVE countng sailings...they go by faster than months or days!

Hi Tami!

My daughter will be 10.5 at the time of the cruise and my son will almost be 12. They are both very independent and outgoing. It would be great for the kids to have some contact before the cruise.

I am not telling my kids until the middle of September - there'd be no living with them!!!! When they know, I will have them post. Disneyday has a daughter, Alice (9) who has done some posting here.

Jeast- it looks like we have kids about the same age so that would be neat for them to meet.
Audie I too am anxiously waiting for SWA to open up flights. PM me if you find they open

<< We are currently accepting air reservations through October 30, 2008. On June 26, we plan to open the schedule for purchase through January 9, 2009. This date is subject to change. Please check back frequently. >>

I found the info here.

Only 3 more weeks! :thumbsup2

OK guys I don't know how we were thinking about doing this but I just can't wait anymore. The past few weeks I have seen so many things I think we be great little gifts for the extender but I haven't bought any because I don't know if I'll have boys or girls in my family. So..........
Is anyone interested in exchanging gifts with me? I prefer to do only kids exchange and not adults. With the new baggage fees I want to minimize packing. My kids will be 9 (DS) and 6 (DD). I would love to find a family with 2 or 3 kids under the age of 10. Any takers?

I have been collecting a few postcards and badges etc for the fish extenders too. I would like to leave something for each family (as long as there aren't too many of us, are there around 10?) on just one day, but I am easy, I'll go along with anything
Sue :)

It is just that the stuff I am finding is either princess or I can choose the route of Cars or Mickey themed stuff. I do have some generic stuff like pirate tattoos and glow sticks

I agree we should start making a move on this. It's summatime and all the beachy, inexpensive, kids stuff is out. I think Dana had a spreadsheet going about the fish extenders. At one time we talked about pairing families off - which I think is a good idea. Maybe we should pair off the ones who are on the list already and then pair off any newcommers as they join. If we end up with an odd number, I'd take an extra family.

What do you guys think?

Ok with me:) It would be a good idea to pair up now then we have longer to collect stuff
