November 12, 2005....7 Night Eastern...Who Else?

OOOOHHHHH The Electric Company! :rotfl: I forgot about them! I have never forgotten the New Zoo Review....anyone remember them too? Why don't they show re-runs of some of these old shows instead of the lame new ones?

New Zoo Review was one of my favorites! Glad they brought back ZOOM...that was worthwhile and educational too!

I was talking to my brother the other day and he clarified for me why we NEVER see any Bugs Bunny, Foghorn Leghorn, Sylvester and Tweety, or Road Runner cartoons.....they are in a major legal battle over the rights and until they clear it up, you'll never see any of the shows or memoribilia from them. My kids have no idea who Bugs Bunny is! Only the best classic cartoon! :cool1:

Ohhhh....forgot another one of my all time favorites I would love to see again...The Banana Splits! Adam Ant, George of the Jungle, and Winnie Witch!

The Banana Splits must have been written by some guys on drugs at the Hannah Barbara studios!.....so weird and off the wall! :confused3 :rotfl2:

My DD loved the Telletubbies when they first were new 8 years ago! They got me through showers, the newspaper, and a few cat naps on the couch (used to work 12 hour night shifts back then.....that was brutal staying up all night! :guilty: )

'ellegant and feminine is henrietta hippo, very wise and very smart is charley the owl, not so smart but lots of heart is freddy the frog, it's quite an unusual thing-the animals talk and sing, with doug and emmy jo every days a different show-it the new zoo review, coming right at you!". :sunny: i always wondered why doug and emmy jo never aged over the years

the electric company-with a then relativly unknown "morgan freeman". we also enjoy watching the videos of pee-wee's playhouse (love laurence fishburn as the cowboy with a jeri curl)-in fact the secret word for the day on embakation day will be "disney cruise", so you may hear us "scream real loud" :rotfl2: .

we are big warner brother's fans-we bought 2 framed and signed peices by chuck jones that hang proudly in our home ("Moulon Duck" and 'The Squweem"). we still have tons of the cartoons running here (they are however edited so you can't see daffy's fase actualy blow off from the rifle shots :guilty: ) and the warner brother's stores are as popular as the disney stores at christmas.

o.k.-here's a couple of obscure ones-"the ghostbusters" (not based on the movie-it had 2 detectives and a guy in a gorilla suit) and "uncle croc's block" with charles nelson riley and mr. smith (from lost in space")-it was a send up of kid's shows (kind of like "uncle al" on "laugh-in")...anyone remember these?

I said the same thing. Flipping channels one day we happened upon him and she fell in love. I tune him out, she learns a thing or two (knows the alphabet and counts to 10 thanks to the purple guy singing silly songs) and I get 30 minutes to take a shower and get dressed in peace! She is only allowed to watch PBS, Noggin and of course Disney Channels when she is allowed to watch tv. There are now things alot worse than Barney out there! :earseek:

We do not flip channels, we go straight to Disney channel. No chance of stumbling across him. As for the 30 min of peace, that is what the Wiggles are for. :teeth:

Some of these cartoons may have been regional. I grew up in southern CA, east LA and we saw all of these programs. My wife grew up in the midwest and she was not a fan of H&R Puff and Stuff. He wore those cool white boots. Sometime late at night they show him on the carton network. There was one show that I loved, I think that the name was "Kids are people too!' The theme song is still in my head, Now I know You understand,You! must give a helping hand, Kids are people too School house rock help me pass the 8th grade now we have it on dvd.I remenber watching watergate. They didn't show my cartoons after school. The SLA had their shot out just blocks from our home.I still remenber seeing the SWAT van going to the house on that friday evening but patty hearst was not there.

OMG, barkley...you would be dangerous at a game of Trivial Persuit if the category chosen was Children's TV Programming of the 1970's! I cannot believe you remember so much about the New Zoo Review's characters! Much of my early childhood memories have turned to a blur unfortunately.....

Making room in my brain for what is yet to be experienced! :cool1:
November 12th, here I come!

I must go get ready to watch the opening episode of Survivor! It starts in only 45 minutes! :rotfl:

boy do i remember the patty heast thing-i clearly remember watching all the insanity of the free food handouts near our home as they disolved into chaos.
but the big story that still hits home with me is the "zodiac"-i grew up right down the road from his first slaying, and alot of the subsequent were just a stone's throw away. i later learned that my husband's brother was a college roommate of one of the only known survivor's of a zodiac attack. i clearly remember nixon's resignation speech because i was on a choir bus trip to disneyland and i remember some of the adults listening with tears streaming down their faces.
as parent's we get so concerned with what shows our kids are watching; i myself have a major hangup about letting them watch the evening news-i have to many bad memories of watching zodiac updates, high profile kidnappings and the vietnam war footage!

on to a nicer topic! i too learned from school house rock-i can still only say the preamble to the constitution if i sing it :rotfl: "lolly, lolly, lolly get your adverbs here..."

O.K. Disnurse. What did you think of the first episode of this seasons Survivor? I won't reveal any of my thoughts here, but will wait to make sure you have already seen it. I think Choc_marg had to record it tonight since she is swamped with work right now. Hopefully she won't read any posts until she can watch her recording. Maybe I'll put a big title on it if I'm going to say anything about Survivor. :tilt:

Good Morning - one day closr...

Choc-Marg - just heard on the local news that there is a new chocolate treat that is very, very good for you...keep an ear out as I missed the name...

Have a great Friday!

I watched Survivor last night - the first thing that comes to mind is gross. Why did they have to show everyone puking? I won't say anything else in case there are some who recorded it. :crazy2:

I watched and actually had time to do it. I still have a taped copy though! Interesting twist by brining back to previous players.... I am guessing that the players that were so sick will go really far. Survivor always shows someone being really weak or disliked in the beginning & then they end up in the top 3 or so!

I agree that they showed to much of the sickness. I think that this is the hardest survivor so far. I do not recall such a large challange before. I still say that I want to do the Castaway Cays survivor with choc soufflee, margarita's and mickey bars. The only problem would be that you would have to drag my a** off the island at the end.

I enjoyed every bit of survivor last night but have to admit I had to turn my head thru the sick part. That was way more of that then they regularly show. I'm guessing they really want us to know how bad off the guys were. But as you notice the gals were hanging in there pretty well. Go Stephanie! She is an awsome player. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I think just hearing the puking would have been good enough. Watching each one spew their guts was too much for me - vomit is one thing I can't handle. Blood and guts are no problems but that about did me in. 11 miles is a looooooooooonggggg way to hike in that scary jungle - and then to have to sleep in the middle of it... I would have been screaming my brains out.
Ben looked at me about half way thru and said, "no way ever could you be on this show". No way ever would I want to! I'll stick with my cozy cabin on the Disney Magic! :sunny:

I am right there with you. I have such a sympathetic stomach. It's motto is "nobody pukes alone around me"
