Nov Hours - Why is DHS closing at 4pm?

Just got around to looking at the November hours for the parks. Does anyone know the reasoning for a 4pm closing of DHS on Nov 17? Any chance this will change closer to the date? Also I was surprised to see the lack of extra magic hours, will this change as dates approach?

Just trying to figure out plan of attack, as I'm sure everyone else is.

If it's already on the books as 4:00, my guess is there is a private event. It's very rare for DHS (or any park) to close that early without such, so I would not anticipate any changes for that day.

As to emh, those can and do change. You could check previous years to see what they looked like, but since that is the week before Thanksgiving, it's a fairly light week crowdwise. If resort rooms start to get booked up, they will add emh or increase hours (but not that one on the 17th).

At that time of year, there is generally a service event for cast members one evening at DHS.

I agree that it is most likely the evening of the annual cast member recognition event.

We don't do park opening so it hasn't made a difference for us, but that is definitely something that others have complained about and I'm not sure how you can avoid that problem. Sorry, I can't help you with that!
