Nov. 28, 2009 Western - Post Thanksgiving Relaxation Cruise

I'm already low carbs and have been for 2 years. However those 2 little pretzel niblets that I just ate probably don't help. :rolleyes1 I think I'll go get some water. ;)

I finally got serious about getting in shape. Have lost 7 pounds but many more inches in about 6 weeks. Working out 6 days a week and using LoseIt Iphone application to track food/calories.

Last call to be included on the cruisemates list for the Cruise Meet set for 2:45 p.m. on Day one of the cruise in the Promenade Lounge. There will be no formal program, just a chance to meet some fellow DIS friends and put names and faces to screen names.

If you haven't already done so, PM me names of all in your party and ages of kids.

I plan to send out the list tomorrow to all via PM so stay tuned.

Jeff

Ho hum. Weightloss....*sigh*...

I was doing purdy good (well...by purdy good...let me preface by saying I'm still carrying about 30+ lbs--out of the 60 or so-- I gained this last time) of pregnancy weight...and my "baby" is about to turn 14 months) the past couple weeks with sticking to my points (weight watchers) and exercising at least 5 days...for a few......um...weeks....Then I got sick...and my Birthday was last week, and I kinda celebrated it the whole week with lots of tastey treats, that being coupled with being stuck in the house all week,...and I'll just say that my efforts have been....well....derailed to put it lightly....*sigh*...

It's so frustrating because by the time Cohen (my middle child...the 3 year old) was one I had lost all the pregnancy weight (75lbs) and was "at goal"...and I just can't seem to stick to it this time...and it's been 14 months of cycling between being "really motivated" and being "a huge slacker"...UGH. I'm sad because I'm not going to want any pics from the cruise because I am tubby and frumpy feeling.

Ho hum. All the more reason to wake up tomorrow...and get motivated for change, right???

*rant, self pity fest over*...

Closing in on TWO WEEKS till we leave. Eeeeeeeek! No school tomorrow for the "big one"...and a half day Thursday. Here's to hoping we get out and do something fun tomorrow...this being stuck in the house with all 3 (last week sickies) is for the birds--all they do it fight alll.day.long.

Oh, and I just saw your post Jeff about the meet reminded me...(P.S> You have my info right Jeff? I never emailed you after you didn't have your PM box..but I assume you still have the info?)

Are we all going to get something to distinguish ourselves as the DIS meet peeps. I know we mentioned lime green home depot/lowes paintchip tags for our bags (?) right? Anything else for the week? Bracelet etc.?? It'll be nice to be able to "see" DiSers in passing. Since we have some new people who've joined the thred we should go over it again??

Also...Anyone going to do any of the "tastings"?? They only do them the sea days, right? I was trying to look at Navigators to see. It sucks that they do them one after the other in the same day...there is no way I could do more than one in one day...lol... I think I'm going to do the margarita/tequilla one the first sea day....and maybe the martini one the second day they are offered. I would like to do the wine one...but like I said--I can't do more than one in a day...

Yep I have your info! I don't know about the home depot chips. I'll probably just be the one in the Promenade saying "Are you here for the meet?" :rotfl:

As to tastings - yes and yes when it comes to wine and martinis. Not so much into tequila or beer so will skip those but we never miss the wine tasting and martini tasting! :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone for doing the GTKYs, I love em! Keep em coming!!!

Hey maybe when we all meet up at the promenade some of us could arrange to do a tasting together? That might be fun, no? And heck, I'll taste anything once ;):lmao: Maybe we could arrange another meet up too that doesn't involve alcohol for the non-drinkers?

I think when Steph talks about some identifying lime green mickey or bracelet or something she means so that we can recognize each other on the ship the rest of the week?

I don't want to wait anymore so can we all just decide to go NOW instead? Who do we need to petition to get that done?

Welcome Jill! Lots of girls on this trip!! :thumbsup2

Okay, 2 weeks from tomorrow we leave. :cool1::cool1::cool1: I can't wait. I have a feeling that the 5 pounds I wanted to lose before the cruise aren't going anywhere :headache: so I just want to start the vacation. Then I won't feel so bad when I have a little snack. :rolleyes1 :goodvibes

I feel your pain.. I dropped three of the 9 pounds I wanted to lose BEFORE the cruise.. but I'm starting to think I'll just have a limited wardrobe to bring!:rotfl:

My DD Rachel who is 9 and in 4th grade would love to email with anyone before teh cruise. If interested, please pm me and I'll send you our info or you can send us yours. (thanks JD stole the idea from you

Do you like living where you live? (and remind us again where that is?)Catasauqua, PA is a very small borough, I grew up in Bethlehem, PA which is much bigger. After 3 some years here I still can't get used to the small town feel.

What's your ultimate vacation? To do a tour of the British Isles

Favorite weekend activity? Work on Saturday, so Sunday is my day to sleep in and then get stuff done around the house.

Worst pet peeves? People who think they are special and entitled.

If you could have lunch with someone famous who would it be? Leonard Nimoy. Love Star Trek and Spock, but his personality is special too.

Favorite city? Walt Disney World (it is too a city, it has it's own sheriff & fire departments.)

Favorite drink? (Alcohol if that's your thing--or not if it's not.) Pina Colada

Favorite and least favorite holidays? Favorite, Christmas. Least favorite 4th of July because the fireworks in the neighborhood upset my dog and make a mess when they land in everybody elses yard.

Are you a morning person? No, but I have to get up 3 days a week to be to work by 8 am. Thank goodness I can do my job in my sleep LOL.

Are you a Disney nut? Are you kidding? I think we all are.
Some Disney questions:

Favorite Park? EPCOT
Favorite resort? Wilderness Lodge & Beach Club
Favorite restaurant? Teppanyaki ( haven't been there since it reopened as Teppan Edo)
Favorite ride? Mission Space (I'm a Trekkie)
Favorite Character? Darth Vader ( I like Star Wars too)

I packed my Spanx and just called it a done deal. :rotfl2::thumbsup2 DD looked at me tonight and said "Is that a 3 musketeers wrapper?" :rolleyes1 Well, if the kid ate the candy I wouldn't have to. :lmao:

Disneyholic - I feel like we're neighbors. My Dsis graduated from Moravian. DBIL from Lafayette. He works in Allentown now at Mack Trucks. I spent so much time up in that area that it's like we're neighbors but I live down by Somerville in NJ. And of course your dog looks like mine. I'll have to snap his picture with my cell and show you.

And my form of exercise is walking the 6 blocks to the Disney store, browsing and walking back! :thumbsup2 The big Christmas decorations are up on the Cartier store if anyone is interested. :goodvibes

I love my Spanx but just end up feeling like a stuffed sausage!:rotfl2: Sorry to hear they are closing the Disney Store. I'll have to be sure to bring the kids down one more time before it closes. We have one in our outlets but it's just not the same.

Hey Jill

glad to hear from you

the people on this site and our shipmates are a wonderful bunch:hug:

we won't be at the meet and greet b/c of our arrival time but we are in room 1072 and my middle girl is 12 and my youngest is 9

couple of others for your girls to hang with:yay:

Candy

Add in a few more cousins, too (girls of course!) We're traveling with A LOT of extended family and friends!

Please don't tell them about the "secret" deck! It's my hideaway from the in-laws place.

I'm glad you have a 9 year old - my middle DD needs a pair up!

Finally finished my FE gifts. I went to the WOD store at lunch to finish them off. Note to self: Do not try to walk across 5th Ave. during a parade. :lmao: Actually it wasn't too bad. They have this stuff down to a science in the city. Just a lot more people than I realized, and extremely cool to see everyone in uniform today! :thumbsup2

We are getting close people. :cool1::banana::banana::banana: Time for us to think about packing soon. Trying to figure out 1) IF we will go to formal night and 2) if I bring the tux or just wear my black suit. All depends on what kind of pictures we are planning. We are thinking of doing a portrait but doing something fun with casual clothes rather than the formal formal pic. If that's the case, no tux on this sailing for me.

I've been working on my formal gown for formal night today and have to sew the skirt on, put in the zipper and hem it and it will be done. DH will be wearing a Tux for formal night. If I have time in the next 2 weeks, I plan to make pirates outfits and possibly another dress for me. Depends how I feel and how time holds out.

I'm afraid to try on my dress- I bought it for my last cruise 3 years ago. Everyone else is all set for formmal night- DH is wearing a grey suit, DS is wearing a black vest, white shirt and black tie w/black chinos, DD is wearing a silver and black party dress (she looks so grown up in it). I'm planning on doing a family photo that night, so I'm trying to have us all match a bit. The other dressy night DD will be wearing a princess gown- either Belle or Aurora most likely...

17 days and counting...

Sounds like you've been busy! I absolutely hate sewing so I have alot of respect for anyone who does it! And pirate outfits! That is great. We will be boring this year. I tried getting outfits but it didn't work out. I bet you all will look fantastic! :thumbsup2

Suzanne - Sounds like the picture will look great. I have been hesitating to try on clothes as I have not lost my extra weight I packed on after this summer..:rolleyes1 And of course once I start packing... I will overpack! My girls look grown up in their dresses too! So quickly it happens! Good luck with trying on your dress!
