Just wondering which of these weeks you think would be best... for crowds, weather, activities, etc. I think crowd levels are my biggest question. Thanks!
I would expect insane crowds the week of Thanksgiving with most staying through the weekend of Thanksgiving. I would expect some, but not huge or insane, crowds December 17 because some folks will be off and already travelling for Christmas break. Just my $0.02
We usually go the week of December 10-17th and it's a pretty good "in between" week before the Christmas crowd insanity will start. yes, there will be some Mickey Holiday Parties going on at MK while you're there and you'll have to adjust your touring plans... but you'll bounce before it starts to be really busy.
December 10 - 17 is a good week -- far less crowded than around Thanksgiving. Plus, you'll be heading home when everyone else is coming in for Christmas.
I like the week after thanksgiving, that's historically very very low crowds (and usually no discounts). It won't be no crowds the whole week but you'll get a few in. Also it's usually hte week they film for the dec 25th xmas show if that interests you at all. nothing really special but more celebs and it's interesting to get phone calls if your on the tv in the background from family asking why your missing xmas dinner and in florida after just being there a few weeks ago (most don't know the tv show is not live).
Your other choice is excellent also and you won't have the mega thanksgiving weekend crowd the first couple days.
Of the two weeks you mention I would chose Dec 10-17. The Thanksgiving weekend will be very busy though the crowds will drop quickly during the week. Likewise you'll probably see the crowds start to go up on the 16th and 17th.
The December weather can be variable. Morning temps could be in the upper 30's. Or it could be warm. Pack for a wide range of temperatures.
We made many trips on the first and second weeks of December and found both weeks very enjoyable.
Thanks for your thoughts! If we go the week after Thanksgiving, we'd head to the beach during that busy weekend of Thanksgiving and do the parks Monday-Friday, if that makes any difference. I appreciate your insight!
I vote Nov 26-Dec3...mainly because those are my dates. It may be crowded during the Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving, but the rest of the week will be fine.

According to this website, Nov 26th is the best week for the entire year and Dec. 10th is the 3rd best option due to it possibly being more expensive depending on which hotel you are staying at.

That reminds me of one of our favorite Christmas movies: Four Christmases where they lie to their family and get caught on the news in resort attire and his phone rings while he's on air!
This is the week I'm going next year. Get in Sunday after thanksgiving happy it is normaly a low time. I had heard the first two weeks after thanksgiving was normaly a good time.
