Nov. 2011

So my curiosity got the better of me and I had to check out the DY9 code for myself....

Since the guest relations approved this code to be applied not only to my room, but to my sister's, after hearing from many that it was a bounceback offer, I called to see for myself.

I was told that it was a public offer available only for a very small number of higher end rooms in certain resorts. I told her that people were stating that it was a BB and she said no it was not. When I received this offer, there were only two rooms available at the BC, one lagoon view CL and the other was a deluxe CL room. The guest services ok'd it with my CM that it would be changed to two lagoon CL rooms and even remarked we were loyal vacationers at Disney World since we come every fall (so I figure guest services must have a file on everyone) After I had finished booking, there was only one room left at the BC using this code.

So there you have it, some people are told DY9 was a BB offer, and when I called back to see if the code I had been given was this, I was told no, that it was just a very small offer for certain high end rooms.

Typically, it all depends on which CM you talk to, but I do tend to believe the info when it comes from guest services who have the last say on everything.

Just wanted to give everyone a much anticipated heads up. Today I received an email pin titled stay, play, dine for nov 1-18 and the last week of november. I called to find out the discount and it was for free quick service dining for value or mod. So I had it applied for my reservation at POFQ for nov. 7-14 and upgraded to reg. dining and saved over $800. Now if only a free reg. dining pin would come out.;)

If this pin was in my inbox our November trip would be a definite!

I just called on this again and was told, again, that it is a BB offer.:headache: I told him NO it is not and he put me on hold to check further but then said it could ONLY be used as a BB offer. So good luck and congratulations to those of you that get a CM that will let you use it.:upsidedow I have tried DY9 twice and have been told NO both times.

Do you remember the dates for the last week in Nov? I'm trying to guess at when the T-giving week blackout will end and the PIN might be a good clue!

I finally checked my email with the details. Here goes:

Stay, Play, Dine
for most stays 11/1-11/18 and 11/26-11/30
Stay at value resort for 480/night per adult w/ MYW base tickets and QS dining plan.
add a child 3-9 for $229 more
add a junior 10-17 for just $253 more
example savings of 22%.
inquire about other lengths of stay and accommodations.

When I called they could not get the pin to work at first, then the CM came back with the figure that saved around $800. He said he though it was free QS dining.

Breakdown : 2 adults, 1 child 7, 1 junior 11. 7 nights POFQ standard. 8 day MYW tickets. Upgrade to reg dining plan $2598 total. dates 11/7-11/14

Can anyone figure this out. I'm not good at disney math. Just thought it was a good deal for me.:thumbsup2

I just called and got a room discount with the DY9 at a moderate:cheer2:, the most wonderful cast member searched for everything she could.

Fantastic - now my trip is complete and I even got MVMCP tickets because the price was so good.

Now I need to add to my ticker:cool1:

Just looked this up on the Disney site and for the regular dining for a week with your dates and people it would of been an $800 savings. So yes I believe it was a quick service dining pin!

Hi happygirlagain,
So glad you were able to use DY9 as well. Looks like a few of us here ended up with it so that is great news.
I know it isn't available during Jersey week or Thanksgiving week but if you are going November 13 - 19, for sure it is available. I really hope others keep trying as well. You never know!!!

Well I just tried and didn't have any luck.

When I first provided the code to the agent and she looked it up she said "well this is different, I've not seen one like this before"

We then talked about blackout dates and such...then she said let me look at the full details.

She then said it was a bounce back offer and she said that they are booked by a different group, which is why she wasn't familiar with it.

So here is my question -

Maybe those who get the code are talking to a different group or something - what number are you calling and what options are you using in the SIVR (phone system).

This is what I'm doing:

407- W Disney
407-934-7639
At the main menu I said "Change Resort Reservation"
I then provide my res number, last name, address number....
Then get an agent....

Maybe if you call a different number or go down a different path in the phone system you end up with a group that OKs it....I sounds like in this thread that people who get agents who say it's good to use keep getting the same answer each time they call back....

Been waiting and waiting for a free dining pin. Trying all the tricks to no avail. Finally today for giggles I sent a request through to DreamsUnlimited. We always use Michele there. She sent me a quote back and sure enough a pin was attached to my name for Free Quick Service dining....Thrilled! We were just there in December and did get free quick service then too but upgraded to regular dining. I'm fine with doing just quick service this time. Have a pow-wow with DH tonite...cross your fingers! Ha!

Plan to stay at Pop November 9th - 16th.

Call direct or try using DU.

I've called twice today about the "package code" which I told is what the DY9 was last night when I called. The first time they said the system was down and couldn't answer my inquiry. In the mean time, several people have gotten it applied to their ressie. I just called back and again, the system was down but, she filled out a form for me and someone is suppose to call me back.

I am so frustrated with this wishy washy stuff from WDW.

We are spending 4400 on resort, park tickets and dining plan for three of us for five night/six days. I'm on the edge of taking my money else where to vacation where they don't pick and choose who they will give discounts to.

I called today just see see if any discounts were available for our upcoming trip. We are currently booked at POFQ from 11/19 to 11/28 with regular dining. The CM was super sweet and checked but unfortnatley nothing came up.

I decided to ask about the DY9 code and to my surprise not only did she pull it up but she was able to apply the room only discount to our trip. The discount did not apply to all of my dates because of the holiday....but i was able to add an additional night with regular dining and still save over $200.00 :banana::banana:

The CM did say to keep checking back as my dates get closer for more promotions.

So glad to see the DY9 code is helping some people get a discount. When I called back to check on the code, I remember the CM did say it is very much a 'date specific' code. Again, she said there was absolutely no mention of it being a BB offer.

Keep trying and good luck!

I tried over the weekend to use the DY9 code and the very rude castmember adamantly told me it is ONLY a bounceback code. I tried to explain what others were saying on here and he wouldn't hear anything about it. He seemed to be having a very bad day and was downright rude! At first he wouldn't even tell me what the code was for. He would only tell me it couldnt be used. He then told me it was expired. Then, after asking to speak to guest services and being put on hold FOREVER (I think he was hoping I would hang up) - he came back and told me it was bounceback only. After a very frustrating 30 minutes - I came away with nothing. I thought - lets try again on Saturday and see what happens. Again I was told this is only a bounceback offer - this time by a very nice woman who seemed to want to get me a code, just didn't have one to give. She did say to keep trying as my dates got closer. Usually there is pixie dust to be found if you look hard enough for it.

At this point I, too, am getting tired of playing the Disney game. Either a discount is good enough for everyone to use, or no one should have it. Can you imagine every-day life like this? You walk into McDonalds and the price is different for everyone who walks to the register? Or imagine going grocery shopping :scared1: SOOOOOO TIRED OF IT!!!!!! Why should it be this much work to plan a vacation? The Happiest Place on Earth is making me very cranky!

I'm in a similiar boat where it's frustrating to hear some people are getting discounts and others aren't. Every other place I've been to seems to reward loyalty for returning guests (hotels, department stores,...). DH keeps asking if we're "all set" for November. Nope. I said before I buy airfare, I have to know if there will be a package discount. Once they offer the discount, if the airfare is too high, then we're not going. We all love Disney, but I guess I have a limit on how much I will spend on a Disney vacation versus going somewhere else. DH would just write them a blank check which is why I handle the vacation planning.

We are in the same boat. Airfare is unbelievable right now, with the sale ending tomorrow, but DH won't buy airfare until he's sure we can get a discount/special offer on WDW. When the offers do come out for WDW in November, airfare will probably be too much.:headache:

I was trying to wait for a special but I remember last year it was the middle of July when we got our pin code for Free Dining for November and December in the middle of July.

So I bought our airfare yesterday with the deal that is going on and am just hoping for a really good deal from Disney! :wizard:

I also have already purchased airfare - had a great price about a month ago - personally I feel 95% sure there will be some kind of general package discount for our dates (11/12 - 11/20) for POFQ and about 99.9% there will be some kind of room only discount (30% maybe) - not even mentioning the fact that I will *probably* get a PIN code as well - but even if none of these 3 happen we can always stay offsite...gasp...did I just say that. :)

I've planned our case flow based on these 4 options and while we would be able to do a lot more fun stuff (MMVCP, Park hopper, Hot Air Balloon Ride, a couple table service meals, etc) if we get the best discount, we are going regardless....

And on the plus said, if they don't have many general public discounts then maybe the parks won't be has crowded as they could be....

On the up side...... oil is on its way back down, so maybe airfares can go down too?? On the down side, that's probably because the economy is tanking again.

I guess I won't have regrets because the Southwest sale didn't include my dates. So I'm still holding on both counts......

Like many of you, I am speculating that Disney will *have* to offer bigger Fall discounts. Orlando hotel occupancy (including DIS) has not been great this year. The economy, while mending, is still weak. And those are traditionally slow times anyway.

I'm not even sure I'd go as far as to say it's "mending".........
