So after cake, Maxine left (or ran away screaming... I'm not sure which one...)and Rose came in. I really had no idea what I wanted for flowers except that I loved this bouquet.

Image001.jpg

Rose asked me what I loved about it, and I basically said “everything” I loved the color, the look, the style… So she basically was like “so you want this bouquet” I kind of stared at her like “why didn’t I think of that… yes” So, once we had that, everything else just sort of fell into place, and we picked out ceremony and reception décor pretty quickly.

DSC00018.jpg

For the ceremony, Rose offered to put up pew padding for me so I don’t hurt myself (I told her absolutely no aisle pedals, because If there’s a chance I could trip, I will!!)

Then we moved on to the dessert party… and started talking about décor and glowing wine and beer glasses… This sent my sister into a trance…. Ohhh….glowing…

DSC00019.jpg

I’m a little worried to see my floral BEO, because we were talking a lot about orchids and I could just see the $ mounting… but we’ll see…

I must say that we were all really impressed with both Rose and Maxine, and really liked both of them. We can be frightening for outsiders, but both of them really caught on to our quirkiness and fit right in. I’m really excited to be working with both of them.

So after we bid Rose farewell, Monica and her DBF left us to head to Epcot. Hopefully she’ll pop in and give you her account for that part of the day, and my parents, DF and I headed to the bus to get back to the hotel to meet Patricia.

As we were waiting in the sweltering heat, my parents decided to head into the GF to get some Fairytale Cuvee so we could test it out, and DF and I continue to wait for the bus. Once it finally came, it was jam packed, because the bus also went to Typhoon Lagoon, and as I said, it was crazy hot… So we headed to the Monorail, and got to the MK post-haste, and grabbed a bus to SSR. At this point, I was nervous that we wouldn’t make it in time for Patricia, but fortunately, she was stuck behind a super slow bus, and was running late herself. We got to the hotel just a few minutes before her. I was able to cool down a bit, it was really really hot.

I met Patricia, and she really is as sweet and friendly as everyone says. We quickly bonded over allergies, and she did my hair and makeup….

Here’s where it breaks my heart that my camera fried, because I lost my hair trial picts!!! I emailed Patricia to see if she could send me the ones she took, because I have nothing! I will post if she is able to send them to me.

The best I can describe it, is sort of like Heidi’s hair, but I have much less hair.

After my hair trial, we headed to the boardwalk via bus to DHS, and then boat (you know, for not going to the parks, we managed to use like every possible transportation option that WDW has…) We headed to Big River Brewing Co. to talk to Darlene about our Welcome dinner. We had a few drinks, and reserved our space. It was about time to head to DDD to meet up with Monica and her DBF, so we headed to the bus, and as we’re walking we actually run into them. I’m not exactly sure why, but they decided to walk to the Boardwalk from Epcot to catch the bus… So we headed to Raglan Road.

I made ADRs at Raglan Road with some trepidation, I’d read that the food was good, but the noise and atmosphere were quite loud. Well, we loved it! We had the scallop forest and the Dalkey Duo. Delicious! My mom and I split the “It’s not Bleedin’ Chowder” and some crab salad appetizer that isn’t on the all ears menu. Both really good.

We headed back to the room, and popped open the Fairytale Cuvee. I hadn’t really read too much about it, but what I read was good… I wanted to try it, because my dad is a wine hobbies, so I wanted to make sure it was good. Well, I’m sorry to say that we all thought it was disgusting. It tasted like moldy blue cheese, not the good kind of blue cheese, just icky. I have a high tolerance for bad taste, and I felt bad that I made them buy it, so I drank about half the bottle. It just was not to our tastes at all. It was so bad that I even considered that we might have had a bad bottle. It was just that bad.

So, we decided to use a different sparkling wine.

We headed to bed.

We woke up and made breakfast the next morning, and packed our bags to head to the ship. The cruise was to be a big family reunion, and I could try to explain how excited we all were about it, but they say a picture is worth 1000 words….

DSC00031.jpg

So around 10:45, bell services came to take us to meet our driver.

I had reserved a Suburban through Happy Limo, and we were upgraded to a limo. This brightened the posse’s spirits a bit….

DSC00034.jpg

well except for DF, he’s always a grouch.

DSC00035.jpg

I’ll spare you the full TR of the family reunion, but instead I will go through the Joanna-style cliff notes.
We boarded the ship…
DSC00037.jpg

DSC00036.jpg

Got scared when we learned what the muster drill was for…
DSC00047.jpg

DSC00048.jpg

Pondered how we were going to get out of the reunion…
DSC00050.jpg

Then realized we had a balcony, so jumping was an option…
DSC00051.jpg

We met up with the family at dinner and immediately started drinking…

DSC00159.jpg

DSC00158.jpg

We then went to play some bingo…
Look at that concentration
DSC00059.jpg

So close… too bad we were playing full card…
DSC00057.jpg

After the rousing game of bingo, it was time for bed. The next day had even more fun in store.

Thanks Tammy! Yes, I'm so glad we tried it, it would have been an aweful suprise on our wedding day. My sister and I are still in our early 20's and will drink just about anything, but that was just BAD. Not for our pallettes. I'll be interested to see what you think, obviously it must suit some people's tastes...

I took the exact bouquet pic to show Rose what kind of handle wraps I like...we must both have great taste...lol

Too funny. I'd say great minds think alike, but I don't want to drag you down to my level :rotfl:

It really is such a pretty bouquet. Maxine said she has that picture on her personal inspiration board in her office too!

That bouquet is gorgeous!! Enjoying your TR! :goodvibes

Thanks! I just fell in love with the bouquet... I asked for it to be a smidge bigger though, so I have a feeling I won't fall in love with the price... but we'll see :cutie:

I just need to vent for a minute here. I ran to the mall over lunch with a co-worker who is also getting married, because there was a store having a huge shoe sale... and she found like 3 pairs that fit her and would be perfect. I have such Yetti-esq feet, that I couldn't get a single pair on! I have a feeling I'm going to be wearing shoe boxes! Oh how I wish I had normal and proportinate feet! I'm 5'1", and wear an 11W shoe. That's outragous! I keep finding pretty shoes, that go up to 10. GRRR....

I wear an 11, too, and it is SOOO hard to find shoes in an actual store! What is up with that??!?!?

hmm I think you need my feet they are a 5.5. I'd say we could swap, but I think I'd prefer a size 8 in return :rotfl:

Tell me about it! It's ridiculous!
..however, I got lucky... see below....

Becky - I was a 5.5 in kindergarten!!! :rotfl: (no lie!)

So... I was visiting my parents last weekend, and I needed black shoes, so my mom and I ducked into payless because they are one of the few stores that carries 11.5 W in their normal stock, and low and behold, marked with the $9.99 sale tag, were 12 W fuchsia pumps!

So I tried them on, and they were a little big (gasp) but really comfortable, and $10, so I figured if I don't use them it's not a huge waste.

So then my mom and I were talking, and she has some antique shoe jewels from her grandma....

100_0442.jpg

So I tried them on...
100_0446.jpg

I think they really add something to them.... and they could be my elusive something borrowed.

But my friend thinks they look cheap and will detract from the elegant look. I'm not sure. I just bought them because they fit. :rotfl:

And.....
Patricia was nice enough to send me my hair trial picts! So as a reminder...

Even though I was insistent that I needed the little hanging strands, I think I'm going to ask her not to have them. I don't like the way they look.

OMG you look great!!! :goodvibes I like the hairstyle but I really love the makeup......it really accentuates your eyes! You will be a beautiful bride....:bride:

The shoes look great and if they are comfortable I think that is the most important things, you don't want sore feet! great deal for $10.00:cool1:

I think its sweet using the antique jewels as your something borrowed!

I'm soooo enjoying your trip report! Patricia is the absolute BEST, isn't she?! You look amazing :thumbsup2

OOOooo

I love the shoes with the antique shoe jewels!
I also love payless because they stock 5.5s lol

Your hair and makeup look fabulous!!! You are going to be a gorgeous bride!

oh i love your hair and make up !!!... im so torn on who to get for mine!! now i want patricia!

Oh your hair and makeup trial came out beautifully!! I love it!!! Your makeup looks very soft and romantic!

Thanks Tammy!! :goodvibes I really loved the makeup, Patricia is great!

Thanks, I'm not 100% sold on the shoes... They are a bit shiny... but for $10, I figured I'd take them cuz it so hard to find cute gigantic shoes.

I was looking for a "borrowed" jewel, and I don't really wear bracelets - they bother me due to an old wrist injury - and I already am wearing 2 sets of earrings, a necklace, and a few rings... I was running out of places for jewels! So the feet work well :rotfl:

I'm soooo enjoying your trip report! Patricia is the absolute BEST, isn't she?! You look amazing :thumbsup2

Thanks for reading! I so wanted to bring Patricia home with me so I could look human on an everyday basis :rotfl: She's fantastic.

Congrats on finding the shoes! And your hair and makeup look amazing!!

Thanks Heidi! Your hair was sort of my inspiration.

The shoe jewels are great, and a great way to represent my grandma who is no longer with us... I just wish they were silver instead of gold!

I always feel so cheezy going to payless, but I almost always walk out with a pair of shoes, because they carry all sizes!!

oh i love your hair and make up !!!... im so torn on who to get for mine!! now i want patricia!

Stacey - you so should get Patricia. She's fantastic. I booked her because she has special hypo-allergenic makeup available, and I'm allergic to EVERYTHING... and I'm so glad she did. She was just great.

Oh your hair and makeup trial came out beautifully!! I love it!!! Your makeup looks very soft and romantic!

Thanks. I basically told Patricia that I don't wear makeup normally (cuz I'm allergic and lazy) so I didn't want to look like I wasn't wearing any... but I also didn't want to look like a beauty-queen wannabe. I love the way it turned out!

In other news....

I got my initial event BEO, and the floral one is on its way next week. Time to bring out the chain saw (we so need a cutting smiley) and cut down a few things. I'm already way over where I wanted to be. :scared1:

Fortunately I found a few things that were wrong (like they have me down for a 3 tier cake, when I want a 2 tier) so those being fixed will bring the budget back closer to where I thought it would be.

And I'm going over to my parents' house today to work on the invitations - hopefully a fistfight doesn't break out between me and my mom.

We're in a race to get the wedding invitations out before my cousin, who is throwing me a shower, gets her invitations out. Because apparently it's a big no no to send the shower invitations before the wedding invitations. (even though I've already had one shower....)

Okay... I just want to finish this last part up... even though it's not disney at the end it's my first bridal shower....\
Day 2 of the cruise brought even more family fun… and matching t-shirts

DSC00070.jpg

guess which one is my grandma…
DSC00088.jpg

By this time, it was about 10:30am, and it was time to start drinking, but it has been 18 years since the family had been together, so we continued to take pictures while drinking….
DSC00106.jpg

My mom’s excitement and good attitude are catching aren’t they…
DSC00105.jpg

So then I left the room for like 5 minutes, and this is what happened…
DSC00097.jpg

Then the officers came out from the bridge to consult us and inquire where we got our awesome t-shirts.
DSC00099.jpg

Ahhh Nassau…
DSC00075.jpg

DSC00073.jpg

As the family left the ship for adventures in Nassau, we headed to the pool bar for some fruity drinks… So not a Lapu Lapu… this imposter should be ashamed!
DSC00113.jpg

We got ready for our awesome sting ray adventure, when the heavens opened up, the rain came down, and the thunder roared.

We stayed inside and played a really warped game of apples to apples (you mean not everyone associates “sparkles” with “Vampires” or “Danny DeVito”?)

Then we headed to dinner…

DSC00157.jpg

Then we spent the rest of the night playing Texas Hold ‘em and playing in the casino until 2 am.

The next day, or private island beach day, we woke to inviting skys

DSC00128.jpg

(yes, that is a waterspout forming in the background)

At least someone got a good beach day out of it…
DSC00130.jpg

Who wants to go snorkeling? Anyone?
DSC00135.jpg

Really? You sure?
DSC00138.jpg

Eventually the weather cleared, and Chris and Greg headed to the island to do some snorkeling finally.

While the girls had a little Bridal Shower

DSC00162.jpg

Don't have many pictures, but it was interesting... on the bridal trivia, there were 3 questions (about me) that I didn't know the answer to. Then my aunt made "bridal bingo", but forgot to make the cards different - so we were all playing the same card and all won at the same time :rotfl:

My aunts gave me pictures of some of the glassware on my registry, and had it shipped later.

Then, blissfully it was time to bid adieu to the family and head home.

ok, drinks at 10:30am, obscure apples to apples games, I would sooooo fit right into your family Joanna lol! Too cute!

Oh and in 2005 my friend Kara celebrated a family reunion and her grandmas 85th b-day, and we made them all Tee's that said "Nana's 85 in 05' " they were a big hit... are you sure we are not related some how?:lmao:

:lmao: Dude, half the time I don't want to admit I'm part of my family, and you want to claim lost realitive status?? You must be one of us! :rotfl:

I had a very productive weekend (super rare for me), but very little to show for it.

I talked to my cousin and confirmed a shower date and location (October 24) which sent us into a panic because we need to get the invites out ASAP, so that they can go out before the shower invitation.

So, we started on the invitations, and got all the hard stuff done this weekend - design, wording, printing, tracking down addresses... we just have assembly left. We have probally a day’s worth of stuff left to do, so I didn’t take a picture yet. My goal is to get them out the Tuesday after Labor Day. I figure that way, the shower invitations can go out by the 21st, which gives people plenty of time.

I got my first BEO, and went through and made changes and questions and sent it back to my WP, and scheduled a call with her on Thursday.

I bought plane tickets for us, my parents, and our officiant. ($74 each way!! Gotta love airline sales!)

I also made my first dress-fitting appointment for the 3rd week in September. Since there will need to be significant alterations, and we have those pesky holidays in there, I figured we’d better get moving. Now I need to decide if I should go to a specialty undergarment store, or if I should have faith that the seamstress will be able to handle my “women” (they’re definitely not girls)

Whew. I’m exhausted. I really have to go back to getting nothing done and surfing DIS.

haha your too funny Joanna, I bet we are long lost cousins or something lol!

Now wait a sec, your invites are suppose to go out BEFORE shower invites... well shoot now I have a bunch more work to do! I have to make mine... what was I thinking... oh well

You are super organized and doing stuff right now btw, I am going to try and keep up so I dont get crazy in a month or so lol!
