Thanks Sam! Hope you're feeling better. Gotta love family!

So...pretty much around the same time we decided on a Disney Wedding, DF requested two things... a MK photo shoot, and a vintage car. Well the MK shoot was fine, but there's been a small dispute between DF and I on the vintage car front. DF really wanted the Model A, and I preferred the Rolls Royce. Well, I had conceded that we'd get the Model A, because it's a car and cars are "man" territory in our relationship. But I kept having second thoughts as I just didn't like the look of it. So in my last email to my WP I mentioned that I wasn't happy with the Model A, and she sent me a whole power point full of Vintage Cars we could choose from! Who knew?? I had no idea there was more than the Model A and the Rolls.

So I showed DF the power point and told him as a compromise, he could choose one of the cars on the power point (after a few I vetoed from the get go).... So..... This is what he chose...

It's kinda funky and a bit more "us" than the Model A or the Rolls... and Orange is one of our wedding colors!

Just showed the car to Jeff. Now he wants me to ask Carol how much it is lol.
I love the new dress for your sister. That is one awesome dress shop you found.

Ps on my way to the airport now. Wisconsin here we come!

:lmao: gald to "help" :lmao: Thanks she's much happier with the dress - I'm totally pleased with the bridal shop, and it's only 5 minutes away from my new house! Hope you had fun in my lovely state!

Okay so I have a dilemma. It's a great dilemma to have, but a dilemma none the less.

The RSVPs are mostly in (still waiting on a few who will let us know closer to the date due to baby or other health reasons) and if everyone who says they're coming, comes, we'll be at 54 people. Which is fantastic - since I started out thinking I'd qualify for an Escape package - but also horriable because the "comfortable" max in the Napa Room is 50. So I don't know what to do.... do I change all my plans and pick a new location - but then what if not all the "most likelys" come?... or do I just leave it and then we're packed like sardines in the room? If we were at like 57 I wouldn't think twice, but 54 is just at the cusp. Ugh. We're not doing dancing or anything, so that helps space wise, but not enough where I feel okay. What do you ladies think?

Hey Joanna! I don't remember what time your reception starts but if you are having a morning ceremony, you could possibly switch to the main dining area at the CG. That's where our reception is.

Also, will there be kids? kids don't take up nearly as much room so i thing the Napa Room would be just fine with 54 if some are kids.

I think if you aren't having a dance floor then you will probably be fine if 50 is the max witth a dance floor. If you switch venues wouldn't you have to get a new menu? What does your planner say?

Unfortunately, we're having a 5 pm ceremony - so using the restaurant is a no-go.

There are no kids coming (well there's some people that act like kids, but they're adult sized :lmao:)

The max is 50 w/out the dance floor - 30 with. And yes, if I switch venues, I'd have to change menus completely since the CG is separate. That's what's so frustrating. My planner said she has "squeezed" (her word) 53 people in there, but didn't sound too positive about it. since right now we only have 47 confirmed and the other 7 are definite maybes - I didn't want to push it at this point with her- just in case it's a non-issue.

Hopefully I'll know more soon - I just want to be prepared an make sure my guests are comfortable.

Ugh. That's no fun! I guess your best bet would be to look around for another location then. Is it possible to have a similar menu elsewhere? I'm assuming you can always get a ballroom at either the Contemp or the Grand. If you go with the Contemporary any chance you can keep the same menu? Boo such an unfortunate situation to outgrow your venue!

 Sorry about the room dilemma. Are there any other restaurant options? Like Jiko or Narcosees, or something...? And there are other venues that aren't quite ballrooms, like LSS or the American Pavillion.

That's really terrible with the room. Is there anyway you can get a definite answer from the "maybes"? Maybe if you explain the situation to them and how you will have to change locations they will be more likely to give you a definitive answer.

I think the GF would be more convenient since you're getting married at the WP. You can ask your planner, maybe you could get the same food. I know that you can get things from other Disney restaurants served in ballroom locations, so it's possible they could at least give you a few of the dishes you've picked out.

Good luck with everything!

Oh my gosh! that is crazy! we are like neighbors! haha. I dont know how we missed eachother. okay, Im going to make my way through your pj, I'm like 5 pages in :)

Ok i'm done reading!

everything looks awesome I love the shoes. The nice thing i've learned about having size 8000 W feet is that you can find really great deals :thumbsup2

I was originally going to do the reception at the napa room for wishes as well, but then i decided that i really wanted to do a DP the night of the wedding and a cheaper dinner to fit the budget.

My DF thinks he might know you- he graduated in 2001 from Sheboygan. He said that you look familiar, just throwing that out there.

I cant believe the fairy tale cuvee tastes like feet! My personal fav is Rosa Regale, I'm not sure if they will switch it though, I already put in the order for 4 bottles the fairy tale stuff :scared1:

Yeah. Right now its just a waiting game. I think if we have to move, we'll move to one of the ballrooms at the Contemporary just for ease, but I really really hope not.

Since we've got an evening reception, resturants are pretty much out. Jiko has a private room, but we'd run into the same size issue. I originally wanted LSS, so that would be an option, but now that we have an outside photographer booked, it complicates things. GRR. My mom offered to eat in another room so she didn't have to talk to people :rotfl: I might have to take her up on that.

Unfortunately, the "maybes" are all maybes for really good medical reasons. One had a baby yesterday, so she wants to see how the baby is before comitting... totally understand on that, but that's 4 people right there. Another is having knee surgery on December 8, so doesn't want to commit until she knows how she's feeling.... I don't want to pressure anyone, because they'll likely just change their answer.

The GF would be convienent to the WP, but almost all my guests are staying at the Contemporary, because we told them to :rotfl: So, worst case we'll have to move to one of the Contemporary ball rooms. It's so bad, but I'm seriously just hoping that 1 group can't make it. Even just one, and we'd be okay because we can always do a sweetheart table and 5 tables of 10.

I just feel guilty hoping that guests don't want to come. :rolleyes1

So for now it's just a waiting game. We have to switch our transportation anyway, because of the number confirmed, but we're sticking to the Napa room for now. Positive thinking :cheer2:

Thanks Amanda! That is funny. I went back and looked in your PJ, and your DF looks crazy familiar too. Did he ever work at the Children's Museum? I graduated in 2001 from Homestead, but my parents moved to Sheboygan shortly thereafter. We've probally run into each other and not even know it :rotfl:

We were super disapointed with the fairy tale cuvee, but like I said, some people really like it. It might be better if you have it with food? I'm with you though, I  Rosa Regale too! It might be cheaper than the fairy tale cuvee! (I saw it last week at Costco for like $13 a bottle)

Thanks everyone for reading along! We're 62 days out!

I stopped at Michaels this weekend to pick up some ribbon and they were having a huge clearance of Martha Stewart DIY wedding kits.

I got some simple invitations that I'm going to use as part of the menu cards for $5 for 50. I got some candy boxes 24 for $.70 and a program kit for $9 and a bunch of self adhesive gems. Actually, the only thing I didn't get was the ribbon I went there for

I also hit up the dollar bin at Target and they had blankets for $1. There were blue with snowflakes and pink princess ones. I bought two Targets out of them, and am on my way to two more tonight. We're going to provide these for our guests at the Dessert party in case it's cold and/or for their chairs as padding. They're perfect because for $1, I don't care if we leave them there or if anyone uses them.

Sorry I'm at work right now, so I don't have pictures of any of this, I'll update later with the pictures.

I seriously can't believe it's coming so fast! Our final payment on our hotel is due next week! (to me that's always an indicator that it's coming FAST)

Now I just feel like...what am I forgetting?

No he never worked at the children's museum. But him and his family are like 15th generation Sheboygan people. His parents still live there, its funny. but him and all of his brother broke the tradtion and all married girls not from Sheboygan ! I know sac-religious right :rotfl: So they all moved away but his last name is Huibregtse. I'm sure his mom has bought your parents chocolate at some point :goodvibes

Do you mind me asking which target was selling blankets for 1$ that is a really good idea that I might steal from you :thumbsup2

Too funny. I'll have to ask my parents. They're actually in Kohler, not Sheboygan proper, but I'm sure we've seen them around.

Um... competition for the blankets - I'm not so sure about that :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I was visiting my parents this weekend, so I found them at the Target in Kohler first, and hit up Grafton as well on my way home. They also have red and white striped ones, but those were too Christmas-y for me so I left 'em. The check-out lady in Kohler said they were a newer item - within the last week or so. I plan on hitting the Miller Park and 27th and Layton ones tonight. They are kind of small - 2" X 3" I think - as you'd expect for $1, but they're soft and they'll do the trick.

just wanted to stop by and check in on your plans.... hope things work out for your location... you are getting so close now.....looking forward to seeing your favor boxes etc.... on sale is always good!:)

just checking in.... anything new about locations/guests?

Actually.... last night Chris's friend who had RSVPd yes call and say that his daughter joined a synchronized skating team, and they have some big meet that weekend, plus he's got something with work the week before, so his family of 4 can't come. Which is sad.... but... it means that my wedding location drama is OVER :banana: There's no way we will out grow the space now! Plus, there will be no kids... which is easier because I was really worried about how to entertain them because we're not having dancing or anything at the reception and there were only those two coming. So two stresses gone in one phone call.

Okay... so for a few updates...

So... I as I posted before, we're down to a max of 49, which is (barely) below the 50 max, so I'm much more relaxed.

I'm having a size issue with the dinner part of my welcome dinner but I'm meeting with them over the phone tomorrow, so hopefully we can work something out - I have a few ideas.

Also I could use some pixiedust: and finger crossing that the group that has the French Island Lower (or whatever it's called now) tentatively held decides against it and we get it!!

I'm trying to take pictures of some of the stuff I'm doing, but my camera is dying and I can't find the cord. I'll go look for it and hopefully update later. Can I just say I HATE my camera and really hope santa brings me a new one!
