Not-So-Scary Eat & Drink Until We Drop PTR...TR link pg.9!

BTW-I read more of your PTR-and I am so sorry for all the loses you've had to sustain in such a relatively short time... You've been through some rough stuff...

I love all the old family photos-I love those photos from the 30s and 40s -they are so evocative of an era...your grandmother was lovely...

I adore your pumpkins...you really are quite artistic...we have a festival--The Chadds Ford Pumpkin Festival that I love to go to...I love the carved pumpkins...(so if you're a dork...I guess I'm even worse of one cause I can't carve...I just appreciate them...btw...you are way too hard on yourself...:goodvibes...

I can't wait to see what you do with the photos I know you'll be taking of this trip...:cool1:

Just popping on over from my TR. Hope you don't mind another reader. ;) Your plans look great so far...sounds like a fun trip!

Hi there! I just discovered your PTR today and I love it! We have a lot in common! I am also a photographer and dog lover, as well as a bit of a loner. You also mentioned you first went to WDW when you were 23. Well I'm currently 23 and this month I will be taking my very first trip to WDW!

Isis is absolutely adorable!!!! I especially love the "ears" photos of her!!!

Your trip sounds like a lot of fun! I can't wait to read more! And it definitely sounds like you really need and deserve this trip!!! You've really been through a lot! I'll definitely keep coming back to read more of your PTR!

Oh, also, pumpkin carving rocks!!! My mom and I did this one together a few years ago:

First let me say THANK YOU, everyone for the kind words. I am loving the Dis boards & everyone here. The trip reports are my favorites to read- especially the chit-chat in between!! I really am enjoying getting to know everyone- you are a great bunch of people.

OMG- I LOVE your pumpkin! How did you carve so steadily?!?!? I can’t wait to see what you carve this year! Do you have a dog, too? I am going to head over to your PTR now & I absolutely can’t wait to read your TR!!!!

Just popping on over from my TR. Hope you don't mind another reader. ;) Your plans look great so far...sounds like a fun trip!

Thanks- Of course I don’t mind another reader! I just started reading your TR the other day- it is great!

Thanks for listing all of those activities! I want to do ALL of them!!! :rotfl:
BTW- You have an AWESOME TR so far! I love it!
I also love the old photos from the 30’s & 40’s! I’m so fascinated with that era. My stepdad’s father told me he lied about his age to get into the army (he was too young) and married my grandmother before he left. He said parachuting into France was exactly as it was depicted in “Band of Brothers”. I had remembered that scene as the most horrifying of the series. I shouldn’t complain about my life at ALL after knowing people had to go through things like that!
I am planning to OVERDO photos on this trip! I told John to prepare to wake up crankily to a camera flash every day! :lmao:
Oooh! A pumpkin festival!?!? That sounds so fun! I was trying to get a Pumpkin in to the Roger Williams Park Jack O Lantern Festival, too. I love the fall- it is my favorite time of year. For my birthday every year since I can remember we go out to Western Mass to look at the foliage & go to the Yankee Candle Headquarters in Deerfield, MA. It is SUCH a cool place to go! Some Western MA fall photos:

Hello! April, :wave2:
Followed you over from Ginny and Lisa. I have REALLY enjoyed your photo essay and your youtube photos. I can not wait to hear about your trip that is just within DAYS!!! we have not decided when we are going back next year and the week you are going is right around one of the weeks we are considering.

Your Pumpkins are AWESOME!!:thumbsup2
If we do one it is just an old fashioned run of the mill jack o lantern. I may have to give a design a try this year. Ashton would love it!!! The last 6 years or so I just put out some ceramic ones I have and light those up!!

I love the story of Isis; we have three dogs; our poddle is 13 yrs old and everytime we leave her for a week she is so excited to see us that she will jump eye level than once we get her home she sulks for a day or so. It is so funny! You and your BF John seem to have a great match going except for the food part:lmao: I actually LOL when you mentioned meeting his family; while reading the part about your family I said out loud and he is "Greek"!;)

Thank you for sharing your family story with us...it was very touching to read and share your photos with you!

Looking forward to more and your TR (you are going to keep up with us so we all have a place to CHIT CHAT!) and hearing how this time of the year is at the world! As for any tips sorry I can't really share; I like to consider myself a Disney know it all to my friends but never on these boards; just learning more each time I go! BTW my DH,DD, & DS17 love Universal/IOA we did everything in both parks that they wanted to do (I missed the Barney show for DS3) and we did not have the express passes. So I know you can do it if you have the Express passes! They are not really big parks!

Have a great one! :wave2:
Connie

Thank you, Connie! Do you have any photos of your doggies?? I love poodles- aren’t they so sweet? I just found your TR & am going to read it today!

Good morning Apil. That is great about meeting John's family. My family is so affectionate and Don's was not so much. But over the years his family has really come around and they are great. I knew I could wear them down. Love the punkins

Ginny

Thanks, Ginny! How did you guess the Greek part??? :rotfl: They were great!!! I hope I can be a part of their family. They are so warm & friendly.

Thank you! A lot of time and effort is how!

Oh man, I haven't even begun to think about Halloween this year!!! I am so focused on this WDW trip that I really haven't thought about anything that comes after the trip! October is next month, isn't it? Oh my! We did a Doctor Who pumpkin last year. And the year before that we did a Lost pumpkin. So hmmm... I don't know what we'll do this year!

Sorry I haven’t been around today. I am having a rollercoaster of a week. After meeting John’s family & having a great night, the next night was not so good. John texted me that he would be over in a little while at 5:30 & when I still hadn’t heard from him at 9:30, I texted to ask if everything was ok. He said he went out to eat with his parents- which is fine. I would not have been mad if he had let me know when he found out what he was going to do. He normally comes over for dinner every night, so I was waiting to eat with him. It just made me feel like an afterthought, you know? :furious: Enough of that drama…. Today I found out I need a wisdom tooth pulled. I had to make the appointment for the end of October because it will be $600- with insurance!!! I’m heading home from my long day at work soon with NO good way to go home since there is a Patriots game at the stadium tonight, traffic will be just awful. Needless to say, I have decided to take tomorrow off. I might be online a little tomorrow, but Isis has a vet appointment and I have to clean the turtle tank. Fun, fun! Have a great Labor Day weekend, everyone!!!

Sorry about the drama! It's hard not to take things like that personally, but guys just really don't think about that kind of stuff.... like letting you know in advance he went out to eat so as not to expect him to come over! That is definitely typical guy behavior and not anything personal against you!

Yikes! Sorry about the wisdom tooth! Have you had any wisdom teeth pulled before? I had such a bad experience when I got mine out! I have a small mouth, so they had to dislocate my jaw to pull the teeth! Well, I recovered from the tooth pulling surgery pretty quickly. But it took my jaw a lot longer to recover! I was in agony for a very long time! The pain medication they gave me helped, but I was still in a lot of pain even with the medicine! But experiences like that are pretty rare! For most people it's really no big deal! Most people are great just hours after their surgery! I hope you're one of those people! Then the worst thing about your wisdom tooth removal will be the cost!

I hope Isis' vet appointment went well and that you had a great Labor Day Weekend!

Hey! April
hope your weekend was a wonderful one! sorry to hear about your wisdom tooth; I had all four removed thorugh surgery when I was in my teens. quick easy recovery!
I'm sure you will do the same! ((:))
:wave2:

Hi! Sorry I have been MIA for a little while. My sleep schedule- I don't even know if I can call it that because I haven't slept much until last night- has been ALL messed up. Picture a queen sized bed- I sleep on the left, John sleeps on the right, and Isis sleeps RIGHT in the middle with her feet facing my back. She has her "running" dreams (probably chasing cats) and kicks me in the back all night. John literally flails in his sleep- I wonder what the heck he dreams about. One time he was sleeping with his arms pointing straight up towards the ceiling- like he was flying like Superman! Besides this, I am left with a foot of room to sleep on...so needless to say I haven't slept much. Isis must have sensed I was ready to make her sleep on the floor because last night she gave me a break & crammed John against the side of the bed! :lmao: It's ok, though, because he would sleep through Armageddon.
Enough of my sleep antics. I have been keeping busy by cleaning. I cleaned out 6 dresser drawers & the result was a huge trash bag STUFFED full of clothing that I am putting in our Salvation Army drop box at work. I used to be such an impulse buyer that I have things with tags still on them. I have gotten much more frugal since then. I also have a lot of clothing that doesn't fit because I gained weight. I have been holding on to all of my "small" clothes for so long that they are kind of out of style now. :rolleyes1 Not to mention all of the stuff I hold on to for "sentimental reasons". I have a LONG way to go- one more dresser & my closet. At least I can donate the clothes- I hope someone will benefit from them. I also recently read about a man that wants people to donate shoes...I may not have mentioned it yet, but I LOVE shoes & have quite a few pairs. I'm POSITIVE I can find some decent ones to donate.
Other than that, I have been trying to help my Aunt & Uncle know what to expect because they are both flying for the first time Saturday. First time flying & they are going to San Diego from the East Coast- ouch! After they are there for a few days, they are off to Hawaii!!!
I think I'm going to try to find a few photos to post sometime today. Sorry again for being MIA!

I hope everyone had a GREAT Labor day weekend!!! I am going to go & catch up on the boards now. I can't wait to read what everyone has been up to!

April, hope everything is ok with you. Have missed you on the boards.

Ginny

Aww- thank you!!! :goodvibes

Isis did so-so at the vet. They had to muzzle her for her shots & blood test, but she did well. She lost weight- she is only 68 pounds now! She should probably be 60, but she likes her cookies. ;)
I'm not TOO worried about the tooth since I will be knocked out. And I have a big mouth. :rotfl2:
I think after the discussion I had with John, we are good. He will definitely not consciously do that again.

:wave2:

Thanks! I ended up scheduling my tooth for the end of October because insurance only covers a little & they don't cover the anesthesia at all!! :scared1:

just curious-- is it dental insurance or health insurance?!?
we filed under both when Danny had a procedure done!
good luck!

That is good advice! I didn't think of doing that. I was just going with dental, but I have great health insurance. I should find out how to do that. Thanks!! :thumbsup2

Danny's oral surgeron suggested it to us; his dental did not cover alot of the surgery. when I had my wisdom teeth removed I had to have it done in the hosp; mom & dad did not have dental. so, health ins kicked in by doing it in the hosp BUT! three of mine were impacted
hope it works out for you...the dentist office should be able to help w/this :wave2:

sorry I missed your post:confused3; I started w/your replys not aboutyour cleaning and sleeping...we let Ashton sleep with us and Danny makes soooo much noise when he sleeps that I usually only get about two really good hours of sleep after Danny leaves in the morning. I use to feel guilty but not anymore since he is the main reason I don't sleep and Ashton leans against Danny and pushes his feet under me :lmao: different species but sounds like same effects :lmao:

wow what an adventure for your aunt and uncle I pray they have a nice quiet flight so they don't call you to come pick them up by car:eek:

Glad all is well with you. Everyone needs time off once in a while. I so understand the sleep situation. We had a Lahso Apso for many years. He always slept on my side of the bed. Everytime he moved I had to move. He had to have his ball joints removed from his hips years before (fell off a bunk bed) so he couldn't jump. I had to put him up and down all the time. After he started falling off our bed I decided he was getting moved. So I made a bed for him on the floor. It was like night and day difference for me and him too actually. I vowed to never have a dog sleep in my bed again.

When my grandson had his wisdom teeth taken out this summer his medical ins. paid the anesthesia and dental paid the removal part.

My Princess hates the vet. When she goes to the groomer I have to hold her head, another girl holds her feet and the groomer pulls that hair out of her ears. The rest of it is fine but she hates having her ears touched. The poor dear has had 17 teeth removed. My vet says it is common in schnauzers. When I take her to have them cleaned they just break off so he has to pull. She manages to eat just fine. She maintains 21 pounds.

Glad it worked out ok with John. Men sometimes just don't think. They are doing what they like and don't realize how time get away. They have to be trained. Keep working on him. He sounds like he is trainable.

Ginny

I'm sorry about your wisdom teeth...I haven't had that but I did have a root canal-it actually wasn't too bad...but all of that dental work can be $$$...

I had to giggle when you were describing your sleeping arrangements...I can't stand the feeling of being trapped in bed...my dog is little-he's a Scottie but he parks himself right in the position where he is jammed right up next to me not DH...I try to push him to the foot of the bed...but...:confused3 he comes back...then there's my son who shows up sometimes in the middle of the night...

...Guys...I NEED SPACE to sleep...

I feel your pain...:sad2:

:lmao: They are definitely out of luck if they want me to pick them up by car from Hawaii! They asked me to pick them up at the airport when they get back, but I had to decline because they get in at night on the 27th & the shuttle for the airport picks me up at 4:25am the next day. :scared1:
By the way- I voted for the last week of Nov/first week of Dec ;)

John is definitely trainable. Thank goodness for that!
How old is Princess?? Isis hates people touching her feet, ears, tail, head...the list goes on. LOL I have tried the bed on the floor, but she looka at it, then at me like..."you can't be serious- I am NOT sleeping on the FLOOR." :rotfl2:

It is SO funny that you guys have had similar sleep situations. I can stop complaining now that I know I'm not the only one! :rotfl:
What is your dog's name??
By the way- great photos in your report!! I am really enjoying it.

Sorry I have been all over the place today. One of the women I work with had a heart attack (from complications from chemo years ago) & is in the hospital. She had to have a triple bypass and an aorta replacement. She is one of the healthiest eaters I have ever known & she is only around 50 years old!!!! :scared1: I have been trying to put together a collection for her today. She is one of the nicest people out there.
Anyhoo...I wanted to post a few more photos:

I don't know what I am going to do! I am running out of photos to post- and I NEVER thought that would be possible!!!
I hope everyone has a nice afternoon. :)

I know what I will do! You guys can help me decide what to wear to the 2 "nice" dinners we have planned. I will take photos of some dresses this weekend. I have to admit- I am a bit worried about our LTT ADR- I had a message to call Disney Dining about it. I have a bad feeling. :sad2:
Can I ask a dumb question? What's the deal w/ the green Home Depot Mickey heads??
