Seems like your "sticky" situations turned out just fine. harharhar!
I tried to get an ADR that weekend for R&C....all I could have gotten was like 3pm, maybe next trip.
I actually lucked into this reservation. I just kept checking, and eventually, snagged one.
You know, I have never eaten at the Rose & Crown.... And I'm not quite sure why that is. I love the whole pub deal! I think we only really began to truly discover the UK at Epcot last year, so maybe that's it. Putting it on my mental list of future eateries.
I actually have never eaten there because every time I wanted to book it on a big family trip, I kept thinking...there are only five (or is it six) entrees to chose from. This will never fly.
Are we still on your first day??! Wow! This is gonna a be long ride!

But I'll be along for every moment.
.
We are still on my first day. I think two more posts will wrap up day one nicely.
I love hearing all the accents too. It's one of those things I love about NYC too.
Yes, I agree!
R&C sounds really good. I had wanted to try it this trip, but my friend really had no interest. Next trip definitely.
Definitely put it on the Disney to do list.
That's what I hate most when I wear my glasses. Always makes me think of when I worked at a fast food restaurant back in high school. Everytime I'd open up a steam drawer my glasses would fog up.
I feel inspired to song...
ahemahemahemah...
"MEMORIESSSSS!!!!"
Loved the update TK!!
I am a firm believer that life (and how much you enjoy it) is 90% attitude... and you and yours have AWESOME attitudes!!
Love how you made a H-O-T and wet and sticky day (that probably turned plenty of vacationers on their EARS!!)...into a perfect and wonderful day and memory!!
You rock!

Paula
Life is so what you make it. And I could have totally flipped out over our lack of luck or I could have looked at it for what it was. Something that would only happen to us, and yet turned out to be a pretty darn nice meal.
Oooo, I love hard cider. It was one of my most favorite parts of my trip to the British Isles. I think a stop-over at the R&C might go over quite well in December. I'll have to mention that to my traveling companion! With all the names of drinks I'm writing down, I think I'm coming perilously close to the idea of "drinking around the world..."
Oh, gosh, it is soooo easy to drink around the world. So many yummy drinks, so little time.
This is one of the places I was contemplating trying on my solo days, but alas, those may be out. Ah well, another time. I admit, you have me drooling.... Amazing sounding food!!
Nope we can't all look good all the time, but I'll bet that that Disney glow you had made up for any "sticky" thang you had going.
Ah, yes. From here on out, perspiration of any sort shall be referred to as "my Disney glow."
I've thought of Rose and Crown, but never took the plunge, so to speak. Maybe someday I will.
You should go just to have the sticky toffee pudding. Is your whole solo trip planned out? Let me rearrange it for you.
Rose and Crown is a lovely place to eat and gaze at the view! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal there last June! That hard cider looks delicious! Now, I want some for tomorrow.
I love your relaxed, easygoing attitude on your first day! I am still feeling quite peaceful while reading your updates! I hope the entire trip was like that for you!
I know how you love your Rose and Crown! I actually recommended a Welsh Dragon to the woman at the table behind us because she was undecided on her drink, and I thought, well, CP likes it.
I'm so glad you enjoyed Rose & Crown. It's such a wonderful place to eat in my opinion. Very yummy.
I remember how much you'd liked it. I'm so glad we ate there.
Yummy update!!
I am so sorry it was so hot...
But it sounds like you made the best of a pretty crummy situation!
It was hot. But fun.
Oooh! Sticky Toffee Pudding!
That sounds amazing.
R&C is on my list for the kids to look through. I LOVE the atmosphere but have a hard time getting excited about the menu (not that I dislike it mind you) but every review is just lovely! it will be interesting to see what the clan thinks about it.
I love go with the flowness....but a scheduled respite (hot and sticky as it may have been) can be just what the doctor ordered sometimes. I feel for your server with the glasses. I used to wear contacts and no longer can. I'm grateful my eyes are decent enough that I can just go without most of the time as that fogging up thing is the WORST! She sounds lovely. What nice evening!
OMG. The sticky toffee pudding was so many kinds of delightful buttery tasting goodness it makes my mouth water. Watch out keyboard!
We did have a really nice evening, and you're right, sometimes a little break is needed.
I've never tried Rose and Crown...but it surely sounds yummy! I'm glad you were able to just laugh about everything instead of letting it dampen (literally

) your night. Wonderful memories!
Dampen. Well, I guess I set myself up for that, huh?
Look at all the people who have never tried Rose and Crown! Go! Get thee to thy fine English pub!
Yum, what a great dinner! Glad you enjoyed!
It was so good, thanks.
