To recap a little bit, shall we fondly recall TK's Three Things?
As suggested by my ever so clever friend, Heidi, I composed a list of 2-3 things I wanted to accomplish each day on my "go with the flow" trip.
Here's my list for this day-
Sunday, Sept. 27 -
1. See Big Bad Voodoo Daddy at Epcot
2. The Donald Ride in Mexcio
Well, there you have it. As they say on Little Einsteins, "Misson Completion!"
Or was it?
You see, after that oh so delectable, oh so delightful, oh so filling dinner, and I had a hankering for a different kind of stuff and fluff.
Oh bother.
And if you don't know where I'm going with this, for shame!
That's right, I had a hankering to see my favorite silly ole bear, Pooh.
Now, for those of you who aren't aware, Pooh happens to do a meet and greet inside the shops in England, all the way toward the rear of the toy store. I find this to be nice because it's indoors, and even better, it's quite common that you'll get three characters for your meet and greet. And we all know how rare that is!
Now I'd mentioned to DH that I'd hoped to accomplish this if everyone was game for it. I asked DS if he wanted to come with me and he said no. So DH and DS played with the various toys around the store, and I happily waited in line, ready to get a hug from my Pooh Bear.
I bet you didn't know he was my Pooh Bear. Most people are under the mistaken assumption that he belongs to Christopher Robin, or maybe even Darby, but it just isn't so.
I know this because he has a special hug just for me. And it's one of the best hugs in the whole entire world. It is soft and warm and comforting and it takes me right back to childhood. Honestly, I think when I was little if you'd asked me what my happy thought was, it just may have been Winnie the Pooh.
Now while I was waiting in line, my son was busy falling in love...but not how you might expect.
He was absolutely in love with the Thomas train set they had set up for kids to play with! He played at that and didn't even bat an eyelash about my waiting in line for so long. Didn't. Even. Register. That's how happy he was.
So think about it from his perspective. He's in Disney World. When we first got to the hotel we got to eat lunch with dessert. Then he and my husband played on the playscape. We headed to Epcot, where he got to ride on Spaceship Earth and his Donald ride. He was able to run around the World Showcase, playing with drums and whatever else tickled his fancy. After filling his belly on some great dinner and dessert at Rose and Crown it's off to play with trains in a toy store.
I mean seriously. If you were a four year old boy, could you imagine a better day? (Well, there is always tomorrow.

)
So at any rate, I didn't feel too badly about leaving the boys to their own devices, because they were having a great time without me!
Eventually, it was my turn, and although I look like I'm sporting quite a Disney glow and my hair is a dang mess, these are probably some of the most fun photos I had with Pooh.
Not only was Pooh there, but Tigger and Eeyore as well. I'll admit, I'm not very original. Every time I see Eeyore, I ask him if he's found his tale. And he always turns around to show me it's right where it belongs.
Tigger and I discuss the merits of boucing, and Pooh and usually have a discourse about honey.
I do believe though, on this occasion, I leaned into Pooh and whispered, "You're my favorite..." as I hugged him, "but don't tell Tigger, because he'll be jealous."
This was a great way to end my night. And it was only the beginning of some wonderful character interaction I was to have on this trip.
I said my goodbyes to my friends from the Hundred Acre Wood, and when we could finally pry DS away from the trains, DH and I decided to call it a night. It wasn't terribly late, but we were pretty much done.
And that, dear friends, concludes day one.
