Northern Europe Magic 6/13/2015

Hi Everyone! Just joining this thread...we've been booked on this since it came out last spring-swapped a place holder cruise for it- but wasn't sure we were gonna be able to do it back then. (Still not 100% but now 89%) :cheer2: Anywho...it's me my DH and my DS 12 and DD 8 who are going. Is anyone staying in Copenhagen before the cruise? We always like to hang a day or 2 before to get acclimated to the time change but the hotel prices there look CRAZY expensive. Anyone know if DVC has any night before hotel deal like they do in Florida? Can't wait to get to know everyone!

Adventures by Disney has a pre-cruise Copenhagen gig. 4 days, 3 nights, most meals, tours, etc...includes transport to the ship. $2200 per person I think.

Hi everyone! I have some questions regarding ground transfers and lodging for this cruise...any help is greatly appreciated!

1. Is the only transfer on day of departure from the airport? As we are flying from the US, we will need to fly in on the day prior. Will we have to go back to the airport to catch transfer?

2. If this is the case, has anyone found lodging at/near airport (we are a family of 5)?

3. Any idea how early Disney transfers will get us to the ship? We are gold so hoping for an early PAT and would like to board as early as possible.

TIA!!

I know that for the Med cruise we took last year, the buses were rolling into the port about the same time we arrived by taxi ... around 11 am, if not earlier. Not sure if it will be the same in Copenhagen.

You need to ask DCL if you don't stay at the DCL hotel, can you still get the transfer from that hotel. That might save you from having to stay at the airport or heading back to the airport. If you're only getting into Copenhagen the day before and have no intention of sightseeing, then you might as well stay at the airport. I suspect it's cheaper there than in the city.

You can fly in the day of the cruise or anytime before. We fly in early and get acclimated to the time zone. We usually stop before we head to the departure city. This year we spent three days in Munich and then headed to Venice for the cruise. Next year it will be the Loire valley/Normandy loop. Due to cheap flights ($92) to fly from Paris to cph, we are flying in the day before. We are going to stay at a hotel near the airpirt with a free shuttle and just go back to meet the disney transfers. I would defiantly ask the times because the boat sakis at 4.

We've got a room booked at the Adina Apartment Hotel Copenhagen. Price was ok, reviews on Tripadvisor were very good and it's not that far from the port. We expect we'll go there two days early ... arrive, then next day we'll bop around Copenhagen before boarding the ship the next next day. :)

We're still watching the situation in Russia/Ukraine before buying airfare. The hotel is cancellable...airfare won't be.

We have gotten our airfare and hotel at the Tivoli booked. Either way we will go regardless of what happens in Russia. We expect that Disney will adjust and ensure we are all safe.

It's not that I don't think we'll be safe ... it's that the main reason for this cruise for us is to see St. Petersburg. If the ship diverts from there for whatever reason (safety or economic sanctions), we have to decide whether we still want to go or wait till the next time. Problem is, I've been waiting for this cruise since 2010! LOL

just in case you want to see Copenhagen....the previews for the October 17 episode of the Amazing Race shows them in Copenhagen....

Just joining the group. We have been booked since the spring but are ramping up our planning. Travel group will include my parents, DW, DS(19). Look forward to seeing what adventures are waiting for us.
