North To Alaska--May 3, 2011 on the Disney Wonder

Well it was good and bad. The disney gods were not happy with us (maybe because we are not spending enough time @ WDW,lol). We were assigned a cabin in the same category on deck 2. So much for a upgrade:confused3. But on good news: there are other cabins available. We were able to move (with a charge :( ) to opposite our friends. I called today and the ship is not sold out and has cabins available in all categories. So we are going to wait till check in so see what else might be out there. :confused3

Makes me Wonder how full/empty this sailing will be.

Okay...I have been asked if I will be organizing a Jammie Breakfast on the Alaskan cruise and I figured DCL would be having our character breakfasts on on our sea days and I know some people have brunch at Palo's booked, I was wondering if people would be interested in an "informal" jammie breakfast in Triton's on May 5 (this is our Tracy Fjords day) at 8 am? Everyone is welcome, just meet outside Triton's by the Ariel statue (it's been so long - it is Ariel on the Wonder, right?) in your PJ's at 7:55 (yes Peter PJ's are mandatory!!) and we will have a fun filled breakfast.

P.S. Anyone know who the Dining Room Manager is on the WONDER (too bad Daniel is on the Dream).....

are we (ok you) going to get a head count for this event?!?
side note.....this is also "cinco de mayo" :woohoo:

And we will be nowhere near Puebla, Bummer but I say Breakfast Burritos and Margaritas could be and should be on the Menu.
:goodvibes:thumbsup2

AGREED!

...and by the way, he is always to be referred to, by DISers, as Handsome Daniel. And if you address him that way in person he'll laugh and blush.

(He has a couple of DIS lanyards with 'Handsome Daniel' in his collection)

Jackie,

I think I speak for most of the gentlemen on this thread ... this tone of discussion about good looking men is demeaning towards men. :love1: Women need to learn that men are not just a slab of meat! We have a sole, and feelings! popcorn::

Okay guys, that being said, I am still looking for entertainment for GUYS NIGHT OUT :drinking1 (opposite of Champagne Girls) at the Quiet Cove Pool. I am thinking of something along the lines of a slender blonde in a teeny bikini. Who's with me on this? :rolleyes1

Would it be possible to post the fish extender list in one central location and only update it there rather than making changes and then reposting it? That way there is one place to get all the most current info without having to look back through posts and hope you found the most recent one? Also, do we have a hard cut off date of when no more cabins will be added? or has it already passed? With just a little over a month before the trip (we're B2B), it's really time to knuckle down and figure out what we're going to get for fish extenders...but before we do, we want to make sure we have a reasonably accurate count so we can get the right amount of stuff!

That may not be a problem if we were going to the Caribbean. But because this is Alaska it might be under a long warm coat. :cool1:

Lets meet up at Diversions for the Yankee game (its a 7pm est, 3pm local time)

We agreed to cut off the list a month before the cruise so basically people have until the end of the month to sign up. As for one place to put it I don't really know where that would be.

Happy St Pat's to everyone!!

As most of you know I am on a B2B2B and this cruise is the last one. On the first one's thread some folks have asked for a copy of my packing list...so I thought I would make it available to anyone who wants it from this thread a well. PM me your email address, it is in excel 2007 version. And will show you just how bad my OCD can be!!!

I agree about the posting of the FE list in one place. Maybe a link to an online doc on the first page? (like google docs or the ilk?). Like Erik, I would like to ensure I have enough of my item for everyone!

Maybe rather than reposting it from this point forward, you could just go back and edit the last post you made with the list from now on and then let everyone know that post number? And then it could get linked in Post #1 (that's what the organizer on the repo thread is doing and it makes it super easy to find :thumbsup2)....or maybe someone could put a link to it up on the roster website?

I wasn't planning on it however if I see the number of people responding growing I will advise the DRM when we board in LA (we are doing the B2B)...I don't think we'll be anywhere near our 100 people we had on the 11 night Southern Caribbean cruise. One of the reasons I asked who the dining room manager was on the Wonder was that a few of them are familiar with the "events" of the Disboard groups and will be expecting us to show up in our PJ's on a sea day (I know Daniel wasn't surprised on the Miaden Voyage of the Dream - he just asked me how many this time!!!!)

I have to ask....what is Cinco de mayo? we don't celebrate this in Canada (well at least not in Ontario)

Still have a pair from 2005 like brand new! :rotfl: :confused3

I have a new Card ready to Print for the Grass Skirt Flannel Shirt Frat, so how many new or continuing members will we have, Please let me know so I can have a card for one and all.

Actually I am very much looking forward to being on a Classic DCL ship, Dream was nice but I like the classic more intimate size of the Wonder and Magic.

Count us in.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Ditto on the "Classic" ships.

Makes me Wonder how full/empty this sailing will be.

They were/are offering the military discount on the first 3 Alaska saillings which usually indicates a good selection of cabins still available.

Probably due to schools still being in session and early in the season. Folks we know that have sailed Alaska have asked us why we're going in May, too cold.

Bob
