What month do you think is the best month to go to WDW if you are not planning on going into the parks?

I guess the best time would be when you can get a room for the cheapest points -- i think sometime in December (you'd have to compare point charts to be certain), which is what makes it a hot DVC time. There would be plenty to see just resort hopping to see the decorations and of course there is always disney springs and going up to TOWL to view fireworks.

Also depends on what temperatures you are comfortable with? Would you be visiting off site attractions?

I went in September and thought that was a perfect time. Too hot to really enjoy the parks, but still OK for the balcony. Also, LOW points.

Actually, just dreaming. Something I do a lot when I have over two weeks off of work for the holidays. My future plan is to take my family to WDW every 3 years. Then my DH and I will go the in-between years. That doesn't work out so great for an AP though. So I figured we would buy an AP in December and use it, and then use it again with the family the next October. But I can't skip a year at WDW! So I would be willing to go for a non-park visit the next year, and then start the rotation all over again. I think I could resist going into the parks during a 2-3 week trip, especially since we love the resorts as much as the parks, if not more. We would probably not visit off-site attractions. I really like to get to Disney and stay. We like to just relax on our trips, even the ones to WDW. Right now, we usually just do 2 park days on a 5-6 day trip. I would like it to be warm, but definitely not hot. I will not visit again in the summer! Simba's Mom, I think September will still be too hot for me. I originally thought December would not be a good time since there are so many awesome decorations in the parks, but as kniquy pointed out, there is so much to see outside of the parks in December. I could always purchase a party ticket too if I just had to get a MK fix. I can tell you for sure that I could not go during the Food and Wine Festival and not go into Epcot. Just couldn't do it. Just curious what everyone else considered a good month for a non-park trip.

We like November and May -- warm enough to swim and enjoy the pool deck/balcony. Walking around Disney Springs or playing games at the resort are also enjoyable. Remember with the new tiered APs you need the upper tier for visits at Christmas after (approximately) 18 December - 2 January.

The most pleasant temperatures are likely to occur in April-May and then again Oct-early December.

If you want pool time, I'd say November as December and January and even early February could have cold fronts move through. March and April would be good but they get crowded because of school spring or Easter breaks. The rest of the year is hot.

I would go mid to late Oct or early Nov. Temps are pleasant, and warm enough most day to use the pools. Points are lower and so are the crowds. If you don't mind crowds and cooler temps, Dec has all the holiday decorations in place at the resorts and Disney Springs. But it can be a bit too cool for a pleasant swim, but the hot tubs, great time for that.
