We love non-park days. We like to sleep in and then have a lunch at one of the resorts. From there, we like to resort hop. My favorite is to ride the monorail to all 3 resorts and explore. We will walk around for a bit taking in the things we normally don't appreciate, looking at the gift shops, etc. Then my DW and I will grab a drink at the lounge and give the kids some money for the arcade. They love finding new games at all the arcades. Of course, all the other resorts are fun to visit too. If you hit the AKL about an hour before dark, you can see the animals, roast marshmallows, look at the artwork and artifacts on display, then see the animals again with the night vision goggles. Stay and watch the movie by the pool. All the resorts have evening activities that you can partake in if you are staying on-site. I think the only taboo is using other resort pools.
