Not sure if this board is about non-disney restaurants as well. If it is, any suggestions for nice family restaurants in and around the Orlando area (we'll be staying at Davenport, FL). A friend recommended Race Rock restaurant for decent food, an interesting restaurant and welcoming to kids. There is a PF Changs at the Mall that we like but it isn't really too family friendly. Anything else?

If this board is only about Disney related restaurants, :guilty: please ignore. Thanks.

Both of the two Giordano's have great stuffed pizza (one is on 192 and the other on 436). Emeril's Orlando and Emeril's Tchoup Chop are both good.

If you don't have Smokey Bones (from the same people who brought you Olive Garden and Red Lobster) there's one at 192 and 535. You mentioned Race Rock, so I assume you're okay with going to I-Drive. I'd recommend Cafe Tu Tu Tango, but you may want to do a search on it and see if it's what you consider family-friendly. I'm a DINK, so I know my perception may differ from yours ;) Also, Amigo's is the local Tex-Mex chain and they just opened a location on I-drive. I see a lot of families at Bill Wong's Super Buffet (I-Drive and Kirkman), and I love Fuddrucker's. Dixie Crossroads is also good. These last two are located at Festival Bay, right near the Prime Outlets (formerly Belz).

And I second Giordano's - although I think majortom meant 535, not 436 for the second location. 535 is Apopka-Vineland and is right near Disney; 436 is Semoran Blvd and is located closer to Orlando proper.

theres a Steak & Ale and a Bennigans side by side on I drive, they are owned by the same company, they are both good, the Steak & Ale is a bit expensive. Hard Rock Cafe is good and ive heard good things about Macaroni Grill but have never eaten there.

I like Tony Roma's (ribs) not far from DTD. If you don't have one locally, they have GOOD ribs. :) Turn left as you exit DTD atthe Crossroads intersection. Next to that is also a Steak N Shake if you want something decent a quick.

Macaroni Grill is good. It is a step up from Olive Garden both in quality and price.

We have fun at Jungle Jims family friendly fun themed inexpensive restaurant. We also tried Dixie crossings on I drive that was real friendly and good food. Bahama Breeze was good but more $ all were very fiendly.

We loved Bahama Breeze. They have one on I-drive and one off the 4 near the Premium Outlets.

They have a fun, tropical atmosphere and great food. It is on the loud side, so we love it for our 3 yr old and 1 yr old!

Race Rock Cafe is a good choice because there is a lot to see and they had some interesting menu choices when I was there...and the one of the best hot fudge brownie sundaes I'd ever had.

Are all restaurants in Downtown Disney going to be crowded during lunchtime (and need advance reservations) or are there enough to be able to handle the crowds? Leaving in less than a week (be there on Saturday!) :woohoo: .

We found it pretty easy to get into Bongos and the House of Blues at 11:00 when they first opened for lunch. And Planet Hollywood as well.
