Gotta love helpful CM's when travelling solo!
As for food, I kinda gave it away back there, but if you're still guessing, stay tuned...

So I was being indecisive as I headed out of France.
I still wasn’t too hungry (probably due to the heat – it always curbs my appetite) but I did want to check out a new counter service locale.
So I headed back around the World Showcase Lagoon for the second time today passing France and Morocco.
I continued on until I saw the huge temple of Japan and headed into the back of the pavilion.
Here, hidden by the coi pond and the pagodas stands the lesser-known Yakitori House.

If not for the blue sign, you might mistake this location for a quaint Japanese house and not be sure what’s in it.
IOUG2009723.jpg

Once inside, it still is very quaint, quiet, and usually not very crowded.
It’s almost a hidden gem in it itself but there’s more.
There is a small counter to get your food underneath another sign.
IOUG2009724.jpg

The rest of the room is filled with tables and chairs and I found it fairly empty when I was there.
In fact, there were only 4 tables being used for the entire time I was there.
And I took my time as it was nicely sheltered in the air conditioning and provided a break from the insane heat outside.
However, if it was a bit cooler, I’d recommend the outdoor seating.
There, in a corner of Japan I’ve honestly never even seen before is a little seating area lit by paper lanterns hanging from strings.
It’s a beautiful little area and would be a perfect place to stop and unwind a bit from the long day.

IOUG2009726.jpg

I explored the area after I ate.
Not one of the tables were being used (probably partially due to the heat and partially due to the fact that no one knows this is here).
Heading back towards the pavilion entrance, the area turns from tables and chairs into a display of bonsai trees and waterfalls.
Yet another detail to enhance the peacefulness and tranquility of this pavilion.

So, with dinner working its way through my system, it was time to press on once again.
I continued my second circle around the World Showcase.
Any guesses as to what is on tap next?
You might think I’m running out of things to do but don’t worry – there’s plenty left!!

BTW, I had to share this as it was too funny.
We had Father's Day brunch at Cheesecake Factory and my oldest made a discovery.
In the middle of brunch, he exclaimed, "DAD! Look over there!!"
I looked and what did I see?

Yup, Hidden Mickeys in the Cheesecake Factory!!
I was so proud!! :goodvibes

Clever boy, DS. And always on the look-out for hidden Mickeys. :cool1:

We've never tried Yakitori House but it sounds nice. What did you have to eat there? I love those lanterns!

I love that your son found a Hidden Mickey at Cheesecake Factory! Too cute!

Good boy! :thumbsup2

Do you recall if Yakatori House had Cashew Chicken or Orange or Pineapple Chicken? Those are my favorites. I've been up to that area to take pictures, but I didn't go inside the restaurant. We might try it out in July.

Gotta tune those senses for when we're in the park! :goodvibes

I did a whole report and forgot to mention what I ate! That's funny.
I had the Sukiyaki Beef which comes with rice and was not very spicey.
It was ok - kinda reminded me of salisbury steak.
The Kung Pao Beef at Yak & Yeti CS was much better.
Next time around I'll have to try the chicken or shrimp.

Good boy! :thumbsup2

I don't recall any of those options although there was a chicken entree.
I think it may have been more like a teriyaki-style though.
Sorry - I was focused on the beef dishes...

Nice update :thumbsup2

I had no clue Yakitori House was there either and the little area w/ the lanterns looked so peaceful ! Def seems to be very hidden !

How cool that DS found a hidden Mickey at the Cheesecake Factory , my kiddies are always on the look out for them too even when there not at WDW :)

I'm gonna guess either Canada or Germany ???

A hidden Mickey at the Cheesecake factory - Cool! Someone has very good observational skills.

I have never eaten at the Yakatori house but I should would love to try it one of these days!

Yeah, it's a nice hidden alcove - definitely worth a shot just to hang out.

I was very proud of my Hidden Mickey finder.
As you can see, they are starting to get excited about our Jan trip.
We've been talking it about more with ADR's on the horizon.

As for Yakitori House, it's a nice counter server but I'd probably pick Tangieriene Cafe as my favorite in Epcot.

For those of who wondering where some of the Photopass spots are in Epcot, this one is for you…

I headed back around the World Showcase as I still had one more princess to meet.
Sure enough, Snow White was finishing up and they closed the line soon after I joined.
After some odd looks when people realized I had no children, I stepped up to meet the original princess.

I really like the new Photopass “frame” they added for Snow White as well.
Take a look…

Then it was back towards Future World – there were some other things I had on my agenda.
However, on my way, I noticed the Illuminations Barge was heading out into the lagoon prepping for the night’s festivities.
I couldn’t resist a shot of the “two” Spaceship Earths…
IOUG2009731.jpg

Next stop – the Fountain of Nations Plaza.
I bid farewell to the World Showcase for this trip.
(although I contemplated the night trick of walking counter-clockwise around the countries after Illuminations to see all the lights).
But, for now, I headed off to main pathway into FutureWorld.
The sun was at an angle that produced a neat glow across the flowers so I wanted to take advantage with some more pictures of course!
And sure enough, my friends in khaki vests were waiting for me…

And then we turned around to grab some with Spaceship Earth in the background.

Lastly, of course, I had to ask for my FAVORITE Magic shot that they do in Epcot.
One for my favorite ride – Soarin’!!
I love these shots – and the clouds and the lightning made them even more fun!
Photopass2009416.jpg

Photopass2009419.jpg

There!
I had my fill of Photopass. For now… :goodvibes
I thanked my friendly khaki-clad Photopass photographers and headed back into Future World.
What to do? What to do?
Any guesses?

Great photopass pictures. We missed all of them in Epcot when we were there. :confused3 Guess we just thought they weren't really located in that park. I'll have to keep my eyes open for our trip!

You must feel Photopass around you. :yoda: (gesturing)
Here, between you...me...the tree...the rock...everywhere!
Yes, even between this land and that ship!
They are all around us.

:rotfl:

May the Photopass Be With You!

I don't think I've seen the Soarin PP (Not FP - LOL!) before. I am putting that on my September list! Love it!

Now tell me about walking counter clockwise to see the lights? I've never heard of that.
