From Mexico, I headed across the World Showcase Plaza to the Friendship Boats.
On my way, I noticed a very fun angle on Rafiki and Simba.
From the back, Rafiki is presenting Simba to Spaceship Earth and the rest of Epcot.
I thought this was neat:
And I got some glances around the World Showcase Lagoon.
I really like this shot of Germany.
Then it was boarding time.
And for the first time I noticed something in Disney that actually was not kept "ship shape."

Come with me and enjoy a ride on the
IrIEADSh P of
WORLD SIOWCASF
My little cruise took me all the way to the International Gateway and I noticed this landscaping and thought it was for Flower and Garden.
But I noticed it again when we came back in November.
And you know what? I still have no friggin clue what it is.
Any guesses?
My best guess was a spider.
But was does a random topiary spider have to do with Disney?
Now
that is the question of the day.
Anybody? Anybody? Bueller? Bueller?
From there I wandered the walkways and entered a beachfront property that transported me to Cape Cod.
And of course into my head pops:
Listen up people and i'll teach ya,
'bout Phineas and Ferb in the backyard beach,
Every mornin Phineas is gonna say,
Brother what you gonna do today,
You see we're having fun playing under the sun,
Get in line, get in line 'cause the wet skis running,
A backyard beach...a backyard beach,
Nothin's out of reach in the backyard beach!
I had arrived, of course, at the Beach Club.
One of my intentions this trip was to check out the Beach Club and the Boardwalk area.
Ive heard so much about it but had never been there.
Since I always rely on Disney transportation, its kind of tough to get to this locale unless you are actually staying here.
So, on my own, I decided this would be the trip to scope it out and see if it is all its cracked up to be.
The first thing you see as you enter the Backyard Beach area is the volleyball courts off to the right and the white buildings just beyond them.
Then you catch a glimpse of a huge marooned pirate ship which acts as a slide into the infamous Stormalong Bay.
This thing looks really cool.
As does the sand-bottom lake (its too nice to be called a pool) that is Stormalong Bay.
This is the first resort where I actually would consider taking time away from the parks to go swimming.
And, yes, this is the reason that the "no resort pool hopping" rule is in effect at Disney.
I passed by another highlight - Beaches and Cream.
I debated having dinner here but I declined as I had another spot in mind.
Instead I wandered the tranquil hallways of the Beach Club and found a Solarium.
The Beach Club has it all awesome theming down to every detail.
This place feels like youve been transported to the Northeast.
I wanted to grab my cardigan and ascot and head out to the sailboat to meet Muffy and Buffy for a ride before the big croquet game.
All this place needs to be complete is a lighthouse to direct the ships into the docks.
Oh wait, they have that
And across the way is the famous Boardwalk Resort displaying an altogether different coastal theme.
These definitely seem to be great resorts to stay in and the walking distance to the World Showcase is incredible.
Extra Magic Hours during Food & Wine ending in a 5 minute walk to your room just sounds like heaven
But it was time to move on yet again.
I took plenty of pics to show the wife and kids at home my new discovery.
Now I had some friends to meet back across the pond.
Come along and Ill introduce you!
