No Trips in 2015 turns into 3 Trips in 2015--Update 4/24/15 -- Page 31

What a fun last day! It looks very different from our planned DHS day (Frozen singalong, Disney Jr. Show, etc). I love how the parks have something for everyone!

Your 4:30am pickup is the same day as Rory's 2nd birthday!:scared1:

Looks like a great day!! That is indeed an early morning. Though I do find that even if you have a later flight, you feel (at least I do) like you can't do that much on departure day without stress of making it to the plane on time...so I guess that's a plus...(trying to be positive) and you get home at a decent time.

I am so looking forward to not seeing the hat. Hopefully they have the walls down by the time we go, they are so pokey at doing things lately.
I've never done Mama Melrose. We almost did in January, but ended up at Pizza Planet instead.

That is a rough, rough wake up time and shock back to reality. At least you get a nice Mother's Day treat when you land! :)

I am mostly a lurker, so this posting is kinda new to me, but I really enjoy your trip reports..They are very informative and entertaining. My husband doesn't care for Disney, so it makes it hard to plan trips very often. So I get my fix through the Dis!! Your plans sound awesome so far. I have never flown anywhere, so I cant imagine a 4:30 AM pick up..We always drive.

Our plans for the day include stopping at Starbucks, of course, for coffee.
How many times?

And looking forward to NOT seeing this
:jumping1:

Then we will proceed here for lunch:
Good luck with that one... :rolleyes1

Oh, but I'm sure since it is you, your service will be second to none and the food delicious.

We have no evening or dinner plans (see....there is some surprise pkondz).
Heck, I forget what I read in the PTR by the time the TR rolls around anyway. :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

As I said, we have a 4:30 a.m. pick up by the Unmagical Express the next morning (my flight is at 7:20 a.m.)-- Mother's Day. I think Andy is picking me up from the airport and taking me to breakfast for Mother's Day on the way home.
Looks like a nice Mothers Day. You know... aside from that part about leaving the World.

Day 6 sounds great!! We tired out the MGM Starbucks this last trip and Sken was not impressed, but I enjoyed it!

Love Star Tours, and TSMM. RnRC single rider would be something I would do too! The way the ride is set up it doesn't matter who you are next to lol!

I think I would walk to MGM as well, despite the fact that Disney clearly can't spell. It is a lovely walk over, and just being able to walk to a park feels special.

Perhaps One Man's Dream????? Kathy. You know you HAVE to go there!!!!!!

Just read some great news. Disney is banning selfie-sticks on all attractions at Disney World!

:dance3: party: :jumping1:

Next up I hope... Tablets!!

Ok Kathy, time to get caught up. Oh, and welcome back from Phoenix... Now that you received your MB's (saw on FB) let the Disney countdown begin.

Having to take the Unmagical Express back to the airport at the end of a Disney vacation is bad enough, but at 4:30 am sure adds salt to the wound. :crazy2:

As for walking to DHS, good exercise. We almost always walk back to Epcot or HS when we dine on the Boardwalk. For you in the morning it gets the blood flowing, for me in the evening it justifies getting the Caramelized Banana Napoleon at Flying Fish... I tell myself I'll burn it off walking. :rotfl:

What would a PTR be from KatMark without a mention of Starbucks in the plans. I knew it would be in there. :goodvibes

I am in agreement with you about the hat at HS. I never cared for it, and can't wait to see an unobstructed view of the Great Movie Ride as I'm walking down Hollywood Blvd.

Seems like you do like Mama Melrose. When we were there last June (Fantasmic pkg) I was the only one who didn't care for it. It did have good service and the theming was nice; I just didn't care for my Chicken Parmesan. I am usually willing to give a place a second try and more than likely will here some day in the future.

Nice selection of FP+ selections, especially the TSM and ToT. I sure wish Carolyn and Alyssa liked ToT; I have to beg them to go on with me. :earseek:

Nice way to finish out a vacation is to be greeted by Andy and taken out to breakfast once you arrive back in Chicago. Hopefully you won't fall asleep in the restaurant from that 4:30 am pick up. :goodvibes

Oh man, that's an early pick up time! I guess the plus is you'll be home for most of Mother's Day?

Your trip to Phoenix looked really fun! Glad you got to get to some nice weather for a bit!

Your HS day looks great. You have FP+ for the best attractions, it looks like.

And yay for banning selfie sticks! I was happy when I read that.

Happy very late birthday to Alisha! :bday:
I am so sorry for falling behind! I love reading your comments and replies to everyone that is able to reply to your posts!!! You're just so sweet and there's something about your posts that sound so genuine! It's awesome!!

I have a quick personal question if you are able to answer, great!!
When using chapter links I think I have the jist of it all- copy link, type what you want, select what you typed, insert link- but when I click on the link it takes me to the top of my page and you have to scroll all the way down to find my actual post within the comments and replies. However, when I click on yours you're able to make the link go directly to your post and bypass the comments... Could you tell me how you did that? I would be so appreciative!! :)

Again, I love your posts and I love catching up!! (Even if it is super late :()

Ugh, you have an early morning pick-up as well!? I have a 4:30am pickup on my last day too... As if leaving isn't bad enough... :sad2: I just kept thinking to myself that the 24 hour party is just the day before I leave... it would have been perfect had it been the night/day I was leaving... I could just keep going through the night until I actually had to leave. But alas... it didn't work out that way. Just as well... I'm a girl who needs her sleep after all (or at least the bare minimum to function reasonably well in public!)

Tracy, we can  together. That just seems so wrong. Going isn't so bad, but coming home. :( I am pretty sure I'll be crashing after breakfast with Andy.

I hope work has calmed down and things are easing up a bit for you!

It should by next week. I am just about caught up with the departure of my partner and my main boss being back after being gone for almost six weeks.

I love everything about this PTR! This format is all new to me so hopefully my post shows. Welcome home! Looks like you had a nice time in Arizona and I'm counting down the days until your next trip with you!! :D

Starr, my friend, it's so good to see you. Yes, we did have a great time in Arizona.

The new Starbucks at Hollywood Studios is cute, but I wish they had seating! It was a little cramped when I was there, but fine if you're just going in to grab something to go.

There's no seating in any of them which is kind of sad. But it will work for me as long as I have my coffee.

Looks like you have some great plans for HS, and being a little spontaneous and not having everything planned out is always really nice.

I like to have a few things just happen rather than be planned.

Ugh ... I've had that early DME pickup, it's not cool. At least you have the possibility of a good breakfast once you get back home!

I've already told Andy exactly where I want to go. :)

Caught up again! I can't stand that Unmagical Depress!

Jill in CO

Glad youa re caught up...I know you've been busy.

Ugh, yuck! Thats rough!

It is; but for my July trip I have a later one...5:30 p.m. flight, I think.

Well thats something at least.

Yes it is, with a Starbucks stop on the way for sure.

Hi!! I am new and caught up. Love all your plans for your first trip and and looking forward to hearing about everything :)

:welcome: I am always deligfhted to have new readers and appreciate your picking my TR as one of the ones you have joined.

Well... since I'm here now....

And I'm honored that you are. :)

Happy Moth...
"Let me sleep!!!"

I have a feeling that just might be me. If I'm lucky, I'll sleep on the plane.

Walking? In Disney World?

Well, added walking is what I should have said.

::yes::

Was never a fan of that hat.

Well.... okay. Maybe I'll stick around a bit longer then.

See...there's always a surprise here or there.

What the what??? Really?
Oh, please let that be true.

Yes, it is true. Now if they'd just ban those and Ipads at parades and Wishes.....

Hmmm... for someone who doesn't really comment on PTRs.....

:rolleyes1

I'm glad you commented. :)

Great FP+ choices! And I love that you start your day at Starbucks. Mmmm, Coffee.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am NOT human until I've had coffee.

Yes, I'd read about the selfie-sticks too. Hurrah!!!!!

I couldn't be more thrilled.

(see, I told you pkondz would be roped in, hook, line, and "stinker".)

Yes, yes you did.

Ugh. That pick up time is pretty awful, but it sounds like a great day at the studios.

Yes, it is, but I will survive. I'll have all afternoon when I get home to relax before going back to work the next day.

4:30 AM...you lost me right there! Wow...how will you ever do that. I would just have to not go to sleep!

I'll be up at 3:30, making coffee and cussing myself out for making such an early flight.

Kind of sad about the hat, but I don't think it is a bad thing for it to be gone! It means changes are coming in a park that could really use it.

I remember the park without the hat and it just never fit in my opinion. Lots of changes coming to the Studios if all the rumors prove to be true.

We loved Mama Melrose's the last time we were there. Service was a little slow and our waiter was a little cranky, but the food was excellent. Which was a little bit of a shock compared to some reviews, so hopefully it will be good for you.

We've had pretty good service except once, but we've always enjoyed our meals there.

Sounds like a good day!

Thanks.

With that early of a pickup you should just stay up all night! :rotfl2: Hey - but the bonus is you are going out to breakfast with Andy.

Yes, I do like my bonus of breakfast with my son. :)

Great plans for your last day! :goodvibes

Thanks, MEK.

Yikes! That is an early morning pick-up! But how awesome that you still get to go out for Mother's Day breakfast... I think that helps with the early pick up time. :)

Yes, it does D; mom/son time can't be beat.

I think your last day looks great!

Thank you...I'm liking those plans myself.

I never did mind the hat too much... But what I did mind is that dumb stage set up in front of it... Glad it's gone. :thumbsup2

But is the stage permanently gone?

Looking forward to reading about your must-dos. ::yes::

D~

Thanks; I hope to get those up next week. I need to get caught up on everyone else's threads again.

We like to walk to DHS when we stay at an Epcot resort, too. We beat the boat every time. :thumbsup2

The boats are nice, but if you just miss one, it takes a while. We beat the boat last time too.

The hat was gone but there were construction walls in its place when we were last there. I don't know what Disney has planned for that spot but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a permanent stage. After all, Anna and Else will be back this summer and they need a stage. ;)

I was wondering about that. :confused3

We did this for the first time last September and I'm hoping we can get to do it again. Is it usually easy to get into a class first thing in the morning?

I'm not sure; we usually end up there around noon time, so I want to see how it is in the morning. I'll let you know.

Sorry things are crappy at work.. Hope it all slows down a bit for you.

Mo, it's been a lot of clean up with the partner leaving, and then my main boss is back after almost six weeks, so a lot of catching up with him.

Isn't this the BEST news ever?!?!? YAY!!!!!

Best news I've had in a long time.

4:30am is NOT magical... no way.. At least Andy will be picking you up for a special Mother's day breakfast.

No it's not; and I'll actually be leaving an hour earlier to go to the airport to get to Disney, but that's different.

love your FP picks! Especially ToT! Best ride EVER!

I'm with you...TOT is my favorite.

That's awesome news - thanks for sharing!

You are so welcome.

Last day, boooo :( But it sounds like a fun one! Wow, that's certainly an early wake up call for you! But at least you will have a nice Mother's Day breakfast to look forward to :)

Yes, I don't like last days either, but at least I'll be going back to Disney 61 days after I get home. :) Yes, I am looking forward to my breakfast...I don't see Andy (or Markie) as often as I'd like.

Other than Star Tours ( :rotfl:) sounds like a wonderful day at HS.

Yes, I'm not a big fan of Star Tours either, but did better on it last time.

Oh Mama Melrose! I need to get back there soon. I just love the Penne Pasta with chicken!

I truly don't remember what I got when I was there last year on the girls trip. :confused3

Yuck, that is an early pickup time, almost not worth going to bed at all.

You are probably right, but we will make it an earlier night, I'm sure.

Hey! Who asked you?

<Goes off and pouts>

Now, now, now...do I have to be here to supervise you two?

What a fun last day! It looks very different from our planned DHS day (Frozen singalong, Disney Jr. Show, etc). I love how the parks have something for everyone!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Do you know I've never seen the Disney Jr show? When you have kids, that park always looks different plan wise than others.

Your 4:30am pickup is the same day as Rory's 2nd birthday!:scared1:

I will remember to wish Rory a Happy 2nd Birthday. :)

Looks like a great day!! That is indeed an early morning. Though I do find that even if you have a later flight, you feel (at least I do) like you can't do that much on departure day without stress of making it to the plane on time...so I guess that's a plus...(trying to be positive) and you get home at a decent time.

Thank you. My flight in July is at 5:30 p.m. so the girls and I will at least stay at a park until noon. I'm figuring a 2:30 pick up for that one. I do get home at a very decent time. I've subscribed to your thread and promise to get back there by the end of the weekend.

Good gosh, that's an early pick-up! Your Hollywood Studios day sounds like a great one!

Thanks, Lisa. Yes, I know, but I've done it before.

I am so looking forward to not seeing the hat. Hopefully they have the walls down by the time we go, they are so pokey at doing things lately.

They really are slow at things...so unlike Disney.

I've never done Mama Melrose. We almost did in January, but ended up at Pizza Planet instead.

We like it; it's not the best Italian, but we've never had a bad meal.

That is a rough, rough wake up time and shock back to reality. At least you get a nice Mother's Day treat when you land! :)

Yes, a nice treat will soften the blow.

Oh man, that's an early pick up time! I guess the plus is you'll be home for most of Mother's Day?

Clare, yes, I'll be home for most of Mother's Day. And if I had actually THOUGHT before I booked, I would have realized that my husband won't even be home as he'll be at baseball games all day and who knows what Andy is doing after breakfast with me (probably golfing).

Your trip to Phoenix looked really fun! Glad you got to get to some nice weather for a bit!

We really had a good time; and I'm glad Mark got to see the girls as he won't see them again until who knows when. The weather was gorgeous.

Your HS day looks great. You have FP+ for the best attractions, it looks like.

I think so too...at least in my eyes (since I hate Rock & Roll).

And yay for banning selfie sticks! I was happy when I read that.

Me too, Clare.

Happy very late birthday to Alisha! :bday:

Thank you.

I am so sorry for falling behind! I love reading your comments and replies to everyone that is able to reply to your posts!!! You're just so sweet and there's something about your posts that sound so genuine! It's awesome!!

You are very sweet to say that. I've found that genuine is the best policy.

I will send you a private message with the instructions and hopefully that will help.

Again, I love your posts and I love catching up!! (Even if it is super late :()

No worries; I subscribed to yours and still have to catch up. I plan on catching up everywhere by the end of the weekend.

:welcome: Thank you for posting; I'm always happy to have a new follower. I'm sorry your husband doesn't care for Disney. Have you thought of doing a solo trip? I know a lot of people here do them and love them. We used to drive; but I don't like taking two days to get there. :rotfl2:

How many times?

Not as many times as I will on Sunday when I get home if I want to stay awake. :lmao::lmao:

:jumping1:

It just never fit, did it Andy?

Good luck with that one... :rolleyes1

Yes, your experience was not good.

Oh, but I'm sure since it is you, your service will be second to none and the food delicious.

Kind of like you with Whispering Canyon. Speaking of Whispering Canyon, you might see a little surprise when it comes to the July PTR. ;)

Heck, I forget what I read in the PTR by the time the TR rolls around anyway. :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

So do I...just don't tell anyone.

Looks like a nice Mothers Day. You know... aside from that part about leaving the World.

Thanks...I think so too.

Day 6 sounds great!! We tired out the MGM Starbucks this last trip and Sken was not impressed, but I enjoyed it!

Thanks, Casey. Does Sken not like Starbucks? Or was it just the one at the Studios?

Love Star Tours, and TSMM. RnRC single rider would be something I would do too! The way the ride is set up it doesn't matter who you are next to lol!

I like that they offer single rider for those who don't have any one to go with.

I think I would walk to MGM as well, despite the fact that Disney clearly can't spell. It is a lovely walk over, and just being able to walk to a park feels special.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:you crack me up, Rob. I love being able to walk to two parks from the Boardwalk.

Perhaps One Man's Dream????? Kathy. You know you HAVE to go there!!!!!!

Yes, I am sure that will get added to the list.

:dance3: party: :jumping1:

Next up I hope... Tablets!!

I'm with you on that one too!

I'm sure you did! And looks like you also had a nice time to boot.

It really was a fun trip.

:snort:

(Is your laptop in your pouty corner... with a PTR open? ;) )

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Yes, was your laptop with you? :lmao:

Maybe... I don't have to answer that.

Or you don't want to? ;)

You two are cracking me up.

Ok Kathy, time to get caught up. Oh, and welcome back from Phoenix... Now that you received your MB's (saw on FB) let the Disney countdown begin.

:wave:Bob. Thank you...we had so much fun with the girls. Yes, the MB's arrived. :)

Having to take the Unmagical Express back to the airport at the end of a Disney vacation is bad enough, but at 4:30 am sure adds salt to the wound. :crazy2:

Yes, I hope the bus driver is loud to let me know when we've arrived.

:rotfl:

You are a smart and wise man.

What would a PTR be from KatMark without a mention of Starbucks in the plans. I knew it would be in there. :goodvibes

Now you sound like Andy.

I am in agreement with you about the hat at HS. I never cared for it, and can't wait to see an unobstructed view of the Great Movie Ride as I'm walking down Hollywood Blvd.

It just didn't fit in the spot they had it...anywhere else would have been fine, but I want to see the theater.

We don't go every year, but we like it. Mark had the Chicken Parmesan a couple of times and enjoyed it. An off day for you, perhaps?
Nice selection of FP+ selections, especially the TSM and ToT. I sure wish Carolyn and Alyssa liked ToT; I have to beg them to go on with me. :earseek:

The next time we are there at the same time, I'll go on TOT with you. :)

Nice way to finish out a vacation is to be greeted by Andy and taken out to breakfast once you arrive back in Chicago. Hopefully you won't fall asleep in the restaurant from that 4:30 am pick up. :goodvibes

No falling asleep. We'll stop at Starbucks first. :drinking1
