Wonderful to hear you're having a great time! Love the photo!
You know, Kathy, you mentioned your PTR on my TR...
And while I've popped over here from time to time (I'm not a big PTR fan) I suddenly realized that I haven't subscribed to catch the (hopefully) inevitable link to the TR.
So here is I.
You've made the rounds quite a lot tonight.
(We'll make a Pre-trippie junkie out of you yet.)
So you're saying I'm a DIS-tramp?
Oddly enough, I'm okay with that.
Nope.
Well... maybe.
So you're saying I'm a DIS-tramp?
Oddly enough, I'm okay with that
Well, kinda maybe. Sure, why not, especially since you're ok with it.
See?! Ok, back to egg dying, and then your thread.(I've never used that one before, thought I'd try it on for size....)
It's what makes us all so "special."
Loving it, I'm glad I found you to follw. I get a lot of info from reading your postsI am going to do a short update here as I then need to catch up on all my subscribed threads that I am woefully behind on again. I need to get caught up because the kids are coming in this weekend unexpectedly and we leave in just 40 days for my first ever trip to Phoenix to see Mary, Jeff and the girls (MaryAZ here on the DIS and my girls' travel partner).
So you have the who is going...me and Nicki and Todd the first half of the trip and then me and my friend, Mary the second half of the trip and the dates again are May 3 - 10.
Where am I staying? I'll be staying here for the third time
I've always been in a Studio when we've stayed at the Boardwalk. But things will be a little different this trip. For some reason when Mary booked for me, we couldn't get ALL of the nights in a Studio. We could get the first night, not the second, then the next three nights, but then I'd have to move rooms. Mary thought this was all crazy so she said she was booking me a one-bedroom villa for my stay but only charging me for a Studio. Can you say WOW! I sure did. Then to top it off, she got me a Boardwalk View. I am so stoked to try a one-bedroom here and to have this lovely view
I have a very early morning flight on Sunday, May 3, and will be landing in Orlando at 9:44 a.m. I will get on the Magical Express and head to the Boardwalk. I will check in and know that my room will not be ready. But I will drop off my laptop and carry on with bell services and then walk right over to Epcot where Nicki will be waiting for me with a Venti Starbucks in hand as I'll need it to continue throughout the day.
We don't have our FP+ selections yet as we can't make those until March 4 (I'll include those in the final plans). We will probably spend a good portion of the time in World Showcase as there will be booths with food and wine during Flower & Garden. We have a dinner ADR at the new Trattoria al Forno on the Boardwalk and are looking forward to eating there (Andy and Des ate there in December and raved about it). I'm sure we might stroll a bit on the Boardwalk into the shops, etc., but will make it an early night as we have a VERY early morning planned on Monday.
Darn! We will be at the Studios on the 9th. And I'll be on the unmagical express at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, the 10th, heading home. I wish it would have worked. If your plans change (or ours do) let me know.
I do eat steak and chicken but it's the spices and sauces that they use on the meat that I don't like.
Now I understand.
And a Happy Birthday to Alisha!
Happy Birthday, Alisha! I know you feel very fortunate to have her as a part of your family, and I'm sure she feels the same way about you. I hope she has a wonderful, healthy, happy year!
Have fun on your trip to AZ!
Thanks; we had a great time visiting with Mary and family. Didn't get a lot of sightseeing, but we had a blast.
Sounds like a solid morning at AK! Yum, dinner at Teppan Edo. I like your idea to sample some desserts/cocktails afterward!
Me too; this way I can sample a few things.
Happy Birthday to your "daughter"! Beautiful picture of the two of you.
Happy Birthday to Alisha! I am always thrilled to hear that you have such a great bond with her. I get along great with my mother-in-law and I feel really sorry when I hear about situations where mom does not get along with her son's wife.
Thanks, Dee. She truly is a sweetheart and I love her to the moon and back and would do anything for her, as she would for us. I too know of several of those that don't get along with their MIL and it breaks my heart.
So sorry that one of your bosses will be leaving and that you will miss him. Do you think someone else will join the firm or will you just have the two there?
I worked for three attorneys and now down to two. We are the largest (or second largest) law firm in Chicago. New people will be coming in and I'm sure I will get assigned to one of them. They don't put too much on me (some people work for five attorneys) because they know I will be leaving next year.
Your day at AK sounds really good. You are hitting the biggies. But I didn't see Primevil Hurl on your list!
And you won't see Primevil Hurl on my list.
AK is a half-day park for us, so going over to EPCOT sounds like a great idea. We haven't been to Teppan Edo in about 10 years but we used to love it. The boys love going to the Japanese Hibachi places, so we normally do them elsewhere and choose other restaurants in Disney.
See, I like AK much better than the Studios and we can usually make it a 2/3 day park. I chose Teppan Edo because we didn't get to go to our usual on Marco so this will make up for it (I didn't like the one that Andy took us to for our birthday dinners).
EPCOT is a park I can go to without any plans, and just enjoy the atmosphere.
I'm in total agreement with you there.
:
PS- If I don't make it back here, have a fantastic time visiting your girls in Phoenix!!!

Wow... busy! Sorry one of your well liked co-workers is leaving... but you have some excitement to look forward to!
I was really sorry to see him go. There was a slight chance at the end he might stay ,but it didn't work out.
Oh, we'll see...
She already knows where to find me when she exits the ride.
Oh, I'm sure she'd want to see you light up when you see Tigger.
Or she might think I've totally lost my mind.
Sounds wonderful!
I like to repay extraordinary kindness.
This is a solid plan. Who needs FP+ when you have booths full of desserts and cocktails?
I'm in Tinley Park, southern suburbs. Cook County. You're not too far from me.![]()
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALISHA!!!!!!!! 24 is a great age!!! I miss my 20's![]()
Happy Belated Birthday to Alisha!
Thanks, Darla.
AK in the morning, then hopping over to Epcot? Sounds wonderful! Your plans are shaping up nicely!
I AM FINALLY CAUGHT UP!!!! I can't even believe it myself. I blame the Girl Scouts now. I volunteered to be a Cookie Mom and it's taken up a lot of time recently.
I always blamed my kids...it's them that make us crazy busy at that age.
I love your plans. All of them. My favorite day is your MK day all day. I love spending a whole day there.
Thanks!
I'm so glad to see Coral Reef in your plans. It always gets such mixed reviews, but we really loved it.
We have never had a bad meal there. And they have THE best dessert.
Add me to the list of people glad to see you won't be going in the scary clown pool! Everything about Boardwalk is amazing, and then they had to throw that horrendous thing in there. Seriously, who imagineered that up?
If you find out, let me know!
So Gurnee Mills. I haven't been there in years. Do they have a Disney Store there? I think we need to make a trip down there. It's less than an hour from our house. We have no excuse!
Yes; there is a Disney store there. I love going there once or twice a year (and then we head over to Pleasant Prairie?
Happy belated to Alisha!
She says thank you.
And the nice weather was fun well it lasted, wasn't it?
Kathy, have a fabulous trip to AZ! You're going to love it!
Thanks, Liesa. We had a great visit.
Happy birthday to Alisha. I saw that on FB and I hope she had a lovely birthday celebration.
Alisha says thank you. She had a great long week of celebrating.
Ahhh, AK... what can be said? Such a lovely, serene park with so many relaxing things to do. I could spend all day just wandering the trails and window shopping. 2:30 ought to be plenty of time to get to Teppan. Which is also a great pick for dinner. Chased by cocktails sounds like a picture perfect plan!
I AM SO BEHIND! Catching up now!
Great plans!!
Thanks, Lee.
Happy belated birthday Alisha!!
Love our mornings at AK. It's more of a relaxing feel than the other parks, especially with having preplanned FPs.
Mornings are the best time there...everything is so fresh and relaxing...just as you said.
Never tried TE, but Katsura Grill is MY must-have. It's my favorite counter service, sort of comfort food for me.
Day 6 sounds great, Animal Kingdom and then Epcot, lovely!Too bad you have to miss out on EE, but I guess I can understand that if your not a roller coaster fan! I love Festival of the Lion King, and I feel like it's been forever since I've seen it, we got shut out in September like 3 times, so we gave up, and then in December, we didn't even do AK, so it's been a while!
It's not that I'm not a fan of roller coasters, Jen. I love them. They just don't love me anymore. I always get a FP for Lion King so we don't miss it.
I've only been to Teppan Edo once, and from what I remember, it was really good, it's fun watching the chef cook everything right in front of you!
I agree...it's fun watching the chef prepare your food and do his tricks.
And wandering around WS is one of my favorite things to do, so if there aren't any FP's left, it will still be a fun night!
I'm thinking drinking and eating will make up for lack of FP.
Happy belated birthday Alisha!![]()
Day 6 sounds nearly perfect! We love Everest, but otherwise your plan sounds like my kind of AK day.
Playing catch up after a few days with my niece and nephew. Looks like a wonder day at AK! Happy belated Birthday Alisha!
Jill in CO
Sorry I have been missing, Kathy. I guess I read one of your updates in the preview and I didn't get any more notifications. Too much to comment on, but I am all caught up. And just a short note - all your planned days look great!!!!!!!
Kathy, sorry to get behind but I wanted to come on here and say I hope you have a great time in Arizona this week. And while your at it, could you bring some of that warm weather and sunshine with back with you to the Great Lakes region of the country. I am so tired of this cold and snow.![]()
I fell behind as I've been away from the DIS for a few weeks! I'm all caught up now, though.
Yay...glad you are back.
I'm sorry you're sick and hope that you are still able to enjoy Phoenix!
Have a great trip! Enjoy the warm weather... maybe that will get rid of your cold!
Feel better and have a great trip!!!
Have a great trip!!!!!
i hope the dry heat will help out with that cold of yours!
Have a great time! Safe travels!!!
Safe travels today! Have fun!
D~
Hope you have a great time in AZ! So much better than the old Midwest! Enjoy!
Give the girls a big hug for me!
Hi Kathy! I am finally back and all caught up! Hope you enjoy your time in AZ!!
Well, just a cup of their Kona coffee, not a cup from their french press. I wish! But the cup was still delicious.
You must go back for a pot of the french press.
I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully your relationship with the guy that's been there for 2 years will get better over time.
He's not a bad guy; just don't think he's very motivated and I can't work in the laid back fashion he does.
Saw you made it to Phoenix safe and already enjoying the weather!
Yes we did, and the weather was fabulous.
You are a good friend indeed!
See...we think alike and must hook up at Disney sometime.
Aw, haven't been to Teppan Edo in years! I really enjoyed it when we went back in 2010.
How nice! Hope you feel better!
That's an awesome pic! Have fun!!!!!!
Great picture! I bet you're also loving the fact you can go outside without a coat and not freeze to death!Have a fantastic visit!
You guys look so happy!!
We were thrilled to see our girls again.
I'm guessing that warmer weather, and hugs from sweet little ladies has helped your cold!
Great picture! Enjoy the warm weather! Have fun!
D~
Awww, great picture, Kathy!!! I hope you're feeling much better! Looks like you're having a great time.![]()
YAY!!!
I know your enjoying every minute of it! bring home some of that warm weather with you please!!!
Awwww, cute picture! So glad you are having a wonderful time.
Great picture! I hope you're having tons of fun with Mary & family!
Lovely photo! You look so very happy!
You not only look happy but you look warm.
Happy and warm are a good combo.
You are lucky to have escaped the cold weather. I hope you have a great time.![]()
I know already on Facebook that you're having a good time! Keep on enjoying the good company and the good weather.
just so you know..
It's snowing...
Enjoy your visit with those lovely girls and please bring home some warmer temperatures and sunshine! The four letter word has reappeared here in the Chicagoland area.
Kathy, you could not have picked a better week to head to Phoenix. This week as usual has been cold... no make that very cold... and let's not forget that word "snow." I am so jealous of you and Mark right now.Enjoy the rest of your trip.
What a cute picture, I hope you had a great time in Phoenix! (Well, I guess I already know you did from FB, but still!)
Hi Kathy!
Roni.
I know you have been having some great travels. I'm so glad - I know it was good to escape the never-ending winter.
It was so good to get away...even if only for four days...to escape the cold and snow.
I think we arrive on July 29 - most of our trip is in August. I can't remember your dates right now though, so I have no idea whether we will overlap.
We do not overlap. We are there July 10 - 18. I hope one of these trips that our paths will cross.
Our last trip was summer 2013; as you know, we spent 2014 (and the early part of 2015) visiting DLR as often as we could.Excited to return to the other parks!
I did it! I caught up before your trip! It only took me four days. I really was trying to read it all while you were in AZ. Sounds like a great trip planned. I agree your picture from AZ looks great. Love seeing all the smiling faces. Hope you enjoyed the warm weather. Hope you lost your cold.
Looks like a great DIS meet in Phoenix! I am sure it was nice to enjoy that sunshine!
The sunshine was a welcome sight since we've not seen much of it here.
Your AK plans look like all of the best parts. We haven't done Teppan Edo in years. We have several good hibachi places in our hometown now, so it isn't as special as it used to be, but I know the food will be YUMMY!
Hi Kathy, I'm a long time lurker but am finally posting on some TRs. Really enjoying yours so far - hope Phoenix continues to be fabulous and that you recover from your cold![]()
i know you back around here somewhere.. Just wanted to say HI!!!
I promise there will be a link for a TR; if I don't, some people here might hang me.
So here is I.
You've made the rounds quite a lot tonight.(We'll make a Pre-trippie junkie out of you yet.)
I saw that too as I was trying to catch up.
Kathy, welcome back!! Saw your photos on FB and I"m so happy you had a great time!
So you're saying I'm a DIS-tramp?
I'm going to keep quiet on that one.
Oddly enough, I'm okay with that.
For some reason, this does not surprise me.
Nope.
Well... maybe.
Hi Kathy!I saw your pictures on FB and I'm so glad you and Mr. Mark had fun in AZ!
Thanks, Casey.
I started a TR for my March trip. It's only up to day one right now, but it will be picking up soon!!
Okay I am caught up. I will admit I used the links in the beginning so not sure if things were written as comments. The trip sounds like it will be fun.
Your trip is gettiing so close!!
Well, kinda maybe. Sure, why not, especially since you're ok with it.
I thought the same, Liesa.
See?! Ok, back to egg dying, and then your thread.(I've never used that one before, thought I'd try it on for size....)
It's what makes us all so "special."
I'm okay with a lot of things.
Most of them not so flattering to me for some strange reason.
It's what makes you unique!

All caught up (finally)!
Loving it, I'm glad I found you to follw. I get a lot of info from reading your posts![]()
I definitely will! If you decide to catch wishes since it's your last night or something, I'm just saying, there'll be a group of four people slowly backing away from the mom who is clearly losing her grip on calm in the MK that night!
(In case you were wondering, I meant me, not my MIL. I'm almost SURE I'm going to cry, and have to explain to Squeaker why sometimes people cry when they're happy.)
PTR's can be fun; and trust me, the trips (at least mine) rarely end up like the PTR.
