No Ticker Needed, I Live 10 Mins From WDW!! (9/9/12)

WHY DO THE PLANS ALWAYS HAVE TO CHANGE??!!!

HI DIS FRIENDS!!! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I had a fun filled day yesterday with Erin and Livy at MK and then with 2 of my friends at Epcot today!! The parks are still pretty busy but I'm hoping they will die down soon! This weekend, I'm having a mini CP Roomie reunion with 3 of my roommates from my college program! I'm not sure what the weekend will bring so I'm going to go with the flow!! Tomorrow my stitches come out from my surgery and I'm going to call my dr. on my lunch break because my 4th and 5th fingers have been tingling every since my tetanus shot from my spider bite so I"m thinking they hit a nerve or something??!! Does anyone know if this is normal??!! I tried google but you know that's never a good thing....Anyways, I hope everyone has a great week!!

DAY THREE: SATURDAY MARCH 24, 2012

Yes, the schedule ALWAYS has to change! Our plans for the day were to go to DHS for opening, do some shows we haven't seen in a while, pool time, shower, and head for Hoop Dee Doo!

But we never made it to DHS, or ANY DISNEY PARK for that matter.

Where did we end up...

120.jpg

Bro had some tickets to use and since they weren't blocked, it was hot out, and we are apparently schedule changers now, we went.

Bro suggested we get there super early and we did which was good because they actually opened up IOA 25 mins early!

123.jpg

124.jpg

He also suggested we head right for Spiderman since it had just reopened and we rode it twice without a wait! Its a great ride now! After spiderman, we headed for the castle...

But we had to stop and take a look at dad's favorite ride..

125.jpg

127.jpg

Is it me or is this themed really well too??
128.jpg

129.jpg

FINALLY TO THE CASTLE!!

131.jpg

132.jpg

133.jpg

We got there, waited for bro to come out to greet us, and the ride goes down. We said bye to bro and went on a hunt for Butterbeer!!

138.jpg

Frozen is my choice!!

We went and rode Cat and the Hat and went back to the castle and finally rode!!

135.jpg

136.jpg

139.jpg

When we got to the belt to get on, mom forgot she needs to sit on the outside so we had literally 5 seconds to get out and switch seats so she was on the end and I was in the middle. Bro said he watched in the control tower and just laughed :rotfl2: We would be the ones to stop the ride..:rolleyes1

After saying bye to bro, we went for water adventures..

130.jpg

We sat in the front row and got SOAKED! While we were at it, we went to Toon Lagoon to Ripsaw Falls and Popeye rides. We were dripping went after the 3 and decided to head out.

Once we made it to my car, we covered the seats with bags, towels from the POFQ pool, and drove back to POFQ!

Once back to the resort, dad declares that he wants lunch at DTD Earls so back in the car we go and change our lunch plans yet again from lunch at POFQ to DTD where we'd have to fight Saturday Spring Break crowds :furious: Of course Dad found a spot with no problem..figures. lol.

I got the All American and mom and I split our chips and cupcake!

140.jpg

After lunch we went back to POFQ for pool time and to get ready for HDD!! I did manage to snap a pic of my braids. Not as good as the girl at GF or the one at Vero Beach but still nice to have!

142.jpg

We were waiting for bro to arrive when mom makes a discovery...

WE'RE ABOUT TO LEAVE FOR HDD AND DISCOVER THAT 8 OF OUR TS CREDITS ARE GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UP NEXT:

~WILL WE MAKE IT TO HDD SINCE OUR CREDITS ARE GONE???

Woah, look at you blowing the plan away!

I'm excited to see the new Spiderman. All of the press releases about it were a little vague, so I'm curious about it.

Mmmm, Earl of Sandwich. I'm kind of jealous right now.

Wow, you had a busy weekend! And, I hope you have a another great weekend with your friends this weekend!
My best friend & her family started their very 1st WDW vacation today!
She has triplets & her husbands sent me a text today saying he was stressed! They went to MK today. Do you think it will be crowded this week? I hope not, I want them to have a great time.

I loved looking at your Universal pictures. I would love to see WWoHP!

It was good!! The screen is so clear now!!

Congratulations!!!:yay:

Thanks!!

Based on the wait times from my one App, it didn't seem busy at all!!!

Gotta love the WWOHP. Aww I want to go back there.

I am very anxious to hear where you'll be working as a seasonal CM. popcorn::

Congratulations on your summer WDW job! :goodvibes
I'm excited to read where you will be at!

Congratulations Megan, that is very exciting news  Can't wait to see where you're working - I'm sure it will be quite different from your days at BBB!

Good for you for changing up the plans when an oppotunity came up, sounds like you had a fun time! Have the crowds gotten more manageable at WWOHP? From your pictures it didn't seem to be the crush of people you usually see, and "only" a 30 min. wait for one of the rides.

Hope everything got sorted out with your dining credits before dinner.

The crowds were pretty good! We thought it was pretty busy but we never have to wait for bro's ride which is good and that 30 mins was NOT 30 mins, it changed shortly after that pic to 80!!

HOOP DEE DOO!!!!

HEY DIS FRIENDS!!! I hope everyone had a great weekend!! Mine was jam packed!! On Thursday, 2 of my former CP roomies arrived for a reunion weekend. It has been 4 years since we moved out of CP housing so it was fitting for a spontaneous reunion of sorts! We were just missing two girls of 6 so it's pretty good! We did the parks, went to City Walk, out for meals, and overall had a great time catching up on the last four years! This weekend, I'm going to the beach down near Bradenton and I'm super excited about that!!

I'm trying to rack my brain as to what to do for Memorial Day Weekend. I'm off 3 days and all of my friends here will be at work, flights home are too much, Vero Beach resort is sold out, and I'm not familiar with any other beaches to attempt them alone so we'll see! I was thinking maybe a night at Disney just because?! I'm secretly hoping that when I do my paperwork at Casting on Wednesday they will let me take Traditions over Memorial Day and begin training the following week, fingers crossed!

In other news, my bro and his fiancee are talking about doing a destination wedding...TO AULANI IN HAWAII!!!! He's never been a huge family man and her family is pretty small too. CMs get pretty good discounts on room and wedding packages so fingers crossed for that too but it won't be until around Dec 2013..a lot can happen in a year and half lol!

NOW FOR THE REPORT...

DAY THREE: MARCH 24, 2012

When I left off, we had discovered that 8 of our TS credits were missing!!!

I quickly called down to the front desk where after 5 mins, we were told that after you hit the 24 hr cancellation policy for Hoop Dee Doo, the credits are automagically taken out which seems odd but it's policy and we were heading there anyways!!

We piled into my car and headed over to Ft. Wilderness! After parking and waiting for a bus with gobs of people, we realized we could have/should have parked at WL and taken the boat over!

After 20 mins the buses came and we piled on!

143.jpg

144.jpg

We decided not to get the picture. We already had the princess one from Norway and weren't planning on buying it so we didn't even take it!

In no time, we were heading inside and shown to our seats for the 7:15pm show!

145.jpg

We had Cat. 3 seats which turned out pretty darn good! You had to turn to see the stage but with swivel seats, it was pretty easy to do! The only thing that was different was that we were split by tables. Dad and I sat at a table for 2 and mom and bro were next to us at a table for two. It left for a walk way and extra moving room which ended up being good and helpful!

146.jpg

147.jpg

I'll preface this by saying that the first time I saw this show I was a CP, I was also the DD, and had worked a 12 hour day, + we went to the late show so I was not hungry, couldn't booze, and was tired as could be = not a good experience..

WOULD THIS ONE BE DIFFERENT??

Our server came for drinks and I got a Diet and Sangria!

149.jpg

And the show started..

157.jpg

160.jpg

Within 5 mins we had laughed so hard and I was glad this experience was way better than my first!

I ate my weight in corn bread and everything else that was brought..except the beans!

161.jpg

162.jpg

163.jpg

I was glad that the show was in a break during the main eating time. It was nice to sit and enjoy the food while making small talk!

166.jpg

167.jpg

168.jpg

170.jpg

My only gripe...they did not leave you to eat your dessert and kept the show going. At that point it was hard to eat and watch the show but we managed. Some people remained seated after the show to eat dessert but they were pushing people out. The dessert was amazing though!

171.jpg

172.jpg

176.jpg

175.jpg

After the show, we piled onto a bus and were back to the car in no time!

Once back at the resort, we were full, happy, and ready for bed!

Overall, we all LOVED the show and would go again! I love the Luau but now I also love HDR!!!! In our opinion, it was worth every penny!!!

~WILL WE MAKE OUR FIRST MK ROPE DROP IN 5+ YEARS??!!!

The Hoop de Doo looks like it is so much fun. We've never done it, because we can do similar things at Myrtle Beach, but we may want to rethink that.

I love HDDR! It's been a while since I've seen it, but it's so much fun. I'm glad that you had a better experience the second time around.

That would be so cool if your brother had a destination wedding in Hawaii. That would be absolutely beautiful!

I'm so glad you liked the Hoop De Doo. It's been years since I've last been but did really enjoy it. My husband was brought on stage to be part of the show which was so funny.

That would be awesome to go to Hawaii for a wedding!
Great write-up & pictures of the HDDR. I would love to see it one time!

MOM GETS TO BE A MIND READER!!!!

HI DIS FRIENDS!!! Sorry it's been so long since I've updated but life has been super busy with work and personal life!!! We had our last school event on Friday (Art Show) and it just hit me that the room will need to be put back together tomorrow morning..ugh! I dislike Sunday!!!

Yesterday I had my Disney Traditions class which was good! They took us in the "tunnel" and we had to find examples of the 4 Disney Basics. We also had lunch there and I ran into several CMs that I used to work with which was nice! I got my work ID and name tag! After the class we got our training schedules. I got scheduled to train today and then on Tuesday...they obviously didn't read that I can't start till the 2nd so I had to have that switched to June 2, only to find out that on my CM site, they scheduled me to work for the next two weeks. WHAT A HEADACHE!!! I put a call into the training dept at DHS so I'm not out of the woods yet in terms of working but I have high hopes they will work with me!!! Please pray/happy thoughts for me that everything works out! Not only do I have to tell them I can't start till the 2nd but also that I have limited availability during my teacher training and that my last day of availability is the 27th of July!

I'm going home for 3 days over Memorial Day Weekend which I can't wait!!!

NOW FOR THE REPORT...

SUNDAY MARCH 25, 2012

When I left off, we had a great night at HDD and were ready for our first park open at MK since at least 2007, no joke!!!

Breakfast:

185.jpg

We got there with 20 mins to spare and it was already pretty busy. Dad wanted to know a game plan so I told him..NEW FANTASYLAND!!!!

190.jpg

195.jpg

That show really does give me chills!!!

I love this:

196.jpg

We made our way down main street and towards the new area..

MY CASTLE!!

200.jpg

204.jpg

Our mission was new Dumbo and then the Goofy roller coaster!

218.jpg

216.jpg

215.jpg

220.jpg

226.jpg

After new Dumbo and the roller coaster, we went to old Fantasyland and hit Peter Pan, Small World, Snow White, and Pooh!!

We went into Tomorrowland and got a FP for Space Mt and went on Buzz!

Check this out Danielle!!!

228.jpg

After Buzz, Dad insisted we go to Laugh Floor. When we sat down, we were in the middle and on an end..guess who got picked to be a mind reader!!!!

MOM!!!!

229.jpg

230.jpg

232.jpg

234.jpg

235.jpg

She was a great sport and loved it!!! She was not the first in our family to be chosen! A few years ago, my uncle got to be 'That Guy!' Dad was thankful he was not chosen!!!

After a few mins of laughs, we headed out to finish out Tomorrowland and went on a mission to find some lunch!!

STAY TUNED!!

LOL, that's great your mom was featured in the Laugh Floor!

I am assuming you are talking about the 4 "keys" that you had to find examples of? We did that on the KTTK tour which was actually sort of fun-it felt like I was going through part of Traditions!

Good luck getting everything straightened out with the scheduling!

Sending you some pixiedust: and good luck that your scheduling works out well and you get the outcome you want. Love your recent update and looking forward to more in the future.

Yes, the 4 keys!!! They pound that method in you like you wouldn't believe!!! It is very similar to traditions and your park orientation, it's like both put together! Thanks for the happy thoughts! I've submitted my availability on the site so we'll see from there!

HI DISNEY FRIENDS!!!!!

Just thought I'd spread some pixie dust of jealousy to all of you! Today while at work, another Dis'er (Joanna) posted on FB that she was at the Art of Animation CM preview. I wrote and asked if you had to RSVP and she responded no, it was open till 6, and you could wear whatever! After work, I rushed over and spent about 50 mins there!! After walking into the lobby, you were handed a map and could collect stamps at the different locations and after you got a special pin but they ran out of them by the time I got there

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post pics since it's not officially open so I won't yet but I'll do a mini review!

PARKING LOT:

Upon pulling in, I was in Awe!! It is somewhat like POP but better..hard to explain??

You could park to the left or right and walk in. You can also pull up to the front if you are checking in. I guess you can just leave your car under the overhang area.

LOBBY, GIFT SHOP, FOOD COURT, AND ARCADE:

The lobby was amazing! I loved all the wall art and the kids TV area is really cute! The gift shop is much like POP's and had resort specific merchandise. I got a cup, mug, magnet, and pen. It was $38 for everything which was after my CM discount. The food court is what I fell in love with! The wall art is all very soft and they had drink refill stations EVERYWHERE!! The arcade was free for the day but I just took a pic but there were tons of people in there!

NEMO POOL:

The pool was really cute! We weren't allowed in the fenced area but from the outside looking in, it looked great! I'm assuming that the pool is room key access only. I liked how they had a mug refill station at the pool bar so you don't have to go into the food court to refill drinks! It also looked like they had towels right at the pool too. No hot tub though..my only complaint at this point!!

NEMO ROOMS:

I fell in love with the room upon entering! The swipe key looks really cool (much like the cruise..I wouldn't know anything about that!) The suite I went in had the table bed pulled down and there was still plenty of room! The didn't have the couch pulled out but they did have Stacy on the TV! The master bedroom-bathroom had a shower and the main bathroom had a tub. The shampoo bottle was so cute, it has mickey ears!!! The little kitchenette area looked good too and was spacious! You could fit 4 adults in there easily, 6 adults..that's a toss-up, IMO.

CARS AREA:

The room was exactly the same only Cars. I'm not a huge fan of those movies but it was themed well. I was running low on time so I didn't check out the pool but it looked gated as well. There was sand around the side walks which I was told by a CM that they are removing the sand as too many people have been falling or tripping because of it :rotfl: IMO, I wouldn't rush to get a Cars room but I'm sure there are others who would choose that over Nemo..to each their own!!!

Well that's my review at this point..sorry about no pics!!

I would stay there in a heart beat and we're debating about switching from Riverside to AOA and if not, I might try and stay there sometime in July as CMs get 60%/50% off AOA for the summer!!

Any questions...LET ME KNOW!!
