LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Hi Dis Friends!!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend I had such a nice weekend. I spent Friday having a "me" night by going to the gym, having dinner, and watching TV. Sometimes as a teacher, you NEED those nights! Yesterday, I went to TL with my roomie and a friend. I met my brother in the afternoon at DHS and we ate at Sci Fi (sorry there's no review but it was the best service I've had there!). Last night I just chilled and did laundry! Today, I went back to TL and stayed for 4 hours and it was HOT!! 87, feels like 97!! I did some shopping for a Halloween outfit in case I go to MNSSHP next week with some CM friends. I'm not into costumes but found a pumpkin shirt and got some festive ribbon at Michaels and thought I might buy some Halloween mickey ears


Before I give more updates on our Sept/Oct mini vacation, here's how Labor Day went!!

FRIDAY SEPT 2 AND SAT SEPT 3, 2011

I just spent the two days relaxing and cleaned a little. My brother was able to come and fix my Ikea bed but he was sick so we didn't end up going to a park which is what we had planned. I ended up getting take-out and watching Disney's Prom from Redbox..it was such a cute movie!!!!!

SUNDAY SEPT 4, 2011

I started my holiday weekend by waking up at 8am..eek! I decided that I would have a "me" day by going to MK and Epcot.

I left my apt and decided to park at Epcot and take the monorail to MK!

It was when I was on the platform that I realized I forgot my chapstick FL heat..I would not survive the day without some so I came up with a plan after I got to TTC!

(They already have the pumpkins in place for MNSSHP)

My first stop..

After getting some chapstick at the gift shop (paid $1.75 with my AP discount), I got back onto the monorail to my destination!

When I arrived, I fully expected it to be busy which it was but I didn't mind!

HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a nice day, I figured why not take some castle pics!

A bunch of people asked what I was taking in the water haha. They caught on..

My one and only attraction stop at MK:

It was then that I had noticed in the Time's Guide that Casey's was closed! There was also a sign outside:

The show was cute!!

LABOR DAY WEEKEND PART II



After Tiki Room, it was around 11:30am and I was getting hungry so I had a toss up between Tortuga Tavern or Pecos. I tried TT since I hadn't eaten there before:

Nachos and an ice water was $7.77 and it was really good!

After my little lunch I took some more pics and headed back to Epcot.

Once I got to Epcot, I went on a mini mission to ride a ton!

First stop..

I headed to The Land next and saw the Lion King show and went on:

Figment and EO were next and then a snack!

Nemo and Turtle Talk were next!

After those I headed to WS. I had seen all the films except America so that was my stop. I debated about an early dinner at UK Fish and Chips but declined and got a pretzel and diet coke at America, ate inside, and got to the show just in time to hear Voices of Liberty. The show was as good as always and when I walked out, it was pouring!!! At that point I decided to head home and didn't even put my poncho on..it's a long walk in the rain haha.


MONDAY SEPT 5, 2011

I was very thankful that I had the day off!

The plan was to go to TL with friends and then have dinner at Epcot with another friend.

I got up at 7am..eek! I decided to go grocery shopping and Target was of course dead at 8am!

My friends had an extra Water Park ticket but I decided to just buy the $100 AP for the water parks and headed to TL at 9:30am.

I got my spot and 2 other lounge chairs for my friends who showed up at 11am, lol. We only did the wave pool and lazy river but it was still fun! At 1:30pm we left and I went home to shower and relax till my dinner date!

Here's pics of the new water park mugs...my beef with them

THE LID DOES NOT CLOSE LIKE THE RESORT MUGS!!!!!

#1..do they not know that sand is EVERYWHERE?!
#2..do they not know that there are bugs EVERYWHERE?!

The old mugs closed and were larger. I don't mind the size since it's free to refill but the other feature did bug me!

I have 2 of the mugs now. My one mug has a Monday and Saturday and I bought another one today for Sunday so I'm good to go!

I ended up leaving for Epcot at 4pm.

We were able to check in for our Nine Dragons ADR an hour early. There were only 4 tables being used! I got the 3 course meal with the soup, honey chicken, and ginger ice cream. My friend got the fried rice which was huge and she took 1/2 home. My meal was $24 including my TIW discount and tip.

After dinner we went on TT and waited 15 mins!

We took the monorail to MK to see the decorations and waited 10 min for Space Mt. We rode TTA after that and headed home!


**Well that's Labor Day Weekend! I'm glad I got the water park AP. I've used it 3x already and love having it! There aren't any block-out dates so I'm able to use it in the summer too!!


Next weekend, I'm meeting my friend Katie on Sunday and we're going to USO/IOA so that will be fun going to "the other parks" with 2 Disney Lovers!!

First of all, the picture of you guys at the Osborne Lights makes me sad I'm not going for Christmas . One of these days I'll get back to see the decorations! BUT...I seriously cannot wait to see all of the fall stuff when we go. It all looks amazing!

That Halloween Duffy is too cute.

Oh, and my sister went to TL the other day since she was off. So jealous. haha

Hey, sorry I never subbed til now, but I've been reading along! I love your apartment, it's so nice, I really love the buildings in Florida! Most apartment buildings here in CT are so depressing!

I had to scroll through your latest pics of all the Halloween decorations of MK really fast! I kind of want to be surprised when I see them in a couple weeks, I know, I'm a huge loser!

I was so happy that the Halloween decorations were up right before we left! I just wish they could have started the MNSSHP a little earlier...I know all the kids would have loved to trick or treat in the World...it's always so darn cold here and there costumes are usually over winter coats

Yay for TL! I saw a ton of CMs there this weekend and a lot of Europeans/South Americans (speedos and thong bikinis!) I want Halloween Duffy!!! I told my mom she can buy him for me when they come in 2 weeks lol. They have 7 days to clean up Halloween and set up for Xmas..CRAZY!!

Thanks My roommate is kind of anti-Disney even though she works at DTD so the ones we have in the common area are very subtle (fridge magnet is pretty much it). In my room, I have some pictures that aren't hung that are Disney and most of my pic frames are from Disney. My calendar is as well. I also have coasters that are Mickey heads. It's a work in progress but my room at home is another story, you see Disney items on every single wall haha.

Haha..I should have been a warning up..sorry!!!!!! I figured they will be good for those not joining in the fall! I'm still debating if I want to go to MNSSHP next week with some friends I don't really have the $$ but CM tix are only $36 so I kind of hate to not go twice We'll see!!

I hope you had a good week

My week was pretty crazy and we called several parent meetings that were unexpected so I'm hoping next week won't be as crazy I volunteered last night at the school for Parent's Night Out 6pm-9pm. We had 15 kids which was nice and they played games and watched a movie so it was pretty good in the end!

Today I'm going to do some shopping, errands, and go to Typhoon Lagoon!!! Tomorrow, Katie and I are going to USO/IOA! We are still having 90 degree temps with low rain which is wonderful when I look at Cincinnati weather and it's only 70 degrees! This is why I was meant to live in FL!!!

I'M GOING TO MNSSHP ON TUESDAY!!!!!!!!!

I got CM tickets with a CM friend and we're going for just under $40 It will be the first night since school started that I'll be up "late". I'm planning to leave before midnight and probably park at WL shh, don't tell!!!! I'll be doing a report of that party and of course the party on the 30th!

MNSSHP TIX!!

Last Sunday, I stopped at DTD after I left TL and picked put our tickets! I was hoping they would be festive but sadly not. I did like the ticket envelopes!

I mailed mom and dad theirs since they will be able to go before I get off work but they have Goofy and Pluto..no Minnie

TRIP FOLDER:

Sadly, I no longer do binders. We don't take week long trips anymore so I don't see the need in a binder. With all the technology now, I'm saving ink and paper by not printing menus, just the necessary documents that we need. I still made a folder cover! I took the cover from last year and updated it.

FOOD AND WINE!!

Mom sent me the Food and Wine booklet. I'm assuming it was sent because of my AP but I was happy to get it and take a look at all of our options! I've highlighted what I want. My goal is to get one thing from each booth which should be easy since I live here!

MNSSHP OUTFIT

I am not creative and I don't have $$$ to put into a costume so I'm just going to do a Halloween outfit. I found a shirt at Walmart for $5 (sadly I do not fit in the Mickey Halloween one that everyone is getting at Target).

I thought Old Navy had adult Halloween shirts but I guess not this year, it's all for kids and dogs I'm planning on buying a MNSSHP when I go on Tues and will probably wear that for the party on the 30th!

I also got some ribbon from Michaels. It was on sale for .33 each!

You have to have glitter! I got a can of spray glitter from Walmart ($2). If you every want "pixie dust" like at BBB, this is the closest/cheapest you can get to the real thing!!

I'm also thinking of buying some Halloween mickey ears headband. I have the Xmas one so I'm thinking a Halloween one will be good too!

I got the $6 black/orange mickey head bracelet (the ones they sell at the registers) and mickey ears with the pumpkin on the top but they were $18 Not sure I'm going to keep them or return them

MNSSHP was so much fun! I'll be reporting about it sometime this weekend so stay tuned for it! They are having a CM preview for F and W next Thurs so I might go with my roommate since she can bring friends The next 7 days are saying anywhere from 90-92 with 30-50% chances of rain

THIS IS HALLOWEEN!!!!!!

HAPPY SATURDAY DIS FRIENDS!!!

I'm a little under the weather but promised this updated over the weekend so here it comes!!!

On Tuesday Sept 20, my friend "B" and I went to MNSSHP. B is an elephant keeper at AK (her and I worked together at AK for the kids clubs in 2008) and was able to get the discount CM MNSSHP tickets. I wasn't sure if the $40 was worth it since I'm going on Friday with my family but..

IT WAS WORTH IT!!!!

I really was not expecting it to be packed on a Tuesday night but a TON of CMs were there that night so there always seemed to be lines for treats, rides, and character spots. We still had a blast!!!

We got to CR around 5:30pm. We had an ADR at The Wave but ended up canceling it and settled for Casey's instead. It turns out the menu still doesn't appeal to me but at least we got good parking!!

Driving in I managed to get a few pics..

We decided to take the monorail over since we knew we'd be walking back after the party.

We got in and got our bracelets. The CM (a CP) did a great job putting mine on. It always seems that they either put them on too tight or too loose but mine was perfect!!!

B got the shirt from Target, the one that I did not fit into lol. She wore it well...as did several other people lol.

Our first stop was dinner at Caseys! I had transferred $10 from my Visa Rewards and my corn dogs, fries, and diet coke were just under $10..yay for free dinner!!

At that point, I began to panic as my camera only had 2 bars left..eek! I tried not to panic since I know I'm going on Friday but still..geez! I loved the new Halloween cups but back in the day..aka 2008...they did EVERYTHING in the festive'ness but now it's only the cups..oh well, they are still cute!

After dinner, I returned the $18 Mickey Halloween Ears. I decided I could buy something else for that money and my outfit was good enough without them.

After a potty stop, we headed to ride Jungle Cruise to pass the time before the tricks and treats!!!

After the ride, we did the JC treat spot, Pirates spot, and the Splash Mt spot twice

We rode BTM with a walk-on which was awesome!!

We headed to HM next for the treat spot and then ride!

We waited less than 15 mins for the photo of which I still haven't looked at..oops!

After hitting up all the spots in Fantasyland and a few in Tomorrowland, we watched the new Villans show!

After the show, we decided to find Duffy and get a picture!!

After Duffy we hit another potty spot and were shocked to see this pic had no wait! Of course you can see the wet spot from the sink..ugh!

HALLOWISHES WERE NEXT!!!!!

After the fireworks, B was on a mission to find a Ghost Popcorn bucket and water so we stopped at the station hear HM and score!

I was not going to get one and had decided to wait till Friday but I caved and Ghost Mickey came home with me and is now filled with candy lol.

We had 45 mins to kill before the parade so we had a photo shoot!

BOOOO TO YOUUUUUU PARADE!!!!

I did not take my brother's advice when he has told me to stand with my back to the buildings in Liberty Square..ugh! Oh well, at least I'll have Friday to take better parade pics!

I did not get very good pics of this My camera was acting up that night! I blame it on the fact that the battery was quickly dying but that's no excuse! I know what it's capable of...anyways...
