No more single rider on EE?

If the standard queue had a small waiting time they might have closed the SR line because the saw no need to use it. I rode Everest about 18 times total (between 3 days at AK) and never once used the standard queue, it was either fastpass or SR.

I'm married and have used the SR line many times. I just remove my wedding band and I'm golden.

We were there on May 16 I believe and waited briefly in the single rider line. I wish all the major attractions had one!

My oldest son and I used the single rider line last summer. I noticed that closer to closing they closed the single rider line. By then the standby line was very short anyway.

EE seems to be the perfect attraction for single rider. Oddly enough RRC at DHS is not. We waited nearly as long for the single rider as the standby line.

The only time I use single rider is when I am truly alone in line. DH can't ride SM, EE or RRC because they all give him severe vertigo. I ride those alone and use the single rider line for that. I do know there have been cases where people in the single rider line have asked to ride with the person they're in line with. That's not how it's to be used and the CMs are good about using the line properly. The single rider lines really were intended for single riders, not families or couples or groups that just want to get on the ride faster, which I have seen many times.

Honestly, I think the reason they do away with the single rider line is that it takes less CMs to load the ride. They can remove the CM handling the single rider line.

"Several of Walt Disney Worlds most popular attractions offer Single Rider Lines as an expedited queue option. As their name suggest, these lines are for Guests who wish to experience the attraction as a party of one. The Single Rider Line works by filling in any available seats in the ride vehicle not filled in by whole parties waiting in the Stand-by and FastPass lines. Groups can wait in the Single Rider line, but they will likely be split-up as the line fills all available single seats. The amount of time saved by choosing the single rider line will vary depending on how many single seats are available; however, the line will typically move faster than the Stand-By Queue. "

How many people at a theme park are truly a party of one? WDW and many other parks know guests are there in a group. I don't believe a single rider line is truly meant for a single rider. I believe they are meant for people who are willing/wanting or even needing to be a single rider and willing to be a seat filler.

The single rider lines were intended to fill empty single seats in the ride vehicle. Groups entering the single rider line who understand that they will ride separately have every right to use the single rider line and are not going against its intended use.

When the group is split up and ride separately they are each experiencing the attraction as a party of one. They are riding singly. They are single riders.

Highly doubt that there are many many people that actually take solo trips and use these all the time ( plus one person in a family/group that is the only one who wants to ride) so no I wouldn't think so

as far as someone mentioning abuse, agree with pp how the heck is that abuse ? that's what single rider lines are for...and this is how things eventually get out of hand around here

Many families use the SR lines to cut wait times, knowing they won't be riding together, or if only one person in the party wants to ride.

We love the SRL on EE. There are three of us that travel together. Sometimes we use FP and ride together and then DS will get in SRL and ride a bunch of times while grandma and I wait. Other times (usually later in our trip) when we don't care whether or not we ride together, we all get in SRL. We don't expect to sit together. We just want to get in as many rides as we can before we have to go back to real life!!! :rotfl2:

Yes. A group entering the single rider line is willing to ride as single rider. :) exactly what I was saying :)

I wasn't disagreeing, just emphasizing what you quoted for the benefit of others who stated that this practice was abusing the system.

Haha :) I didn't think you were disagreeing. I thought you were helping me out :):) My words aren't always clear :)

As others have stated, single rider line is a nice customer service offering. When we were there, as a family of 3, a couple of weeks ago, we used the SRL. Comparatively if SRL were not available, each time we rode there would be one empty seat. Why not fill the seat? Could you imagine how people would complain if there were 4 empty seats on each train? As far as the cast members running the single rider line, I have not seen a special CM managing only the SRL. There are some really awesome CM who know what they are doing and can move those lines and fill the seats. In fact one was so good on our last trip, I stopped at Guest Relations to let them know. ( I try to do that at least 1x per trip--I figure they hear many more negatives than positives so it is a little way I can brighten someone's day).

Now, if they had a SRL at TSMM, I'd be thrilled. Again as a party of three we have an empty seat when we ride.

My family of four always use the fast pass line. We expect to ride separately. I'm not sure how that's abuse. There are empty seats to be filled and we are happy to fill them.

The line does shut down when the regular line isn't that long AND when there are too many people in the single rider line. That happened to us in December for the first time ever.

the FP line is NOT the same as the SR line.. with FP you still get asked how many in your party. with SR, you will be pulled one at a time to fill holes.

they shut down the SR line on occasion, not the FP line.

DH uses SR on all the roller coasters he can, as I..don't do RC. he also takes my FP to do things like ToT although in that case it's due me being unable to ride ToT for physical reasons.

Haha. Mistyped. Meant the single rider ;). I went back and edited my original post.

I have read that the single rider lines have had to be shut down during busy times because of BTGs bogging them down and giving CMs a hard time about being separated.

Could have well been why. The time I saw it closed was early January.

I agree that it IS a problem if groups enter the SRL with the intent of trying to "sweet talk" the CM into letting them ride together. It should be self-explanatory and I'm pretty sure it's posted that groups will be split up.

When TSMM first opened there was a single rider line, and it was awesome! Those first few months I got on the ride many, many times thanks to the single rider.

Unfortunately it was closed pretty early on (within the first few months of operation) because people didn't like their special snowflakes sitting next to strangers. My DH got lots of dirty looks from people because he had the audacity to enter the single rider line (as a guy no less!) and sit next to their kids. :rotfl:

I used my mom's ticket to get a second fastpass to every roller-coaster/fast ride during our vacation. I would ride it both times using fastpasses then get into the SR line to get a few more go's.
