No more live music outside at PI

I've posted similar thoughts on another thread. There is definitely something not right about PI without the entrance fee.

Just a thought here. Perhaps there is an issue (or a perceived issue) with noise complaints regarding the outdoor bands from the newly opened SSR? I really don't know. Any ideas on this?
Stayed there in May, room overlooking DTD/PI - no noise problem. If you have your doorwall open you can hear a bit, but once you close it - silence. They were very aware of the need for soundproofing.

I too agree that PI doesn't feel right. When we were there (end of May) they had just started the "no admission" policy. Not only did it give the outside a very strange vibe, but it made going into the clubs - which used to be a 'stroll right in' thing - nasty with showing tickets, getting wristbands, etc.

All right, what am I missing? We are not club people, so we rarely visit PI. Do you mean to say you no longer have to pay to get into PI? Someone enllighten me please.

That's correct. You now only pay if you are entering the clubs. It was a test, but apparently Disney liked the results, so my guess is that it will stay that way. :(

OK, thanks. If you don't mind, could you elaborate on the cost of getting into the clubs? Is it a flat fee to get into ALL of the clubs? And do you get some sort of ticket to show at the door of the clubs, or is it an arm band type of thing? I can't believe I am this unaware of how PI works these days. Thanks for the info. :D

No problem mitros. It's $16.95 to get in to a club. They then give you a wrist band based on whether or not you are of age to drink. I you choose not to enter a club, but what something to wet your whistle, you may do so on the "midway", at which time you are presented with another color wrist band to allow you to enjoy all your favorite frozen drinks...ummm that's if they ever replace the broken blenders...I couldn't believe that almost NO bars had blenders...anyhow, I hope they put the gates back up. It's just not the same...

we just got back. when we were downtown we walked through PI cause the little gates were open. they did have a group performing. they also said we could go into one of the comedy shows free only until 9:00. then i think you had to pay. also another when we went back, they had the gate locked again so you could NOT walk through............. we did not go in to any clubs just walked around. oh yeah.......we stayed at asMusic----hello.........no more music at the pool.......what...........we were shocked..it took away some ot the fun......they had music at the outside bar area...............not at the pool...................
