No More A La Carte @ Liberty Tree Tavern Lunch

Darn! That was my go-to TS meal in the MK. I'd get the Colony Salad without the chicken ($6 less w/o chicken), obey gooey toffee cake, and tea, all for about $25+tip. A best-buy.

They did this once before too.....we stopped going and then when they had a la carte we went again.
I only go for the Colony Salad, if it isn't there, I won't be either.

There are going to be a lot of disappointing changes to WDW trips for the next year.

I booked both LTT and BOG not realizing that they didn't have their standard lunch menus. I wonder how many people will get there and be shocked? I can't imagine anyone paying that price to eat lunch at BOG.

I think there are supply issues so a simpler menu is easier to source. (I also think they might be sneaking in changes under the pandemic umbrella because they know we’ll all accept it)

I have read the reduced menus are due mostly to social distancing requirements in the kitchen. Less kitchen staff, fewer menu options.

I was interested in the menu but not now with the AYCE change. That’s a heavy lunch! I noticed a few favorites missing from all of our favorite places include skipper canteen, raglan road, and beaches and cream. We’ve had to move a few reservations around due to the changes.

In some cases that is true. However, I do not like AYCE and would usually get the pilgrims feast, which has the same items as the family style but don’t have to pay twice the cost it is for the AYCE price.

Disappointing news for sure and I am hopeful that it changes by November. We had booked this meal for Thanksgiving but it was of course wiped out when the 180 day ADR's went away. Our main reason for booking a late ala carte lunch there was because most of us wanted that traditional Thanksgiving meal, but my ASD kiddo doesn't eat any meat but chicken and cannot handle the "mushy" texture of those comfort foods like the mac & cheese and mashed potatoes (they gag him). I would be paying the adult AYCE price for him to eat rolls 🙄. Gonna have to think of a back up plan in MK just in case. Maybe the Plaza...

I am actually surprised by how many people here are upset by this. Whenever I have been there for lunch, every table around me has always ordered the AYCE. I’ve actually never seen anyone not order it while I’ve been there.

I've only had the AYCE here once. I really didn't like the food. I think my DH makes such a fabulous Thanksgiving meal, that there is no substitute lol, plus I only want this type of meal once a year and not on vacation. I think it's just personal preference. I like having the option for a la carte, especially for lunch.

That is strange. We go for lunch every trip so that has been 2 or 3 times a year for at least the last 10-12 years. I have only gotten the AYCE once. I see other tables ordering it, but just as many don’t. My DH always gets a burger. I order the pot roast, colony salad or fish & chips & love them all.

I love how everyone has such different experiences. I think part of what we notice is what we are looking for.

When I'm with family or friends I don't really notice what others are ordering because I'm paying attention to my table. Especially at Liberty Tree where everyone get the same thing. When I'm solo I tend to notice others because... well.. there isn't much else to pay attention to when I eat alone.

I got to Liberty Tree every trip - sometimes twice. I always see others ordering a-la-carte. This trip I'll just have to get the ATCE!

Not shocked.

Menus have to be minimized. With less employees allowed in the kitchen, finance issues, possible stocking issues, and less guests it would be stupid to keep the whole menu available. That would be WAY too much food to keep on hand when you are not making nearly as much money as you used to be.

As for LTT... the best known menu option is the AYCTE platter. I bet it is the best selling option to. So for Disney, that is the one to keep. It's simple logic.

Oh no! I love the ooey gooey cake but don't care for the rest of the AYCTE menu, so that's another dessert off the menu for me.
