Hi Barb! Since I'm stuck in my room with a cold (and can't concentrate on studying because of a headache), this seemed like a good time to get caught up.
-I'm so excited to see Jeri and Rob's update from Captain's Grille. The place is definitely a favorite of mine - I've sent in positive updates from breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and clearly it needs to stay in the rotation. Those crab cakes have the perfect amount of filler (almost zero!).
-The Teppan Edo hibachi experience also looks fantastic. I've never felt a huge desire to try TE, but this event would be near the top of my list (if I ate red meat). Yuzu sake, Chilean sea bass, matcha green tea salt, fresh wasabi root, lobster tail - wow.
-Mary's Artist Point review looks wonderful...and it means we picked the wrong signature for our 'safe' meal.
The shellfish gazpacho, Alaskan halibut (which I loved in August), and berry cobbler would've been a perfect meal.
-Very cool that Lori met up with Brenda and Emmy in Disneyland! And at Cove Bar, too - such a great place for a bite.
-Paula and Hunter's Le Cellier update also stood out to me - that duck confit poutine looks phenomenal! I know there are some (justifiable) doubts about Le Cellier's signature status, but they deserve some props for the upscale poutines they've created, IMO.
That's it for now. I need to quit before this thread increases my appetite to insatiable levels.
