Next we received both a travel and an arrival update from Becky (BlovesC) and Charlie.


Becky said, "Morning Barb! Breakfast at Starbucks on the way to a Disney weekend has become a tradition for us, so here's a pic!"




"Charlie gets the classic sausage and I get the artisan gouda, good stuff!"


"And coffees of course!"



"Salted caramel mocha latte for me and pumpkin for him! Let the sugar binge BEGIN!"



Then a little they arrive at POFQ and sent us this update...


"Charlie and I have officially been married for three years as of Thursday and we got these pins upon check in!"






"I am absolutely devasted though that the super colorful, fun comforters at POFQ have been tossed aside in favor of simple white duvets. Come on Disney, if I wanted a generic hotel room I'd stay somewhere cheaper!"




"And btw, they're supposedly ditching the bedspreads for the hospital look at ALL moderate resorts!"



"But anyway, here we are!"




"We have noticed all your live reporters recently have been ridiculously photogenic so we're going to break that streak for you!"

She said, "Friday we went to Epcot for our final time through the F&W booths. First we stopped at a booth we had yet to visit...










"We both got the pineapple fritters...




"These were just okay. We both agreed they would be a lot better with some kinds of dipping sauce."



"Next Rob made his first stop at...




...for the Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon."




"He loved it! It was in his top three of the festival. I wasn't going to get it but on our second time around WS he wanted to stop again and he talked me into it. Here is our second filet...




"I agreed with Rob, this was delicious! A favorite for me too."



"Next we made a return visit to...




"We both got the Hazelnut Chocolate Cheesecake...



"Just as good the second time. Definitely my favorite dessert at the festival."


"We also got the Guylian Belgian Chocolate Seashell Truffles."



"Just okay. Nothing special with these."



"Another return stop next at...




"Once again we got the pork sliders...



"Still delicious!"



"Then I stopped at...







"This time I tried the salmon."




"Loved the salmon, loved the cauliflower puree, but did not love the malt vinaigrette. If that had been left off the dish, it would have been another favorite."




"Next we made our first stop at...




"Rob got the watermelon juice."




"He really liked it and was trying to find out if you could buy a big container of it somewhere to take home. FYI, you could not."


"I tried the chocolate cake...



"I really liked this! No crazy about the passion fruit sauce but I did enjoy the coconut mousse on top. I liked that the cake was cold too."

"Blech! Too much mayo and the pork was really tough. Not a fan. Most of it went in the trash."




"This is it. Our final stop for our final stamp in our F&W passports."

Hello!!

I am lilpig (real name Bobbie) I am traveling with my best friend who happens to also be married to my brother! Her name is Lynda and this will be her FIRST trip to Disney!! I am so excited to take this trip for many reasons. 1. Girl Time! 2. First Trip for Lynda 3. Food and Wine (first time for me) 4. LIVE REPORTING! and 5. We also have Magic Bands!

So the scheduled dining we have is: Cape May Cafe for Dinner. Tusker House for Breakfast. Biergarten for dinner. We also have a fast pass ressie for BOG. We have a plan to eat and drink ourselves around the world at Epcot.

There are other places that I have not been able to check out before and I hope to stop there on our trip. I have a list that I am not going to bore you with

Lynda and I are very silly and carefree people so I know this trip will be a BLAST! Can not wait to share it with you! Oh we will be staying at POP, I have never been there before so I am also excited about that.

Just as an FYI, there has been quite the discussion about this over on the POR FAQ thread on the resort boards. It appears that some of the bedspreads have disappeared and some rooms still have them. One possible rumor is that they are turning the bedspreads into runners for the ends of the beds like they did over at Sports. In the meantime, those without the spreads look so blah!

Thank-you everyone for the fabulous updates! Getting some good ideas for next years vacation.

More updates from Jeri later, let's switch over to Paula (smile4stamps) who also sent us several updates yesterday, including one from her visit to the F&W Festival booths on Wednesday.


She said, "We started in...




"I got the scallops...




"I thought they were just okay. The accompaniments didn't really have a lot of flavor."



"Hunter had to get the pork belly, as his nose has been leading him to that booth all week."



"Unfortunately he was underwhelmed by this one, as it was overcooked."

"The skewer was REALLY GOOD. The empanada just kinda "meh".

...we had the Taco de Ribeye





...and the Rice Pudding."




"I thought the taco was DELICIOUS. Hunter thought it needed a little more spice. The rice pudding was creamy and delicious!"

"While in Mexico, we also came across some mariachis."



"Unfortunately they didn't seem too thrilled to be out there and were not very lively!"

...and this time for food. We had the Lemongrass Chicken Curry."



"It doesn't look like much but it had great flavor and a little heat."

"I thought they were both good. The Kimchi dog had a delayed heat reaction to it! The lettuce wrap was good but hard to eat since they use lettuce you can't actually "wrap" around the insides."

"From the booths we headed back again to the Festival Center for another Culinary Demonstration. This time it really was Hunter's realm though, as it was a dessert demo with John Hui!"

"This time it was an Italian wine. It went well with the dessert."

She said, "Saturday morning before catching the Magical Express, we stopped to get breakfast at...

"Kyle and I both got the Bounty Platter and orange juice."



"Awesome as always."



"We got to the airport and were able to upgrade our seats to first class for a very cheap price. Before going through security, I stopped at Krispy Kreme for donuts. There is not a Krispy Kreme in the entire state of Minnesota, so I always stop there when I am in Florida."






"Since we were seated in First Class, we were served lunch. We started with cheese, crackers and delicious garlic toasts."






"Our entree consisted of some kind of a pizza pocket with marinara, tomatoes and cheese."



"Not bad for food on a plane. I may have also partaken in a few adult beverages, but I did not take any photos." ​

But first a photo that I forgot to include in their first update...





Becky said, "Unintentional FL Gators support in our Magic Bands! Boooooo, we are USF Bulls! Also, why don't they have a purple Magic Band?!



Now on to their lunch, starting with a menu pic...




"We have two signature meals scheduled in one day, feelin' like a baller! Charlie was super excited about this lunch specials menu...one item had his name all over it!"




"Our server Moses was lovely but there was some confusion with our drink order. We both asked for pomegranate lemonade...you know, as in that Minute Maid stuff that's on tap everywhere? Well, he brought us regular super tart lemonade with pomegranate syrup added from the bar. It was ...interesting!"





"He also gave us complimentary champagne for our anniversary!"




"Side note: the hostess misread our pins and wished us a Happy 35th Anniversary...yes, she thought we'd been married for longer than we'd been alive!"



"I ordered the Cobb salad, which is definitely my fave meal in DHS now!"




"So delicious and fresh and only a few bucks more than a counter service meal!"


"Charlie chose the burger and was in heaven."




"The meat was great quality and cooked perfectly. I had a bite and loved the flavor too!"



"I chose the grapefruit cake for dessert and loved it as much as the last time...





but...



Charlie's dessert was SO MUCH BETTER!"



"I was stunned when he chose the cheesecake, but it was a great choice. It wasn't dense or overly rich...just light and whipped and delicate and amazing! I was jealous and he gloated all while eating it!" ​

Hi everyone My family will be live reporting from Nov 17-23. With 6 people hopefully we can post a lot of variety! We are staying at Pop and upgraded our free QSDP to the DDP. So of course I have been obsessing over all the menus so I have a good idea of the QS spots we are going too.

For QS we should be trying lunch or dinner at...

a breakfast at either Pop or AoA
and the last one is undecided, DH liked Cosmic Rays a lot the last two trips though so it may have been moved onto his must do QS list... or we may just end up eating at BB one day.

SciFi dinner
Tusker House breakfast

I know I have four buffets, but for the other stops if there is anything you wish you had seen ordered before but haven't seen any recent pics of (including snacks) let me know, maybe one of us would like to try it!
