"No flash photography please"

Probably been exposed to too many flashes!:rotfl:

Light travels in all directions but not at the same intensity, intensity is the problem. As for the exposure to too many flashes causing what ever problem you think I might have, it most certainly is related to exposure but nothing related to flashes:thumbsup2 again most enjoyable, nothing personal and all fun....regards

On the front, the phrase "Por favor, no la fotografía con flash."

On the back, "Por favor, não há fotografia flash."

In Big Letters!

I always thought light travels in a straight line.... I didn't think it took U-turns. The light seen by a person standing behind the source of light is usually light reflecting off of illuminated objects, in front of the source of light...make sense? Anyways, I don't think one can get blinded, but one can certainly get irritated:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Sheesh, I wish the CMs had spoken up when I was last there..OMG, the number of people taking flash pics on rides this trip was ridiculous!! My sister gets mortified when I do this, but I speak up now. It sounds like it's not a big deal but it really does bring down the experience for anyone else on the ride. POTC and HM were two of the rides with the worst offenders this trip.:headache:

Two of the people I told off were English speaking so they couldn't claim that they didn't understand the "no flash pictures" spiel. I always find myself hoping that the camera gods cause the knuckleheads to drop their cameras along the way.

When you go on a dark ride, it takes a few minutes for the eyes to adjust to the light level. Everytime there is a flash they have to readjust. 2nd grade science class.

I don't usually get bothered by flashes on rides, but last March while my 10 year old dd and I rode PoTC, we were in the 2nd to last row and the row behind us had a mom, a 2 or 3 year old boy and his 2 grandfathers. The entire ride they loudly yelled to the little boy - "Look Johnny, it's a pirate!! Look, Johnny, a cannon" AND they took flash photos constantly! It was all annoying, but manageable, except that their camera was inches behind my back and every time the flash went off it went off directly in our faces :sad2:

I finally turned around and nicely explained that their flash was blinding me and they responded that it was just the nature of picture taking in the dark. I, again, nicely told them that flashes were not allowed, to which they replied "Really, I see lots of flashes going off". I was so frustrated, but didn't want to get into an argument with a group of people while I was with my dd. I just told them that they could as a CM about it if they didn't believe me. It absolutely ruined the ride for me though - mostly because I was blind and my ears were ringing from the constant yelling narration in my ears :sad2:

Flashes can be blinding. They can also cause migraines in some people who are prone to them and have flashes as one of their triggers. For me the flash hurts my eyes and sometimes my head depending. Then there are people like a guy I know who if you flash a camera at him he will get an instant migraine.

A few years ago, flashes never bothered me. Sure, they're annoying but it wasn't anything I couldn't handle. Now, the flashes are really debilitating. It ruins the experience for me if it is close enough - because I will be very ill and have to spend the remainder of the ride with my head down and eyes closed. If it were up to me, I would not ride PotC (most common offender) and risk it. Unfortunately, my grandmother LOVES this ride, is disabled and requires my assistance getting on/off the ride. I feel like the grandmother after getting off this ride, having to sit down and wait for the pain to subside. :sad2:

I'm sorry, the only thing 2nd grade now is the fact that we are still discussing this.:confused3...the flashes bother folks, not me...I get it:thumbsup2

I was listening to audio from the Pirates ride at Disneyland and 2 times I heard the castmember come on the loudspeaker telling guests "No flash photography please". I have never heard that announced at WDW during any ride. Why don't they do it?

Of course, I also thought, what's worse to the story, some flashes going off or a castmember talking on the loudspeaker?

I've noticed several times this summer that Brazilian tour groups are the worst offenders of this (or any general park rule). I go out of my way to avoid being on a ride anywhere near one of those groups. Loud, obnoxious, taking flash photography constantly on dark rides (PotC was stopped twice while CMs made announcements of "No flash photography". The groups would look around and pretend they didn't understand English. *sigh*)

We were at a local amusement park last night with our neighbor. I made a joke to her about "No flash photography". I told her about this thread and she proceeded to tell me she took pictures often on dark rides.

I said what about no flash announcements on almost every ride/show. She didn't know what I was talking about.

We were sitting, waiting for the Spooktacular Laser Blast show and they announced "no flash photography" and both of us brought it to her attention. :lmao:

I think there's just so much going on, ppl just don't listen.

I just experienced the NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY announcement for the first time on Soarin'!! Of all rides.I was getting rather annoyed because it looked like lightning while we were riding it...
It was super bad this past week of people taking flash pictures then looking at them saying OMG..that is a horrible picture..then proceeded to take another..SHEESH

I think everyone would like to have photos to remember their trip. I think they should just make rides with lighted scenes and then there would be enough light to take a pretty good picture without the flash. Why do rides have to be dark anyway? I guess it sets the mood. I would rather it be light, or at least the scene be lit, and get good pictures. I wonder if that would work?

When on POTC when they say no flash photography my husband will repeat it in a deep pirate voice loud enough for the whole boat to hear. In Sept we rode The Great Movie Ride and they said no flash potography at the begining. The part were the bandit goes up to take the jewel and the driver come back a person was just flashing away. The driver walked up to them before getting back on the car and told them not to do it again, no sooner did she get back on they did it again and she had to repeat herself in a toon that I use with my kids when they have done something wrong. Then when we were in the Wizard of Oz part the woman next to me flashed , both the drive and I gave her the stink eye and I said to my DH loud enough for the woman to hear, "I would expect a child not to listen to instruction, but a grown woman, some people just don't have manners." There will always be rude flashers. :headache:
