Mini budget buster - went out to dinner with a friend from out of town. We like to try cool, local places. Well drinks/food turned out to be overpriced for the quality, our server was bad, and DD was the worst behaved she's ever been at a restaurant. *sigh* Our dining out budget is now gone and we still have to go to a friend's graduation party next weekend (at a restaurant). We can definitely afford it, just frustrating to use up our budget and not enjoy the meal at all.

No, no, no.....I wasn't saying you weren't welcome. Sorry.....I think this was one of those "it came out of my mouth before I thought about it" things only it came off of my fingers before I thought about it.

I was just surprised because it was on the no buy list!

Now, if I include everything I spend per month it would be a lot more :rotfl: as many things are NOT flexible.....like the dental bill I just paid, the scouting stuff I had to buy, and so on.

Maybe I am the one misunderstanding and I should include more categories.

Sorry.

Dawn

Yeah I know. I'm not impressed with my ability to spend small amounts of money I'm impressed with my ability to keep pace with what I have budgeted. Maybe I took this wrong but you're not seeming very supportive. Am I not welcome here because I have a larger budget than some?:confused3

Spent on too much this weekend. Indigo (like Amazon but a storefront... does Amazon have a storefront in the US?) had a huge 25% off everything sale... even went so far as to buy DH stuff to give me :rolleyes1 We also went to the Santa Claus parade last night. It was a lot of fun but ended up grabbing McD for the kiddos beforehand and for us afterwards so the 'free' event wasn't so budget friendly.

Thats okay. My husband said he thought it was silly that I had included things that weren't a choice like gas or haircuts (in his mind those arent'a choice) I keep a budget on my own computer so it was easy to just pull the stuff and put it here.

I have actually decreased my grocery budget by $150 from what I have generally spent each month for the past 6 months. I coupon and stockpile and actually use my stockpiles but we eat 3 meals a day 7 days a week out of that (except maybe 1 lunch and 1 dinner out per week) and my MIL eats with us, so my grocery expenses can be high. I seem to be on track to stick to my reduced # this month which would be great.

Oh and my Christmas budget isn't for this month it's for total of Christams spending.

I have found the whole concept of "no buy" to be really helpful too. Even though I have only had 3 so far this month I have saved atleast $20 each of those days by just staying in the office though lunch and not running out, plus since I'm hourly I actually get paid more those days! So I am really enjoying this thread even though for me it may be a bit of a different type of experience than for others. Thanks for welcoming me here! :goodvibes

No spending today. I am exhauseted for some reason and do not feel like doing anything. I did do a little christmas shopping for my mom last night but since that comes out of a seperate budget (the last of the money that was in my dad's checking his savings went into our savings) I do not count it here.
