Nissan Pavillion??

Is anyone on DIS familiar with the Nissan Pavillion in Virginia? We are attending an event there that was moved from another facility. Just wondering how it is?
The site said you need lawnchairs or blankets, etc. Do they also have special areas with chairs?
Any help will be greatly appreciated. We are planning on attending with 10+ teens. I will need all the help I can get !!

Yes, I've been there and will be going in May for the Gwen Stefani concert. It is a nice, outdoor concert pavillion.

You would only need blankets and lawn chairs if you purchased lawn ticket seating (cheap). I have actual seats for my concert--it is an ampitheater type of set up. And then up at the top is the lawn. I don't mind the place but, depending on where you are sent for parking, it can be a nightmare to get out of.

Are the seats covered or are they out in the open?? The web site doesn't say much about the seats.

If you have a ticket for a seat, sections 100-302, then you are in a covered pavilion in an actual seat like you would find in any coliseum/stadium. If you have general admission lawn seats then you are sitting on the lawn and will need to bring a blanket or chair to sit on, they also rent chairs at the facility. We actually prefer sitting on the lawn because during the summer it gets really hot inside the pavilion, in my opinion. But in May the heat shouldn't be too bad. It is a very nice facility.

I agree that it's a great venue. I've been there a few times and have always had Pavilion seats. I have friends that always buy lawn seats though.

Just be warned that Nissan Pavilion is NOT smoke free unless you are in the specially marked section of the lawn seating that is listed as the "family section".
