Night of Joy

Where would you suggest we stand for the castle stage shows. I prefer not to be right in the front or in the middle of the mob. Also, do they clear the park and then let you in right at 7pm?

We were allowed in at 4:00pm that day and given wrist bands. The CMs started clearing the crowds at about 7:00pm, checking for wrist bands and herding people down Main Street. As far as the castle shows, our son and daughter were right up front. My husband and I found a seat at the restaurant across and to the right of the castle (can't remember the name because we've never eaten there). They had large screens set up at the court which we could sort of see, but we were able to hear David Crowder very clearly! I'm sure you'll have a great time no matter where you stand (or sit)!

My experience with Night of Joy :headache:

MANY, MANY unsupervised youth groups swearing, yelling at people and pushing past people in lines. Youth Leaders hanging out in groups saving spots for the concerts. A LOT of very rude ticketholders. I planned a surprise birthday/graduation gift for my daughter and we flew down from NY just for NOJ. We have been part of Youth For Christ events similar to NOJ in the northeast with some of the same acts that performed at NOJ and foolishly expected the same behavior from guests of NOJ. NOT SO. I felt ripped off by Disney because of the ticket price. We were just not able to enjoy ourselves at all.

I don't think I would go again...I just didn't enjoy myself at all and I've volunteered for years with teenagers at Christian "concert" events so I wasn't expecting everyone to be sitting around a campfire singing hymns  but I was expecting MUCH better behavior from youth and adults. The cast members that we saw were overwhelmed and abused by the adult youth leaders mostly from what I witnessed. :scared1: I made a small complaint at Guest Relations but really, what is a few complaints when the highest percentage of people going and paying for their tickets were the ones misbehaving?

I can't speak for someone else's experience, only my own, and as I've said previously, I have thoroughly enjoyed myself and never seen outrageous behavior, at least none different from other festivals or large concert events.

As far as ticket value, I think it's quite a fair price. It's not the most inexpensive ticket ever, but I think for the amount of artists and caliber of artists you get on each night, PLUS the fact you get almost all the attractions of the Magic Kingdom, it seems to be quite the fair price! I mean, 50 dollars for a concert ticket is NOT expensive, at least not in my experience!! Well, I'm used to paying for the "better" seats and not just anything in the house, but still, it's a fair market value, IMHO.

From the poster I quoted, it sounds like everyone was running around behaving like criminals... I'd be interested, if they come back to this post, to hear some specifics..

Depending on how some medical tests go, I'm hoping to be healthy enough to go to NOJ this year. I LOVE :lovestruc:love::lovestruc:love: The Newsboys, so I can't wait to see them in my favorite place in the whole world. Favorite band, favorite place = sheer awesomeness!:banana::banana::banana:

I think one thing to keep in mind in light of the stories heard is that not all in attendance are Christians... and to definitely not judge a Christian by the "horror" stories. Youth group events are notorious for the youth inviting friends, particularly nonChristian friends. And their ears will perk when they're being invited to an event at Disney World, which is unlike being invited to some Christian youth convention where some Christian singers might perform.

That said, I'm greatly looking forward to attending on the 10th. I love TobyMac and seeing him perform at Disney will be priceless. You'll find me in the audience jumping like a nutcase and singing as loud as I can. His concerts are fantastic!
