Nicky's Wish trip 9-20-10

Here is my itenerary. There is alot of unscheduled time. That is becuase we are extending our trip a few days and using the US/IOA tickets during the extended portion. So we will be at GKTW for 6 days, with a 3 day hopper and 3 days left. I am not sure if we will go to Sea World or not. That means we will have to buy another 2 or 3 day hopper if we want to go to the parks on those days or else hang out at the hotel. That is still up in the air. It is also up in the air whether or not we will do MNSSHP, but it is going on a few nights while we are there.

9/20: Limo picks up at 4:30am. Plane lands around 11:00
Check in to GKTW.
Possibly go to Disney Studios or hang out at GKTW
*the reason I want to try to make it to Disney Studios is to meet friends and family there. They are leaving Orlando on the 23rd, so if we don't see them on the 20th, then that is less time to spend with them. Studios has EMH till 10pm that night. If we can get there by 3:00 or so and they let us stay till 10, then its worth it.*

9/21: Breakfast and character photos at GKTW.
Head over to AK
6:45 dinner ADR's at Italy in Epcot
Watch Illuminations after dinner

9/22: Breakfast with friends and family (party of 18) at Chef Mickey
Head over to MK
Nickys 1st haircut (since he lost his hair from chemo) at the barber shop
7:00 dinner ADR's at CRT (for just us 4)
9:00 fireworks. Would also like to see Spectromagic, but I think that overlaps with dinner.

9/23: Breakfast and character photos at GKTW. No definate plans today.
would like to see Fantasmic at the studios (if we get park tickets).

9/24: Breakfast and character photos at GKTW.
Possibly Sea World
Back to GKTW by 7:30 for pirate and princess party

9/25: Breakfast and horseback riding at GKTW. I don't think Nicky has even been on a horse, and Alyssa maybe only once.
No plans for sure, but we do have 6:45 dinner reservations at Coral Reef (Epcot) that we have to decide if we will have park tickets and keep the ADR's

9/26: Check out of GKTW. Head over to the Nickelodeon Hotel & Water Park
Spend day at the hotel. Use the water park and all the things they have to do there.

9/27: Character breakfast at restaurant in Nickelodeon Hotel
Spend day at IOA. Must see is Wizzarding World of Harry Potter

9/28: Spend day at U/S

9/29: Go home

Plan sounds great! The only thing I wanted to tell you is that wish kids do not get to stay for the EMH unless they are staying on Disney Property instead of GKTW. I have read a few TR's where some people were luck enough to get to stay because of a nice CM, but I don't think it is a guarantee. You are only 3 weeks away! You guys are gonna have a blast!!!

To answer a question you had on the main thread...you may want to bring some fun beach towels with you!, but they may be a last minute packing item.

Also, as PP mentioned, you may not be able to stay for EMH...so I would maybe skip the first night.

I have the list thing going too , only difference is I have ours in a report style book from papers i printed here off the board, some of them are sooo fantastic(all) kids are always grabbing teh book and fillign in thier pages (packing list things they want o do per day per place etc ) and after the trip is done i plan on taking all the pretrip planning that we have done in notebooks, the DISboard PTR and TR to save as a journal style , Typos and all.. scribbles and all hehe . when i have it all together i will go ahead and have 2 copies made at staples or whichever place and bind it for each of the kiddos as a memory book of this occasion from start to finish.

there is printables that you can use foro planning, i found a nice report cover for 1.00 that had pockets available in it so i could also put the disney maps that we ordered to have right inside

Just don't forget about GKTW orientation on your first day. Not sure how that works since we haven't gone yet.

I read on the wish trippers thread Nicky is not feeling well. I hope things turn around quick for you. That is fear of mine that dd will get sick right before we leave. (she also has ALL).

Nicky was in the hospital for 3 days with pneumonia It probably would not have been such a big deal if he did not have leukemia, but they have to be extra careful. He was on z-pack and is getting better but just has a lingering cough. We will make sure he gets plenty of rest and lies low for the next couple weeks. He has a couple follow up appointments, otherwise it should not effect the trip

Just wanted to say if you can do the MNSSHP do it. We were there with my daughter (4 at the time) and my niece (9 at the time) and did it and they loved it. They really liked the parade with the headless horseman. Hope you have a great time.

So sorry the Nicky had to be hospitalized! That really stinks, but better to be safe and have him monitored closely! Hopefully he will be feeling better very soon!!

Nicky was in the ER again last night with a fever, but they said he was ok and let us go home. In the meantime, I am also working on getting stuff ready for the trip. Hubby picked up some noise reducing headphones for Nicky at Home Depot. They are just the kind people use when working with loud machinery, but they should do the job. Also I have started setting the clothes aside that I want to pack.

Let me tell you....like everyone else (I am sure) we are soooooooo in need of this trip right now!!

I counted up the change in the kids "vacation piggy bank" they each saved about $80 in change I am glad they will have the extra spending money

Its getting close Talked to MAW wish coordinators today. They have the box of goodies and will bring it over either this weekend or next weekend. We are just coordinating schedules. I made an appointment for Alyssa and I to get mother, daughter mani-pedi's the Saturday before we go. I rarely ever get my nails professionaly done and Alyssa never has, so this is a treat
Took Nicky to the Disney Store yesterday and let him pick out a costume to wear at the parks (and incase MNSSHP works out). He picked out the Woody costume, so he can wear it when he meets Woody

Just a little nervous about the possibility of Nicky getting sick right before or during the trip (since he is just getting over pnuenomia).
I know its out of our control, but still nervous.

That would be so awesome if it works out!!! I really miss working at the store...Halloween was always a really fun time to be there...everyone liked coming in to see the costumes.
