Next DVC was announced?????

Just read over on the DVC boards they announced AKL DVC.

VIKI , you said this would be it.....you gonna buy some more <G>

IF this announcement is true I'm gonna HAVE to get over there to see how the AKL is. I've never been over there so maybe I'll stop for dinner .

I love AKL, not sure that I need to own there but was seriously thinking about dumping my Hilton ownership. I could use those proceeds to buy additional interest.

My Hilton is at South Beach...I have no desire to ever go there (I'm usually in Vegas with Hilton)...more DVC is a good reason to sell!

Dang!! I'm happy for Viki & anyone who wanted this, but I was hoping for CRV. Oh well, I guess I'll go VWL. I love AK, but I used to work at a very nice zoo, so it wouldn't be so much a vacation for me. I bet forest rangers don't stay at WL.

I would really like a place in California. At least something with a DVC-type room and fewer (?) points. I've stayed at all 3 properties out there although I haven't been there since they lowered the points on rooms.

I'm saddened that the White Swan Inn is no longer on the concierge collection, it made staying in SF cheap (free). If you ever need a play to stay there I highly recommend it. I'm staying there for business in March.

We've been members since 98 @ BW-I can't for the life of me understand why they are building there. They are always deeply discounting this deluxe resorts room rates--so that tells me they can't fill the hotel with full rack rate guests--you just don't see this at the other deluxes GF/BC&YC.
I would have liked to see the Grand Californian somehow get DVC-don't know where there is room there though
But it does make sense I guess-there were only 30,000 members when we joined

We won't add points from AKV, but will certainly stay there on points. AK is our fav park. As CA residents, we also want a DLR DVC, and hear that a CA DVC comes next. Now we'll have to wait till 2008 I think, unless they announce a CA version sooner.

We'll just stick with what we own at VWL (our larger contract) and BWV (our smaller contract) and try to stay sometime at AKV on points.

I've never even made it over to the AKL , always thought I didn't want to BUS everywhere and there was nothing else there but......

They say they are going to build additional facilities with DVC there i.e. food ,swim , fitness center and such, Stuff to keep you busy .

Now that I own dvc @bwv I enjoy relaxing at the resort and enjoying the facilities and being AKV will be way over there it could = a nice peaceful relaxing getaway. So I am looking forward to staying and if I can save enough to buy before they stop selling I'm hoping to.


( maybe I should pay off BWV first , but what fun is that <G> )

I've never stayed at AKL, but from my visits (for dinner or breakfast at Boma) I think AKL is one of my favorite WDW resorts. At this point I'm not sure if I'll add-on there (I probably will), but much will depend on the cost, points for rooms, MFs, etc..

One of my other favorite resorts is BWV and I had thought about selling my OKW contract and doing an addon there, but I'm going to have to battle with the issue of 50 years vs. 30 years... plus the possibility of the CV...

Fortunately, I'll have a little time to decide... I don't think AKV will sell out that quickly, especially since it is going to be a sizeable addition.
