Reliability is the problem. They break down way too often and have been in service too long.

DLR
Mark I - 2 years in service
Mark II - 8 years in service
Mark III - 18 years in service
Mark V - 21 years in service
Mark VII - 6+ years in service

WDW
Mark IV - 18 years in service
Mark VI - 26+ years in service

The monorail at DLR is, at best, a mid-tier attraction. At WDW, it's an arguably major selling point for 3 deluxe resorts and an important transportation method.

Yeah...that's pretty
Much the whole cake...

Not only are the wdw trains way more heavily used... The climate and conditions are much harder/more taxing.

I can't think of a single excuse as to why there have not been a replacement...especially since they have tripled the price of the hotels they've served in the last 25 years...

Unless...hmmmm...

Give me the DCA style budget!!!!

Or maybe I should choose my words more carefully. I don't want people thinking I want the original DCA budget. lol

Give me the DCA revival budget!

Ok...but here's where they are gonna suffer the price of the fantasyland project and the current Disney springs..

They can have marginal results with a big "officially unofficial" upfront price tag. The jury is out on springs...but it's not looking too promising.

Along time and alot of hubbaloo for a Gap and an apple store...

So even if they get a "B"...if you stretch it out over an intentionally lengthy 7 years...what does that buy in Disney dollars?

It's all a bit of a headfake these days...so if they're gonna make you wait through the... Can't believe Im saying this... FIVE Star Wars movies scheduled to be released between now and 2019...

It could be another failure to launch. Just warning you.

Prepare to be underwhelmed...

The House is taking bets...

Lots for china...rescue attempt at Paris...nice bit of sunny Cali love for the DL...

And the "jar jar binks experience" at the studios...
Paris is only getting star tours 2 and a restaurant they are focussing on other things there

I see two Star Wars attractions coming. One E or D and a C or B. I expect a similar budget to fantasyland and a restaurant and shops of course. All done by 2020ish.

Then that's not good enough to create a significant new draw and increase park capacity...not unless paired with one or two more additions of equal or greater size...

If its just a little window dressing to sustain the park for awhile...then maybe

Based on everything rumored I see some Pixar kiddie rides coming as well. That's what it would be paired with. Based on what's been strongly rumored is 3-4 pixar rides.

Those spinners are high cap too. Now they're kind of underwhelming to look at... Not that anyone's gonna care if they're Pixar.

I'm sticking to my guns on there (if we get the full budget) being one more E-Ticket or dark ride. They need to have some draw like RSRs to bring people (especially adults) into the area. Though rteetz thinks it's dubious at best, (and he's qualified to speak on this) I think they'll fully develop the concept.

I just don't see how they blow 500 million on spinners...

No strong rumor suggests two E tickets none. I don't see it happening. One at best. The adults will go to the Star Wars E ticket while the young kids will go to the pixar kiddie rides simple as that. DHS has always had a lack of b and C ticket attractions. Star Wars is a large draw put these two together and you have a solid park again. Maybe not the best possible but at least something worth visiting.

They also wouldn't be spinners, we have the RC racer from Paris rumored, a redo of maters junkyard jamboree to woody, and a rumored retheme to the new luigi ride to buzz. No dumbos there.

It just doesn't make sense... I'm sticking to my guns until August or something leaks.

That's the slang term I've seen thrown around. You're spot on about the RC and all those rides coming from HKD and WDS. They're not really kiddie rides either. We'll have to think of a new name besides carnival style rides...

Things have leaked the spirit is the best source next to micechat when it comes to these things. Even Jim Hill says that's what's happening.

Sorry I missed it above, Mater's Junkyard Jamboree is a spinner. Just a cool different type. The carousel also would be a spinner. At least I think...

I believe rteetz. They blew the roof off Anaheim with their formula. They're going to put one good ride in there. A dark or E-Tickets just got to happen if they give it a DCA style budget. If they don't... Well we will go around and around and around...

Hey, can you point me in the direction of spirits Twitter?

I don't believe spirit has a Twitter if he does I haven't discovered it yet. Spirit is probably the most well known poster on wdwmagic

So disappointing... I was hoping he had some secret Twitter account. Thanks rteetz!

Dang, spirit is a jerk. Lee, Marni, and the rest of the gang are way nicer.

All right LockedOutLogic...finally we are disagreeing again!

I just don't believe that they are going to half-a$$ Star Wars in the parks. I think the delays, while partly Disney's typical feet dragging are more for two things (1) they want to get the designs locked up before making an announcement / shovels to the ground, (2) being typically chicken-s&^* execs, they really want to hold off to see the success of the first movie before they sink a $500 million - a billion into park infrastructure for the property.

But I think at heart, they know what a property they have in Star Wars and what potential it has. If done right, it could easily turn DHS into the 2nd most popular park on property....currently it's 4th.

I don't believe it'll be an x-wing spinner and a restaurant. I foresee one major E-ticket, at least two additional minor attractions (one could be a stunt show) and a dining experience.

Spirit is very honest at least no pixie dust coming from him he'll also admit he used to be a pixie duster but things have changed. Articos is another insider there.

Yeah, Articos is one nice guy. I think Spirit seems to have fallen into the trap of being way too negative. There's a balance and he's swung way too far.

I can understand that tho. Disney hasn't been the best lately in terms of the parks. He knows they could be better and they once were. He holds them to a high standard which they should be. One thing he hasn't been negative about is disney cruises.
