Now that I agree with. Oh hey we are increasing capacity instead of building new rides look at us. Now if they released it with something else it would be ok.
I agree with you. Soarin may be the one attraction that Disney really could get people excited about it. The lines can be nasty; Soarin is probably the only one...

Miceage update

Disneyland was supposed to announce a lot lf things during the media event about the entertainment but it was cut last minute. Staggs was limited to a short script.

Things left out

Hatbox ghost is coming

4k projectors coming to Soarin as well as grizzly peak airfield

Fantasyland dark ride upgrades

New abominable snowman and other upgrades

Taste pilots will become a new restaurant called smoke jumpers grill

DCA will get a new marvel coaster after the 60th.

Star Wars announcement at D23.

Of course the new luigi ride. Originally the tires were not supposed to have music and be shorter. Iger after riding it for the first time wanted music and it longer. He also wanted it faster but imagineering told him no. Lasseter wanted the beach balls. Luigis flying tires cost 100 million. RSR cost 300 for comparison. Beach balls were taken out due to safety. The new wifi system will be similar to Paris and Hong Kong.

Pretty reasonable. Hopefully the Marvel coaster thing is real unlike the door coaster we've been discussing for ages.

In regards of the tire ride... Yeah, I can totally see Lasseter being really stubborn about that one. It was expensive, difficult to operate and simply not that good.
I expect all these rumors to be true, which is actually shocking.

Micechat has been spot on as of late pretty much.

Yea, the 60th stuff was incredibly accurate. Impressive.

The thing that got me as I read today's update was just how expensive the tires were. Nearly 100 million? Then another 1 million to add beach balls and sound? I had known WDI had troubles keeping costs down but that's ridiculous. How much longer can the institution survive at this rate? It's had multiple near death calls. They need to be more cost effective and responsible or else their jobs and the storied history could go out the window.

That's what Iger and lasseter wanted so they had to do it quick. Imagineering told them from the start it wouldn't work but lasseter was incredibly stubborn.

Iger made the rounds today only place not spotted was Epcot. He was seen at AK MK and DHS.

According to Joe Rohde he is on his way to Orlando so I would expect he is meeting with the execs for pandora.

Apparently based on how I read it there were two NextGen projects being planned when the one we have started. They were both supposed to happen in some form as well. The second one never happened because the first one went way over budget. The second project? Transportation upgrade... New monorails possibly, they were supposedly looking at other ways than bus. It was all very early planning and they scrapped after looking at how much the first project was going to cost.

Hey where did you see it? I only found it in the progresscity posts mixed with other information.

Yea, he said Disney still had further interest in doing more transportation. I wonder how credible he is?

I think they have and will continue to study the hell out of putting in a prt or light rail type scenario...it would increase efficiency and allow for much better integration of the hotels with the parks...

And lets not forget that while the property is large - the parks and guest areas are not that far apart... Basically a triangle shape as currently situated that has each side measuring 4-5 miles each....

More efficiency and customized options would give customers more time to play with...and you know what that means...

But...big but...public stock - everytime they do a study, they cringe at the costs and order more buses. That's a bigtime tough hurdle to clear. If the "old men" hadnt been in charge until 1984 - you would not have see a monorail in Florida. It's a loser compared to cheaper options.

They probably had the opportunity to get some paid by government grant over the last. 30 years...but Disney always whines when the city/state wants any of the proposed systems to connect to the convention center area and the people in Florida don't understand that all those projects get voted down to keep any decent wage jobs at a bare minimum...

See that's just the thing about the roots. They did a nice social media push and article on inconsequential stuff like the roots. Where's the banner and celebration for the third screen and track? These aren't small upgrades, they're known to beat stuff of this grade to the ground.
Do you not just think this might be them learning something from Universal? Everyone and their brother complained about the length of time from the NFL announcement & the actual implementation, and compared it to the time from announcement to implementation of HP. Maybe they've learned to keep things a little more under their hat, even though it's still being whispered.
