Animal Kingdom. Unfortunately the available area is already taken by a different franchise. We can still have a Big Hero 6 attraction in Japan ;) Or even better, re-theme the entire Dinoland and throw Zootopia in there.
Well Dinoland could be a great fit for the new pixar movie the good dinosaur.

You and I sir are on the same wavelength, I have to admit that crossed my mind lol. Luckily AK's creater is still around to protect it from any missteps.

Though that still doesn't explain Dinoland...

Huge look at to what is going to happen with the massive refurb project at Disneyland Paris

This is amazing news. Being from the UK, DLP is almost on my doorstep but ive now been 3 times and everytime, i dislike it more and more. Im not expecting a carbon copy of the US parks but the cast members are not even a patch on those at WDW for example. They are way too relaxed on smoking and designated areas too.

Just leaves a bad taste for me so any REAL investment in DLP is a good thing

From the looks of it they are really restoring the parks to show quality and opening day condition. Multiple attractions are getting big updates all of the resorts are being redone top to bottom and they are adding infrastructure. I'd love to experience DLP some day.

The overruns from the original budget and lack of funds to plus the park do however.

Indeed, still Rodhe let that monster get built on his turf. There were better ways to execute, but they didn't.

I'm thinking that as bad as the first land was, the fact that it's still there a decade+ later is even worse.

Dinoland aside I think AK is visually stunning and has incredible details. Dinoland may have some cheap theming but it does have a very popular and very good ride in Dinosaur.

I don't disagree the execution could be better but I feel their hands were tied when designing it to an extent. Eisner wanted cheap theming and cheap attractions built quickly and on a shoestring budget. Regardless though the rest of the park has probably the best theming you'll find this side of Tokyo disneysea

I'm hopeful maybe they can tie in the good dinosaur to this area or something.

But Rodhe still had a hand in designing it.

That was what was supposed to have been built along with the ride excavator, which would've featured some interns taking a work train for a joyride. Then the Dinosaurs on the worksite would've come alive. Think BTMTRR with a chase involved.

You can still find references to the orignal theme all over DinoLand if you're looking.

All this was never built, and as bad as that was, it was understandable. Plans change, and the resources weren't available. However, they committed the greater of the design sins. They built crap instead. They didn't design a middle ground, instead they took the easy way out. That to me is unacceptable. Even worse if the fact it hasn't been replaced yet. Still a decade+ latter it exists.

There's no doubt on was done on the cheap, but still, I'm impressed at how well they themed it. There are people that think it's actually built on an old parking lot.

And Joe rohde has talked about how they used an aged concrete technique to do that.
