We aren't planning a trip to WDW for 2017 but I might have to do a quickie just for the EPCOT 35th stuff

In my opinion nothing else is better on property at the moment but I haven't seen the new Star Wars show. I also was 5-6 years old in 2002 so it wasn't old to me

I don't think I'll ever get tired of Illuminations, especially holiday Illuminations. I've seen it at least once a year since 2000 (usually more like 2-4 times per trip).

I agree...the Holiday show ending takes my breath away every time!

I personally enjoy the sheer, unbridled stupidity of minions...like Beavis and butthead for the 7 year old...we watch them all the time

...and that movie made $1.1 billion worldwide...necessary?

I loved using Beavis & Butthead to shut down my brain after studying in college. It made it so much easier to sleep.

Probably. I'm seeing the same thing happening to Ice Age that happened with Shrek. The Shrek series had a new movie every 3 years. Last Shrek movie came out in 2010. This July a 5th film was announced for a 2019 release. I can see a studio sitting on a franchise for X number of years to let all of the turds of the series be forgotten, then bring it back for nostalgia sake.

Wait, wait...Epcot can't be 35 next year because that means I'm going to be 35 next year

On a side note, I will need to get some of the Epcot 35 merchandise, but I'm guessing it won't be out in February when I'm there

Very interesting. I know how much those ancillary cost items matter to businesses like that. Movie theaters only make their money off concessions, so it can't be good for Disney to be selling tickets but no food or merchandise.

It's hard to sell $30 merchandise that you can find for $1 elsewhere. I'm sure that's something Disney contemplated from the very beginning. Probably more surprising is the fact that people aren't eating at the parks. But then again, yeah, it's expensive theme park food.

I remember when it first opened and there were some articles out with quotes from guests and the costs of food was one item a lot of them mentioned - that in that area a meal just costs a lot less (even when eating out) so I am not surprised that has been an issue for Disney

I saw this on the Disney Food Blog. Cinderella's Royal Table, Skipper's Canteen, Tony's and Liberty Tree will all serve alcohol starting on the 23rd. Looks like just wine and beer.
