Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

I can't wait to hope on here and join you guys sometime. Maybe this month is our month!!

We live in apartments still due to DH's job and have moved twice since DS was born already! He's 21 months!! I did do a nursery for him and just moved the stuff and re-hung it each time we have moved. I have not painted any walls for him though.

Depending on when #2 decided to come along we will have moved AGAIN, hopefully out of state with a new job oppurtunity in the coming months. I will do the nursery as best I can but we are hoping to buy a house within the next 2 years max. I always said that I don't want to have a second child until we live in our own house so I can do a full out nursery for the baby. However, I REFUSE to put our family growth/happiness and whatnot on the line for DH's stupid company. He has finally decided to leave so at least now we will be able to settle down somewhere!!!

Congrats everyone ... you don't mind if I stalk you guys, do you?
Stalk away!!!

Welcome to our newest mothers to be! ANd DMickey28-we are here for you and I'm sure if you have a question about anything pre-pregnancy, there is bound to be someone on here that can help, so stay with us!

It sounds like everyone is doing fairly well today! Nobody sounds like they are due anytime in the next week or two, so no baby watching for a little while!

As far as conceiving-it didn't take me long with either baby. Madeline happened the month after I was off the pill and this one was about 6 months and that only took so long because DH was out of town a lot and of course it takes two to tango! ;)

I won't get to do a nursery, I didn't with Madeline either. We are kinda in a temporary holding pattern here in St. Pete. We will probably be moving to Alabama in the next year or so and I am bad about not doing anything (design wise) to a house I feel is only temporary. Besides, the baby will eventually be in the room with Madeline (after probably spending the first few months in the pack n play in our room). I would like to do a mural of some sort on Madeline's wall but not sure if I will go through with it or not. We are going to be doing some renovations to her bedroom, making it a master suite and she will move into our current bedroom. She wants pink walls, but we told her she could only have two since her little brother will eventually be sharing a room with her! :)

I still have MS most mornings. I am getting rather tired of it! I wish now that I had done more Keigal(sp?) exercises too! (if you get my drift!):rotfl2:

Boy chatty on here today.

DD is going to go into DS existing nursery which is pale yellow with CoCalo Alphabet Soup bedding. Here is a pic.... http://www.babysupermall.com/main/products/coc/coc711033.html
DS is graduuating into a bigger bedroom which has to be done over with a new big boy bed. So we have a nursery but DS needs a new room now.

:goodvibes Ann

Sorry about the chattyness. I was trying to avoid my test. :rolleyes1 (Which i've now taken. :headache: )

That is super cute bedding!

I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) in September. Basically my body produces cysts instead of eggs sometimes. We decided to stop trying for 3 months while I lost some weight since that can jump start everything. I was pregnant the next month. It was the only month I ever got to chart. I was really sick the first week I was pregnant and I attributed my temperature rise to that, but by the second week, I already had some MS and terrible heartburn and I knew. I still had to wait a week before I could do a test. lol

I have PCOS too. I was diagnosed about two years ago and in the doctor's words "it will be difficult for you to conceive." Well two days forgetting to take the pill and look what happened. Guess it's different for everyone though. I don't know if it's because of my age since I am fairly young or if my ex just had super potent...you know :rotfl: Too bad he decided not to stick around to see the fruit of his labor

Anyway, welcome to all the new people! I feel like I haven't had any time to myself lately. I have been working so much and when I am not working all I want to do is sleep. I'm tired ALL the time. I hope I get my second wind sometime in the near future. My back has started bothering me too so yippee for that ;) But on the plus side, the MS has started to get better. I can usually go at least a couple of days without getting sick.

Oh, and I decided on Classic Pooh as my theme :goodvibes Maybe it's cliche but it's cute and I love it :)

I did a lot of research about PCOS when I was diagnosed and to me, it sounded like it was all about weight. The women who showed the worst symptoms always seemed to be the heaviest. And by losing some weight, you usually could decrease or eliminate many of the worst. I think age is a factor too.

Classic Pooh is great because it's so pastel and quiet, which I think makes a great nursery--probably the opposite of what mine will be. lol

So I figured out something yesterday. The antibiodics my Dr gave me for my second round are making me sick. Like MS sick all day. I didn't take them yesterday and felt great. I took 2 last night right before bed and I feel yucky this morning. I still have like 15 pills to take. :sad2:

Yuck! Any chance you can call the doc and see if they can change the RX to something that you might tolerate a bit better? M/S is bad enough, but to have to take meds that that make you feel that way is torture, especially when you're pg!

Sarah, hope you are feeling better!

Ok, I have to admit since being pregnant I am addicted to McDonalds Southwest salad. Having a little one who occasionally wants his fries and chicken, got me addicted. I have been trying to eat better since prego and figured this would be a lesser of all evils at McD's.

So what is your fast food addiction when pregnant!!! Come on confess!!!!

OMG Whoppers and Chik-fli-a...and McDs sweet tea. I'm kinda over all of them and trying to be more healthy. When I was eating all that stuff, I could barely keep anything down, so I wasn't too worried about it being healthy.

Are any of you on Facebook? I just signed up and I'm looking for friends lol.

I can't believe I didn't even think of that!
Good idea!

Sorry, long time lurker
I usually stay on a different board
But I wanted to stop in and say that HomeSweetDisney and I must have the same due date
Because I am 15 weeks 2 days as of today

Did they tell you August 2nd for your due date?

Bean burritos with sour cream from Taco Bell are my weakness.

Good Morning girls :)

I think we are going with Natalie Ann. The name just makes me smile:goodvibes

I forgot to add that Natalie is a Disney souvenier and a Birthday gift. We were at Disney for my Birthday and when we came home, she came home with us. I can't wait to tell her in a few years.

As far as cravings go. For my sweet tooth it has been pop tarts and tootsie pops. Which is just wierd. I have also had a thing for mustard and relish. Mmmmm. I have to have my glass of OJ a day as well. If it is a really bad sweet tooth day, I will heat the pop tart in the microwave then add a scoop of ice cream on top. So far that has only happend once. Boy, was that yummy.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!! You guys are chatty... this is such a fun board!!

I love Natalie ANN.. but then again.. I'm also going with Ann for the middle name (Eleanor Ann) so I'm partial :rotfl:

Has anyone else had food aversions? My food cravings change weekly... when I was dealing with MS I lived off of Big & Tasty combo w/ large sweet tea from Mickey D's... hadn't had mc d's fries in over 5 years and that's all I ate for about 3 months... and still lost weight :worship: ... 2 weeks ago it was chick-fil-a chicken biscuits.. and I'd only had one in my life before then :lmao: this week it's Drumstick ice cream cones:love: who knows what it will be next week:confused3 The stranges things for me have been my dislikes, which have stayed consistant... I can't stand red meat (besides occasional hamburgers) and we used to eat steak at least once a week.... also eggs in any form... I LOVE deviled eggs, can't stand them now (they still smell good to me though:confused: ) and lastly (and most unhealthy of all) veggies.... I haven't had a green veggie that wasn't a green bean or lettuce in a salad since August:scared1: I just hope this all goes away after the baby comes.. I miss my steaks and boiled eggs.

we haven't really started on our nursery yet... we're doing a ladybug theme, we ordered the furniture in Jan but it's on backorder until the end of this month so we can't really do much until then... good thing the baby's sleeping in our room for a while, so I'm not stressed too much, just want to get the room decorated (we're renting, so painting the walls is out)... DH is stressing about the furniture, but I figure it doesn't do me any good to worry about it.. she has a place to sleep and that's all that's impt (we bought our ArmsReach Cocoon Sleeper a few months ago)

Hope everyone has a great day!!!!

Hey ladies!! I feel like I've been gone for so long. Every time I get on here, it takes me so long to get caught up, that I don't have time to write!:lmao:

So, here's my labor story:

My mom decided to come spend the night Wednesday so she wouldn't have to be up and here by 6:30 in the morning. She was just walking in the door at 5PM when I had a pretty major contraction. Now I had been having them the night before, but they had gone away around 9AM. I started getting really mad  that I was having these severly painful contractions with no results.

Anyway, I started making dinner and had a couple of more so I finally decided to start timing them. They were coming around 20 minutes, so after dinner, I hopped into the bathtub for some relief. While in tub, they started coming faster, so I figured I had better wash my hair, shave, etc...just in case:thumbsup2 We sent DH to Walmart for diapers for the boys and I didn't have one in the 40 minutes he was gone. So, he went up to our room to watch tv thinking that was that. Next thing I know...contractions are back and 5 minutes apart. After about 20 minutes, I decided to call the hospital and tell them I was coming in.

DH packed the car and warmed it up and I was standing by the door waiting to have one more contraction before we left.....it was a race to get to the hospital before I had another because I was not about to deal with that sitting down.

ANYWAY...getting too long-winded here. When I got settled in, they said I was a "stretchy" 5...meaning I was 5, but they could stretch me to 8 or 9... :confused3 um....that just doesn't sound right to me..:lmao: At 11:30, the doctor (who wasn't MY doctor), finally convinced me that it would go really fast if he broke my water....yeah right. Actually it was my fault. I got into a really good position and got complacent. I really didn't want any extra pain..;) . Finally I figured I had better get checked...if anything it would motivate me to change positions and locations. I was only 8, so I got into a rocking chair and actually got comfortable enough to start drifting off between contractions...I was sooooo tired! His heartrate started dipping so they had me get into the bed and lay on my side...not very comfortable. I was trying to sit up and tell them I was going to walk around when the "push" feeling came on. Doctor came back into room and kind of stood there while I would try to push. It wasn't feeling good with them pulling my legs apart and I was having some trouble. Next thing I know, there were nurses everywhere surrounding me trying to find the baby's heartbeat and shoving an oxygen mask onto my face.

Then, they put the bed flat and threw me on my back and I have to tell you....I am sooooo glad they did that. It was so much easier for me to push and I was able to feel him moving down. At that moment, MY doctor comes running through the door and I was so happy! I pushed a couple of times and I got his head out. Then, when I pushed out his shoulders, I heard a pop and got really scared, but they said he was perfectly fine, thank goodness.

Everyone was so anxious to see how big he was.....how funny that he was only 8lbs 9oz. My doctor said he had a 10 pounder's head though. :lmao: He was actually easier to deliver than DS#2, because he didn't have the hand by his head.

Placenta was extremely big too. You'd think that I would have lost more weight than I did....:confused3 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Anyway....so I did it. I actually went into labor on my own for my last pregnancy, I did it with no drugs again and my doctor actually got to be there. Take away the pain and it's the perfect birth!:thumbsup2

Luca is doing so good. He is absolutely a sweetheart! He took right to nursing, but we had some latch-on problems on one side...combine that with all the comfort nursing he wanted after circumcision, and it makes for one very irritated milk disburser;) . Just waiting on that to heal so it doesn't hurt as bad. I got really lucky and my milk came in on Saturday.

The only thing I could ask for now would be the ability to hold him for the next week with no distractions at all. They are so worth everything we go through to have them!!!:goodvibes

I am wondering how to post a photo of Tessa to share y'all?
copy and paste is just not working for me...:surfweb: I must be as computer illiterate as DH claims I am...

Oooohhh!! Thanks for sharing!!

So how long were you in labor? I can't remember what you said before. You make it sound so easy! lol

Can't wait to see some pictures!!
