Hey ladies!! I feel like I've been gone for so long. Every time I get on here, it takes me so long to get caught up, that I don't have time to write!
So, here's my labor story:
My mom decided to come spend the night Wednesday so she wouldn't have to be up and here by 6:30 in the morning. She was just walking in the door at 5PM when I had a pretty major contraction. Now I had been having them the night before, but they had gone away around 9AM. I started getting really mad

that I was having these severly painful contractions with no results.
Anyway, I started making dinner and had a couple of more so I finally decided to start timing them. They were coming around 20 minutes, so after dinner, I hopped into the bathtub for some relief. While in tub, they started coming faster, so I figured I had better wash my hair, shave, etc...just in case

We sent DH to
Walmart for diapers for the boys and I didn't have one in the 40 minutes he was gone. So, he went up to our room to watch tv thinking that was that. Next thing I know...contractions are back and 5 minutes apart. After about 20 minutes, I decided to call the hospital and tell them I was coming in.
DH packed the car and warmed it up and I was standing by the door waiting to have one more contraction before we left.....it was a race to get to the hospital before I had another because I was not about to deal with that sitting down.
ANYWAY...getting too long-winded here. When I got settled in, they said I was a "stretchy" 5...meaning I was 5, but they could stretch me to 8 or 9...

um....that just doesn't sound right to me..

At 11:30, the doctor (who wasn't MY doctor), finally convinced me that it would go really fast if he broke my water....yeah right. Actually it was my fault. I got into a really good position and got complacent. I really didn't want any extra pain..

. Finally I figured I had better get checked...if anything it would motivate me to change positions and locations. I was only 8, so I got into a rocking chair and actually got comfortable enough to start drifting off between contractions...I was sooooo tired! His heartrate started dipping so they had me get into the bed and lay on my side...not very comfortable. I was trying to sit up and tell them I was going to walk around when the "push" feeling came on. Doctor came back into room and kind of stood there while I would try to push. It wasn't feeling good with them pulling my legs apart and I was having some trouble. Next thing I know, there were nurses everywhere surrounding me trying to find the baby's heartbeat and shoving an oxygen mask onto my face.
Then, they put the bed flat and threw me on my back and I have to tell you....I am sooooo glad they did that. It was so much easier for me to push and I was able to feel him moving down. At that moment, MY doctor comes running through the door and I was so happy! I pushed a couple of times and I got his head out. Then, when I pushed out his shoulders, I heard a pop and got really scared, but they said he was perfectly fine, thank goodness.
Everyone was so anxious to see how big he was.....how funny that he was only 8lbs 9oz. My doctor said he had a 10 pounder's head though.

He was actually easier to deliver than DS#2, because he didn't have the hand by his head.
Placenta was extremely big too. You'd think that I would have lost more weight than I did....
Anyway....so I did it. I actually went into labor on my own for my last pregnancy, I did it with no drugs again and my doctor actually got to be there. Take away the pain and it's the perfect birth!
Luca is doing so good. He is absolutely a sweetheart! He took right to nursing, but we had some latch-on problems on one side...combine that with all the comfort nursing he wanted after circumcision, and it makes for one very irritated milk disburser

. Just waiting on that to heal so it doesn't hurt as bad. I got really lucky and my milk came in on Saturday.
The only thing I could ask for now would be the ability to hold him for the next week with no distractions at all. They are so worth everything we go through to have them!!!
