Hmm.. so how much do little boys REALLY eat?
DH ate the entire box of cereal this morning and said "Hahaha be prepared there will be two of me soon!"
Crap.![]()

I've wondered that myself. My DH eats like a pig (and it goes nowhere---he must have excellent metabolism---its soo not fair) and Caleb has been wanting to eat more and more. He's almost 15lb and will be 4mos on the 26th and is getting to heavy for me to carry around in the carrier---am having a hard time doing it. My newphew is 8 and eats huge meals also. I am scared I am going to have an eater...scary for my food bill![]()

Anyone ever looked for a job while pregnant? I'm not so happy with my school, mainly because I'm not feeling it is the best place for my kids. By the time this little one gets there, I don't know what will be going on there! We got all new administration this year, and I was really close to the old superintendent and principal, so that is part of the problem. I don't like the new guy! So I've been seriously considering moving anyway.
I'm working on my counseling degree, and our counselor is retiring this year. She warned me that they like my teaching style and won't want to move me out of the classroom (not alot of math teachers in MS). Well, the principal came by today and asked me about my progress. I told him I'd finish in March of next year. He told me that the superintendent says he can't get me an emergency license (even though we have one teacher who has been on emergency license for 3 yrs now!). But they don't want me to leave "if" they hire someone else. I explained to him that being a counselor was my goal, and if they hired someone else they would be around for years, and I had to think of myself. I know who they are considering hiring (her in-laws have alot of pull in town) and she very young (mid 20s) and would be around a long time.
Dh is happy-he doesn't like us in this school either. So now I need to get a resume together and start sending it out. I'm hoping there will be an opening at a school within driving distance, and they will be willing to work with me on emergency certification. 2nd best case would be to teach one year somewhere then move into the counselor position. I'd rather move now and get the kids settled into a new school, and the baby in a nearby daycare.
It is just hard to think about big changes right now. I would have to interview pregnant, but the baby will be 9 wks old when the school year starts. So I'm hoping my pregnancy won't have a negative effect on my job chances.
I guess I just needed to write all that down! It has been on my mind all day.

You should see her throw down some food!

So I made a complete idiot of myself at the middle school.
I was explaining how we can give teachers a list of authoritative websites for their students to use on topic specific projects. So while saying this I blurt out, "I have a Master's degree" to which I got a couple of snickers and my manager took over with a different topic before I could put out that fire. So as soon as she was done, I'm like, "okay, let this bonehead explain the master's degree comment." and I said stuff about being trained to find the best sites and something else--I blocked it out.
I'm such a dork--but I bet those teachers remember the, "I have a master's degree"-girl!![]()
Its okay. Blame it n pregnancy brain.

My boss looked at me horrified, but I laughed. I mean I'm 12 weeks, not showing at all and I only knew 2 other people (besided my co-workers) in the entire room. So hopefully some of the women did just chalk it up to pregnancy brain. lolHa! Since you mentioned it: My manager and I went with the PR manager who introduced me as "Our children's librarian Sarah, who is going to be a new momma!"My boss looked at me horrified, but I laughed. I would have! Trust me, pregnancy brain is something I know well. I feel like a drooling idiot most of the time. Like the time I KNEW I paid the cable bill.. Only to have my husband wake me up to ask me why the phone, TV, and internet werent working.
Same thing with the power bill.. I am BRAIN DEAD right now.

I think you're in a pretty good situation to look for a new position. Are there a lot of job openings in the area? For me, in Ohio, it's really hard to fathom giving up any kind of job in education. It took DH 4 years to find something part time.
And I don't understand the emergency license thing--I'm not sure we have that here. Can you renew your current license and get certified to be a counseler? All the teachers around here do everything they can to get extra certifications just in case they need them.
Hope everyone else is doing well! I get to go talk to a bunch of middle school teachers in a couple of hours. I have to try and convince them that having a relationship with me (the children's librarian) and their public library can make things easier on all of us. *sigh*
I will apply for a new license in 2010, when mine expires and I finish my coursework in counseling. There is a big shortage of teachers and counselors here, so alot work on an emergency license. They may be working on an alternative teaching license or adding a certification. We have plenty of teachers out of subject area on emergency licenses, and some not even working on getting that particular certification. One English teacher has been teaching Spanish for 3 yrs without certification, and tells them every year she isn't getting certified (she doesn't want to teach it), but they keep applying for the emergency license anyway.
I don't think it is a matter of them not being able to get an emergency (temporary from Aug until March when I finish my masters) license for me. I think they don't want to replace me in the classroom, and just expect me to stay put. I'm so burned out on the classroom that I can barely stand the thought of one more year, much less years while waiting on someone else to quit and move on. And the person I know they are considering is only in her mid-20s, so she'll be around alot longer than I will.
I never knew teachers had trouble getting jobs until I read it on the disboards! We had a math teacher fired last year, and even the kids were talking about how bad you had to be to get fired from teaching math! He had no trouble finding a job in another district.
Yes. The baby will be 9 or 10 wks old, so she will be able to go to daycare. I went back to work when ds11 was 3 wks 2 days old! He was born in July, and I couldn't afford to take time off at the start of the year. Thankfully, my grandmother was able to take care of him then.

Then I can't think of any reason they could possibly turn ya down. Let me know if you need resume help--I'm pretty good with them--it was part of my librarian Master's Degree program!![]()

I'd be crying too! Dh found out in Nov that Blue Cross was raising his employer's ins. premiums over $200 a month each! His boss didn't even know at the time if his ins. would continue to be free, and he has both kids (soon to be 3) on his ins. I can only change my ins. if I switch districts or in Oct. during open enrollment, so we were screwed. Fortunately, they switched to another company and the premiums went up around $30 instead of the $200. We are holding our breath to see how well it works out when we need them-we still don't even have new ins. cards!
I'm already planning to cry through Grissom's departure on CSI tomorrow night. I'm a crybaby anyway-but right now it is really bad!
I'm so tired tonight. Dd9 had tons of homework, I had stuff to do for my master's class, two of my Calculus students asked for letters of recommendation, and my house is a disaster! I was just off work for 2 wks, and I'm already behind again.![]()
) and with me switching companies to an office a half hour away (I LOVE this company and went back to them in a heartbeat!) and us buying a house that needs a little TLC, we figured me going to school half-time was a good thing for this semester.
