:goodvibes O.K. I have been looking for a sticky that explains to me

1. How many point is costs per night

2. How can I figure out how much it would cost me for a 14 day 1 bedroom stay at AKV

The reason I am looking here is because my dream resort is AK savvanah view :cloud9: for a family of 5 the cost is exorbitant for my family. I am trying to see if it would be more affordable if I went this route, for next trip late Sept- Early Oct. before I decide to book bounceback.

thanks for your patience!:goodvibes

September and October are different point catagories. If you tell us the dates you want to travel I'm sure someone will calculate the points for you.:thumbsup2

Are you looking to purchase or rent points? There is a DVC point chart link at the top of this page. Calculate how many points you will need based on the dates you want. If renting, the cost is usually $10 - $12 per point. If purchasing, depending on the promotion, if any, per point amount is $96 - $104 at AKV.

It sounds like you are looking to rent points rather than buy into the DVC program. If so, you'll want to visit the Rent/Trade board. DVC is an ownership program but many members rent out their points from time to time.

It would be best to familiarize yourself with the way DVC works before you do rent though. For example, the points-per-night are much higher on Fri/Sat than they are Sun-Thu. Generally it takes the same number of points for Fri & Sat as it does for a Sun-Thu stay. You say you are going for 14 days, but if you could go in on a Sunday and check out 12 nights later (Friday morning) you'll save a LOT of money by not booking those extra weekend nights.

Most of the 1 Bedroom units at AKV will sleep 5 so you could go with that size unit. If you provide your dates I would be happy to let you know the total points needed for your stay.

Move FAST!! If you are talking about Sept/Oct THIS year, most of the DVC rooms are sold out.

At the very top of this page just below the Timeshare Store ad you'll find a link to DVC Point Charts. Click on that and you'll find the pointcharts for all DVC resorts.
