1. If I want to purchase addt'l points at a later date, is there a minimum to buy, or can I add only 10 or so?

2. What purpose does the use year serve? We will mainly be going in June. Does it matter what our use year is?

3. Is it correct that you can only bank and borrow points from the year previous & a year ahead? So...if I want to take a large vacation and only have 150 points/year, will I need to not take a vacation for one year, then a large trip, and then another year off?

4. At what rate do the maintenance fees increase? If they are around $600 for 160 points now, what will they be in ten years?

5. Also, if I can stay Sun-Thurs for 135 points now, about how many points do you think it will take in 10 years for the same amount of time?

6. If I join DVC this week, what's the chance of me being able to book a June vacation for this year? Will everything be booked or should it be fairly easy?

Thank you!!!!

Minimum purchase - from any source - is 25 points. (50 if you wish to use Disney financing).

If purchased directly from DVC, the additional contract will have the same Use Year as your master contract unless you purchase a new contract of 150 points. If it's a resale purchase, you may purchase any Use Year you wish. Use Year is simply the time each year when your points are renewed. It also determines banking deadlines and can have implications if you cancel a reservation near the end of your Use Year. If you will travel in June, a June or April Use Year should be fine.

You could bank this year's (2006) points, borrow from your 2008 points and use all of your 2007 points to have access to 3 years worth of points for a trip during your 2007 Use Year.

Historically, annual fees have increased between 3 - 4% per year on average. Some years have seen higher increases and some years the fees even went down. There is a 15% maximum without a vote of the members, but there has never been an increase anywhere near that range.

Point charts (except for date changes for Thansgiving and Easter) have not changed since 1996. However, DVC can change the point requirements if they deem it necessary to maintain balance within the reservaton system. The total points owned at a resort cannot be changed though, so if some nights are raised, others must be lowered to keep the balance.

If you join this week, you should have good availability for June of 2007 - with the possible exception of high demand for Standard and/or BW view villas at BWV and some villa types at HH.

Enjoy! :)

Thank you so much! Looks like we'll be making the call tomorrow to join the SSR DVC! I am so excited and cannot wait to return to Disney this summer (and many times in the future!)
