Hi All,

We just bought into DVC.We are very excited, but need a little help.

I am slightly confused. If you are making reservations at your home resort, can you make your reservations anytime during 11 months out, or do you have to wait for it be exactly 11 months before either Check in date or check out date?

Thanks!
Tammi-Sue

You can make reservations at exactly 11 months out, or less, but not more than that. If you are planning to vacation during a very busy period of time, such as Christmas, Easter, New Year's, President's Week, and so forth, make those reservations as soon as possible. Most of the other times of year you will be able to find something, as long as you aren't fussy. But if you bought at BW or BC, it's getting so that members have to reserve their rooms 8-11 months in advance, because it seems like everyone wants to be able to walk to Epcot. SSR is so large that it's not as important there. :)

Congratulations on your purchase, and WELCOME HOME!!!

You can book at your home resort 11 months prior to the CHECK OUT date of your reservation. So if you are booking a trip from June 1 with a June 10 check out, you can book that reservation on July 10 of the previous year.

And welcome also to the DIS Boards! :)

But also remember that during busy times you may want/need to book day-by-day. If your stay was June 1-June 10, then you can call on July 10 for the entire stay. But you can begin calling day-by-day on June 2. You just tell Member Services that you are filling a longer reservation day-by-day so they will link them or keep them together as one reservation. While this isn't that crucial at the 11 month mark, it frequently is at the 7 month mark. Depends on resort and what room preference you have and what time of year you are going. We've always gotten everything we've hoped for - but there things to learn - and this board is the best place to learn them!

Just to clarify, you can begin day by day calling on July 2 of the previous year...not June 2.
