I am thinking of spending a few days in New York over my birthday in April, can anyone suggest a good hotel? Also I like museums more than shopping so help with which museums would be gratefully received.

:hippie:

When we go in for a weekend getaway, we usually stay at the Sheraton Towers in midtown. My parents love the Novotel which is on 52nd street. Both are great locations.

For museums, you must go to The Met http://www.metmuseum.org/
There is just so much to see there.

We just stayed at The Buckingham this past summer, it was nice. They even gave us a free upgrade to a larger room because it was our DD's birthday.

We did the museums a couple years ago, definitely go to the MET, the Natural History Museum was fun too.

Thanks Ill check them out, New York in april WDW in September going to be a good year next year!!

Do you prefer to be closer to the museums? Mid-town? There is the Museum Mile in Manhattan...perhaps look for a hotel in that section...and if you could give an idea of your price range, #of people, etc., I might be able to help provide some suggestions

If you plan on going downtown by the Statue of Liberty, there's the National Museum of the American Indian. It's on the smaller side. There's also the Sports Museum of America, and if you take the #2 subway into Brooklyn, there's the Brooklyn Museum and right next to it is the Botanic Garden.
