In honor of the first day of spring.. it snowed today. Thank you for that- because we have not had enough of the world's longest, coldest, snowiest winter ever. Winter, you suck so bad.
All I could say (outside of many, many swears that I can not repeat because DIS will bleep out) was "thank goodness in 2 days I'll be in Arizona". I swear it got me out the door this morning to work. Because I was ready to crawl back in bed and cry.
But alas.. I made here to work. Actually did some work and now feel justified in that fact that I need a break to update my Trip Report.
So we came off a Hoopty Doopty Great Dinner and went to bed, ready to wake up to spend our only day in Animal Kingdom.
What I woke up to instead was massive downpour. Like, I needed an ark to get out the door. I already had two of every animal outside my balcony ready to go too.....
We had plans to meet up with Peter and family again.. but everyone in the family took one look out the door.. .and then one look at me.. and said "oh h#ll no".
So we spent the entire morning doing this.......
I mean, it was KINDA like Animal Kingdom, right? Minus Yeti's. Although if I perhaps had the hubby not shave that morning we could have had the Yeti too.....
Sarah was the only one really wanting to go because she really wanted to meet back up with Peter's daughter... and this was our last chance.. but the steady downpour dictated that not even I was willing to take her alone out in that mess.
"And the rain, rain, rain came down, down, down in rushing rising rivlets" (Quick Quiz, what's that from?)
No Piglets in umbrellas came and saved us.. (that song is from Winne the Pooh in case you are wondering about the random reference). So we watched the radar..and around 11:00 decided to make a go for it........
At first, our plan seemed to work. We thought "Sweet, we doged that rain.........." We were so happy that hubby even agreed to GET A PICTURE TAKEN WITH PHOTOPASS without whining.....
In what turned out to be my FAVORITE picture from the trip. Look at that Char smile! We used this as our Christmas Card Picture.
A closer view of the sweetness of this picture.
And without any bribes or narcotic use that makes people make decisions not normally made- hubby agreed to take this picture as well.......
Miracles can happen.
And Charlie has no freakin' clue what the heck is happening to her right now. She is thinking "Why the eff am I pointing to the ground?"
We walked in & got to Pin trade... which is always a big plus in my kids worlds!
Oh, the day was changing right? For the better.. no rain, right?
Um. No. About two seconds after that last picture. The sky opened up again...
And we ran for cover because we had no ponchos. Because I rocked that planning............
We headed right for here....
The inside of there, that is........
To watch It's Tough to Be A Bug....
Because that's an awesome first ride of the day for Charlie. First we scare the daylights out of her dropping her on an elevator...then giant scary bugs.... PARENT OF THE YEAR AWARD goes to... 'me & DH'. "Thank you, thank you so much.. you love me, you really love me"
Aaaaand... it was still pouring outside. And I was still being a giant pain in the rear about spending $7 each for a poncho when THE RAIN IS LEAVING!!
Finally my mother said "for the love of all that is holy- I will buy you all ponchos, because I love you all".
So I said "Cool. Thanks".
Cutest kids in ponchos.. Ever.
Of course Becca's posing again. She asked me the other day how 'one gets an agent'. Lord help me............
Anyways, good thing Grandma's along. Another reason I didn't sell her to pirates- she bought me and my whole family $7 Mickey Ponchos.
(I couldn't afford them after Hoop De Doo & Ak-a-saurus (distant relative to T-rex))
So we wandered in the rain over to here..
Canoe ride Safari (yup..and spectacularly blurry pics because I brought the small camera and not my good one!)...
Ourselves and our ponchos boarded and set off ot find the ark.......
Look at that hot hubby in a poncho...
Charlie really has no idea what's happening to her now.....
Moi.
The awesomest Poncho buyer in all of the world...
And some blurry animal pictures to bore you with....
Did you know hippos are one of the most dangerous animals on earth? I do because Sarah is obsessed with the worlds most dangerous animals (remember the shark exhibit at Nemo) and quotes off facts to me all the time.....
For a reference, this is also how I"m going to look at
Castaway Cay in a few months on my cruise based on my current eating habits...
A tree. Oooh. Ahhh...
This really could be outside my room instead. And I'd have been dryer (but NOT gotten those awesome Christmas Card pics from park entering).
Rhinos..that kinda almost started charging us.. it was a little unnerving....
This was better, however, than our ride in 2011 when we passed one rhino..um... humping.. the other one right next to our safari vehicle.... and having to answer your then 6 & 9 year old's questions on what THAT was. I prefer charging Rhinos to humping Rhinos.. in the scheme of things....
And ANOTHER charging animal that is also not all that friendly....
And the ride ended, as it always does. And it was still raining. And so we decided to run to a late lunch. At Pizzasafari.
I took the oppourtunity to haul out my hidden Mickey book (much to Hubby's dismay) and wander the resturant searching for them. There were a lot in this resturant.
And then.. it was still raining. So we stood in the doorway and pondered life. And then finally decided to head back out and over to the Dino ride for Sarah. This girl LOVES Dinos. (not at all a suprise people).
And those pictures will be in the next update.. probably not for a week or so. Sorry for the cliffhanger. Least it's not really all that suspensful...
Unless you are wondering if an ark really was built and floated down to us...
I can take you out of that misery and just tell you the answer is no.
Have a good, non-snow, filled day!
