I last left you all at lunch. It was still raining & the day had not gone as planned. We decided, in our newly purchased souvenir Mickey Ponchos (courtesy of Gram), to head over to our FP+ for Dinosaur. Sarah has a particular love of dinos & was excited to ride it. However, once we got over there, many in the rest of our party were not excited to ride it. That included Gram, Becca & Charlie.
So we split up and they headed over to do Dumbo Dino (as I call it). And we headed to get our Dino on.
We rode it once & even though I had my pics added to my photopass- it never showed up. Boo.
And Sarah wanted to ride it again. So we did........ (using the FP+ of the ones who didn't go).
Man I look so awesome in that poncho.
By the time we got off it had stopped raining for the day. Yee Ha! That deserves a banana dance!

(who, btw, decided that a dancing banana would equal joy?)
So to recap DIS board emoticons.. we have dancing bananas

and weed smoking smilies....

but important things like cupcakes and dole whips are absent?!? Least we still have my favorite......
Ok. So now that's off my chest... back to the report.
Sarah contemplated spending her money on some dino souvies.... so we had to do our research........
Ultimately she chose this cute, fuzzy little guy.......
Aww, isn't that what everyone wants to cuddle up to at night?
We left the gift shop & headed out to meet up with the rest of the group- still riding rides over in the Dino carnival. I searched out some hidden mickeys in the area. (Hubby once again pretended not to know me)... and then we discussed our next plan... which included FP+ to one my all time favoritest ride evah...........
As expected- Gram, Becca & Charlie wanted nothing to do with it. So off they went to see Memo. (Nemo). Leaving Sarah, myself & Hubby to meet up with the yeti.
Sarah was VERY apprehensive about riding this the first time...now, we know a lot about Everest as hubby likes to watch all the Discovery shows on the mountain... and jokes about climbing it with the girls with our pug dog Eddie as our Sherpa. (running joke in our family as Eddie can't even walk across the room without being out of breath- pug style!).
So I eased her mind explaining the awesome que...and trying to find hidden Mickeys......
Soon enough we were ready to go!
Up the mountain we went........
Ready to conquer it.....
What's around the bend?
Oh no!!!
Down we go (disclaimer- this is not really us).
Verdict- Sarah LOVED it! LOVED IT!
And the ONE good thing about the downpouring rain all day- there wasn't many people in the park.. which meant we got to ride Everest SIX TIMES IN A ROW!!!
Sarah started to work up her courage to ride it hands free.....
And finally- one of my favorite pictures of the trip!!!
Yup, she loved it!
We ended up buying her a frame for that picture to put in her room. Only I ended up stealing it and putting it next to my computer/laptop chair (where I perhaps spend TOO much time) so I can look at it and remember that moment!
Yup, we conquered the mountain this time! And it was awesome!
Rain had stopped but we were done with the park. We had ressies at T-Rex in DD at 6pm and we had to head back to the hotel to change & catch the bus over (we would NOT be making the same mistake as my earlier trip to DD where I attempted to drive there!!). So we said our goodbyes to AK.
We spent way too little time there thanks to the rain..but at least the rain allowed us on Everest 6 times in a row! And so for that.. Happy Banana.
