Oh, she's home. She forgot to fill out the housing paperwork, so now she's on a waiting list. And Bren doesn't go back until the 20th. So we still have a full house. It's the car logistics that are doing me in.:car:

Oh doncha just love the minds of teens? "Yeah Mom i did everything i am supposed to think I'm stupid?"

I hope the waiting list is not too long -- even though i miss my Em if things changed right now i might become bald

Howdy All!

Danielle- Your dd isn't the only one that messed up on the housing forms. A whole university did it here, it even made the news a couple of days. People didn't send in the proper forms, didn't tell the school, etc... They had stories about hours of delays. Good luck to ya'll with that.

Oh, I have a game to play called "Photo Uno". This is how you play:[/B]

I'm sure you've all played the card game Uno. Where you have to match either the color or the number of the card that was layed down. We're going to do the same thing with photos. I will post a photo and the next poster has to post a photo of their own that has something that matches an item in my picture. And so on and so forth.

Make sure you let us know what part of your picture matches the previous one. Let's play Photo Uno! :goodvibes

Anyone interested?

Um are you gonna start it?

Um are you gonna start it?

Yeah I can start Photo Uno, maybe this weekend. The rains are coming in. They finally cancelled swim lessons tomorrow, thankfully. As of 10 minutes ago, we were having them and I know not many would show up with tropical storms winds & heavy downpours.

We are all keeping an eye on Ike. Isabelle was the last bad one here, and another "I" and being this strong already!:scared1:

If you want to watch the rain bands come in, go to weather.com. Use 23666 for your area. You can scroll down the interactive map at the bottom of that page and watch Hanna spin around.:woohoo:

Ya'll have a good weekend and see ya on Monday!

You southern people take care down there will ya.. :grouphug: If you run low on water just stick out the rain barrels.

VA sounds like your up for a Disney movie marathon this weekend.. Maybe a camp "in".

We went to a baby shower today for my husband's best friend. His wife and him are due sometime soon. It was a family party so it was outside and very nice. NO DUMB GAMES!!! She opened her presents casually as people ate and hung out.. Kids running around all over. I can actually say I had a great time..

Tomorrow Anthony has baseball tryouts and all 3 have hockey.. Then while Anthony is on the ice I am taking my kids to my girlfriends house for a taco dinner!!!

That was the best part. I swear those games are such a waste of time.. Just makes the shower LONGER :sad2:

Happy Monday! I hate Mondays!!!

Chris had his first Practice for Fall Baseball over the weekend. Found out he made the Traveling Team!!!! He is :yay: :yay: :yay:

THAT'S the TRUTH! A couple months ago we went to Rick's neice's baby shower, and they were starting the 3rd game when we left after 3 HOURS!!!

Saturday we had my company picnic at the zoo, so we walked all over the zoo (the trams and trains were full), then went to see Dolphins & Whales 3D at the IMAX as part of it. The IMAX was funny, the girls kept trying to "pet" the dolphins and the whales on the screen, and Meagan turned to me very seriously when they were showing the Manatees and told me she HAD to SAVE THE MANATEES... She tells me all the time that she is going to be a marine biologist so she can SAVE the Manatees and Dolphins from extinction.

Happy Monday afternoon! Yeah, ok!:upsidedow

Hanna was a bust here, but at least we got out of swimm lessons and I got to sleep in! Mainly wind, not much rain, which of course we needed. Still fun to hang on the deck/ramp outside & see if the wind can pick up. Poor Krista, floating away and getting blown around!:rotfl:

Glad that there wa a good baby shower, hope the Bear "camp in" went well & momma Bear didn't head over the hill to quiet.

Got a good phone call from Jeff's self contained teacher. She feels that Jeff & the 2 others there in class will benifit from being in the "regular" room for Science & Social Studies. Wow. He hasn't been in a regular room since K. Well first but they didn't do anything with him & he repeated it. And she has seen him shut down when he is overwhelmed and helps work around it, so he doesn't get all negative on himself. WOW! And there will be 3 teachers in there with them with the regular teacher & the aide.

Oh and Krista's bus ride is slowly getting shorter. She now gets home at 4:15 instead of 4:40. Hopefully it will get better cause they get out at 3:15 or so. She is doing well also and has first homework tonight. That should be interesting!

Oh, we named the kitten Stormie, if I hadn't mentioned that before. She is warming up nicely to Chip. As long as you keep your feet off the floor, she will come out of hiding to eat & play. Krista had cleaned her litter box the other day and wihile she was on Chip's bed, Stormie can out and used it. Little things thrill my kids!

Our Bear sure does get around.....

Green-Colored Polar Bears Puzzle Visitors at Japanese Zoo

Green-colored polar bears are drawing questions from puzzled visitors at a Japanese zoo.

Three normally white polar bears at Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens in central Japan changed their color in July after swimming in a pond with an overgrowth of algae.

The sight of green polar bears has prompted many questions from visitors concerned about whether the animals are sick or carrying mold, zoo official Masami Kurobe said Sunday.

"Visitors seem to be shocked by the color, and we are asked every day why they are so green," he said.

High temperatures in July and August and less-frequent water changes because of the zoo's conservation efforts caused an algae growth in the bear pond and safety moat, Kurobe said.

Algae that enters hollow spaces in the bears' fur is hard to rinse off, he said.

The bears are expected to return to their natural color when the algae growth subsides in November, Kurobe said.

Maybe she went there for the "camp in"!:rotfl:

Maybe our girls paths will cross...my younger daughter has been saying she wants to be a enviromental biologist!:)

Sounds like all is going well for the kids Kat!! Good luck with the homework...althought it's probably done by now!

Stormie is a cute name for the Kitten, but I think it should have been named PD!:rolleyes1

Good thing you live so close to the ocean.

Sounds like things are coming along. Glad to hear it. And when the kitty uses the litter box, that's a big :thumbsup2 in my book.

Well Em made it through orientation week without too many bumps and we're pleased with that. In fact she came home to see her counselor on Friday afternoon and begged to be taken back for the rest of the weekend (OMG not at all what I expected from her) Meal times are beginning to bother her as I think i spoiled her and she is not sure how to cook much beyond Kraft dinner & tuna!! I bought her a "1st timer cookbook" and we will look at it together this weekend. Every Friday she will be coming come to see her worker (none of us wanted to start with a new person at school) so we will see how long it will last before she wants to spend every weekend back at school with her roomies?!?!?

She had her 1st classes yesterday and found them both scary, today she has had one and really enjoyed it and thinks the prof is a riot. Cross your fingers and toes that all of this continues working out for all of us.

Jacqueline, great to see that it is going so well for EM.

Nancy, ya never know, I fully expect Meag to manage it, really animals are her first love (other than Mommy) and the one long term interest for her. She never played with baby dolls (she has one, Thomas the anatomically correct newborn :confused3 ), but she has a TON of stuffed animals, animal books, animal figurines, etc.
