WOW...No one posted here all day. What happened...you all go out and get lives or somthin':confused3

Me? we were moving Em into her "dorm room" -- think apartment! What a day that was, up at 6, pack the car and off we went. Room looks great by the time we left she had all of her posters up, her section of the kitchen claimed and filled and had watched some TV (one of her room mates brought one) We came home watched a taped episode of NUMBERS then went out for early supper and waited for her phone call. Both of us crashed by 10. I am still exhausted

Then off to bed...back to school for the older and the FIRST day for the baby.  :goodvibes

And then Mama Bear???? First day on the new job:eek: :scared1:  :headache: :crazy2: :faint:

This is for all of the school kids out there
back_school.gif

And to our new working bear, best of luck :thumbsup2

I went to my sisters too!!:thumbsup2 Man, she outdid herself.....scallops, Mahi Mahi, stuffed grape leaves, key lime pie, yum YUM!!!!:lovestruc

Pool first, and then the cookout.....the cubs and their cousin even out on a play for us (they rescued the princess from the bad guy.....cute :goodvibes )

Then off to bed...back to school for the older and the FIRST day for the baby.  :goodvibes

And then Mama Bear???? First day on the new job:eek: :scared1:  :headache: :crazy2: :faint:
Good luck today, Ginger!

Sounds like the move-in went well. When do classes start. Hopefully she doesn't have too much time to wait...that's when I got nervous...we had 4 days between move in and the start of classes. I got bored and homesick. If class had started right away I think it would have been easier.

Now I'd give anything for 4 days with nothing to do...funny how times change!

Jacqueline glad you got Emily all moved in good. My emily is mad she can't go to school today.. I'll be sure to remind her of this when she goes off to college one day.. :rotfl2:

Wow...she out did this sister!!

Let us know how your first day went Hugh!
I was at my sister's this afternoon. We had a great time! What did you do?

Me, I stayed home:rolleyes1

Good luck for everybody's first day.

Brian humored me today, and came with me to the waterpark at Great America. We have had season passes all summer, but this was the only day we went into the water park (and it's the last day it's open). I told him I was really grateful, because it isn't summer to me unless I've gone down a slide that gives you an atomic wedgie :scared1: (he didn't join me on that slide).

Oh that sounds fun!!! Well, the waterpark part anyway...Wedgie, not so much!

Morning Everyone!!!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!

We go in the afternoon:confused3 Ant goes from 11:45 to 2:52. Nick goes from 1:45 to 2:45. Long day here.. :lmao: Em wants to go too but she doesn't start till the 29th. This is gonna be a long day!!! :sad2:

Our kids start tomorrow. I must have made their summer too much fun, because they are not happy about it one bit!!

Good luck to Nick and Ant!:goodvibes

Thanks for the well wishes gang.
I have only had FIVE phone calls so far and she has only been gone 24 hours.
John being the "sad lil daddy" has already VISITED her once, he was working in the area and stopped in on his ways home. Took her and one of her roomies (who is scared to death to be away from home) grocery shopping.
This week until Saturday evening is orientation week, lots of activities etc(they are even going to a local water park one day)
Classes start on Monday the 8th, she is not real sure about that end of it. John and I went to get the quotes on laptop etc to submit so we can get approval and buy for her before too long.

Oh ok everyone else has to share the 1st week stuff now! I am so glad i will have time to check in more often this has been a horrific summer in this house and i couldn't use puter much.

It was h-e-double hockey sticks!!!!:guilty: :sad2: Alllll sorts of wild stories to tell already...but too tired to tell them now )between the new job and the 3 hours of filling out all the papers the cubs brought home for me - WHY do they need to have each emergency contact form filled out 45 times????:confused3 )

Thanks for all the good wishes ! And the hugs help a LOT - will have a ton of whack stories for you this weekend!:lmao:

I'm with you on the emergency forms. I think it would be cheaper and easier to make copies to have in the health office, front office, classroom, etc, than to have people have to fill out the same card numerous times. Not to mention that the parents of my students have all already filled this form out in the last few months when they registered for kindergarten. I was gettin' the stink-eye when I asked some parents to fill them out again, but that is what the principal asked for.:confused3

Ducky- I posted to you "elsewhere", but :cheer2: for our college babies. Julia survived week 1, including a class in an un-air conditioned room on a day when it was 108 degrees (Fahrenheit, of course, otherwise, it would literally have been the class from heck).

I'm with both of you on the forms!:scared1: What's with the total lack of coordination between the fdferent poffices at the schools???!!!!

I'm glad it seems to be going well so far. It's good that they are keeping them busy. I'm sure the start of classes will go well for her too. Sounds like Mama Duck has done everything she can to make sure she has everything she needs in place.

UGH! The FORMS FROM HEDOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS!!!

It's the same freaking form about 10 different times, every year!!! I have even more because of Chris's food allergies. It's ridiculous. Why not just have you fill the forms out idf something has changed. Or better yyet, you have to register for the website private access every year, why not just have the forms on th ere...then all the teachers and staff can access it much easier too...ok so the 1 0r 2 families who may not have internet access would complain...then they can continue to fill out the mountains of forms.

Can ya tell i am tired of spending 3 hrs on a holiday weekend filling out forms??? Vent Over!!!

Danielle, i'm glad Julia is adjusting well to college!

How's Mama and Papa doing with out her home?

Well yesterday must of been a curse day. I agree about the forms. Especially for the Kindergardeners. I filled all that stuff out at registration and then you have to fill it all out again..

Okay, I must live in the right place, cause we did a one page form in kindergarten, that they download into the school system computers. Then every year, they mail me a copy of it to check for changes to addresses, phone numbers, meds, etc and I just cross out the old and write in the new, take it in along with my money to registration, and voila, no more paperwork. We haven't moved or anything in the past 2 years, so I just signed the bottom and paid the money.

Sounds like you certainly do live in the right place!:thumbsup2
Or at the very least, there aren't total Bozos running your School District!!!

Congrats to all the new college kids, new Kinders (and Dwheatl with new stories for us!)

Sorry it was a rough start Bear. Our big deal news was the partners (brothers) big fiight her on Thurs and saying they were disolving it and end of work at the end of Sept. A tad scary since I was off Friday and the holiday on Monday. They seem to be talking again, but lots of changes going to happen if they keep on. (one of them is getting me to be organized. Chip ahd a good laugh over that, and I kinda do hope it happens. Though I have spent tons of time trying to find regular stuff each day that I have put away neatly) :rotfl:

Paperwork... At least it hasn't been to bad this year. Jeff had recorder, chorus paperwork, and the normal emergency form to fill out along with the school behavior sheet. Not bad, but I know there is more to come!

Krista's school had a meeting with the principal today. Which is cool. Seems to be a better school than I had thought. classes are smaller and they have a lot of community help. It is still a bit scary, considering they got out at 3:15 and she wasn't home until after 4:30. Hopefully that will change some! She gets car sick easy so that won't be fun if that happens!

Umm...lets see, swimming started again, having 4 days off from all work was blissful, but icky to come back.

Oh, I have a game to play called "Photo Uno". This is how you play:

I'm sure you've all played the card game Uno. Where you have to match either the color or the number of the card that was layed down. We're going to do the same thing with photos. I will post a photo and the next poster has to post a photo of their own that has something that matches an item in my picture. And so on and so forth.

Make sure you let us know what part of your picture matches the previous one. Let's play Photo Uno! :goodvibes

Anyone interested?

The copies for the office/nurse/teacher drive me the most nuts...I keep fantasizing about buying that school some good, old-fashioned, carbon copy paper. Sometimes the old "technology" IS better! Glad your daughter made it thru the first week ok and even toughed out the heat.:thumbsup2

SOunds like you need more hugs so here ya go            Hope today is better!

Thanks!!!:goodvibes

 I'm loving all the hugs - and they are much needed! Today was even wackier (is that a word, Twin?) than yesterday!

Glad the schools are looking up.Sorry to hear about the job looking down - sounds painful dealing w/ fauding brothers.
Hope it works out ok.

Danielle, i'm glad Julia is adjusting well to college!

How's Mama and Papa doing with out her home?

Oh, she's home. She forgot to fill out the housing paperwork, so now she's on a waiting list. And Bren doesn't go back until the 20th. So we still have a full house. It's the car logistics that are doing me in.:car:

I may just pass this on to my district. Someone's using their noggin.

I know! I said, "Has anyone heard of a little thing called an NCR form?" That's the ones with the carbon paper right in them, as most of you probably know.

And yes, wackier is a word. So is whacker, but it doesn't mean more whack, which it sounds like your day was. Sorry about it.

Oh yeah there are, but at least they got the PAPERWORK portion right!:rotfl:
:lmao: :lmao:

I'm glad things are looking up with Krista's school. i know you were worried about that. Good luck with the job situation...doesn't sound like a very comfortable work environment.

I'm still up at 1am...Semms there's a snoring, rolling bear in my bed and he's not lime green:scared1: He's actually Human, but sure sounds like a bear!

I need sleep!

I tried to cause trouble on the CB, but got tired of wading through all the political threads.:headache:
