Woo! The bears are back from their busy/crazy/fun weekend in the mountains!!! We hiked our furry you-know-whats off!!!! We did several big hikes that I wasn't sure the little cub was up to....but he was (he left his Aunt and I in the dust!) We didnt see any of our cousins, even though the rangers had kind of scared us that there were a lot more of them out than usual. (My little cub was cracking us up - the rangers said to talk or 'make noise' as we hiked to let the bears know we were coming - so as we hiked he clapped, and clapped, and clapped. ...but maybe it worked, no cousins! )
It was really, really pretty up there (Skyline drive....our view was of the Shenedoah Valley - BEAAAUUTIFUL!!! Esp at night all lit up!) I recommend it to any and all!

And now I will add the heating pad to my achy back and sleep!

Sounds like an awesome weekend, VA!!! I remember doing Skyline drive as a kid..it is so pretty. I'm glad you didn't get up close and personal with any of your cousins....sounds like the little cub's noisemaking worked.

Good news Bad news from the DUCKY this morning: Emily finally saw a doctor and they are gonna begin to adjust her meds Bad news seems the transfer to the facility closer to home might not be happening after all. Doc says she is gonna look into what has happened and we will go from there! Please keep all fingers (and paws too) crossed for us. My poor lil duckling is about fit to be tied now it has been 10 days since she was admitted and she stil doesn't feel any better.

Wow! thanks for posting! Since it looks like the cruise may be a no-go...this might be an affordable replacment. So much for skipping WDW this year! Let us know if you hear more.

I'm sitting here waiting for 5pm to see what if anything is announced. I don't think we can swing it even if it is true...If it was later in the year maybe, but I can't see being able to swing it in the first half of the year.

Sorry to hear about the Cruise not looking good...DH saw the bounceback deal and considered it briefly....till he saw what the rack rates were for a cruise

My DH was all a-GO and then I lookedmore closely at the dates...just not sure we can work with them . Especially since he's probably going to have his foot surgery at the begining of the year - that means 3 months down.

Thanks it is 24th for us BUT we are still commuting back and forth between home & hospital so we spent the day between arguing with Doctor and what-not so we ate at a little cafe for salad and dessert.

What a great deal on the WDW thingee .. looks like our trip for next year is off. Now before you come down hard on our medical system you need to know that the facility we are trying to get Em into is PRIVATE -- it will cost us around $12,000 to get her into the 8 week programme that all of us figure is best suited to her needs.

Now the DUCKY household needs to figure out how to get blood from a stone and make this work out
