:thumbsup2 Cool and congrats!!!! Welcome back!:goodvibes

Wow! You must be soooo excited about your trip!!!:yay:

My DH was all a-GO and then I lookedmore closely at the dates...just not sure we can work with them . Especially since he's probably going to have his foot surgery at the begining of the year - that means 3 months down.

Well see....

I am so excited!

I miss you guys! :grouphug:

Nope, Now It's Monday....yuck!
yep....:guilty:
I'm with ya there, Heather!
...me too...:sad2:

Thanks it is 24th for us BUT we are still commuting back and forth between home & hospital so we spent the day between arguing with Doctor and what-not so we ate at a little cafe for salad and dessert.

What a great deal on the WDW thingee .. looks like our trip for next year is off. Now before you come down hard on our medical system you need to know that the facility we are trying to get Em into is PRIVATE -- it will cost us around $12,000 to get her into the 8 week programme that all of us figure is best suited to her needs.

Now the DUCKY household needs to figure out how to get blood from a stone and make this work out :confused3
Hope it works out for you guys.

:grouphug: I'm sorry that you have to cancel your trip. Sounds like you are doing the right thing by getting Em into the right facility for her.
I hope you had a very Happy Anniversary.:lovestruc

Hi! That's great news that you paid off the trip!!!
It will be a long drive, but WDW is worth it!!!

 I am sorry to hear that your trip is being postponed and that Em is still struggling. I don't know how your medical works, do you not carry insurance to cover private programs?? I agree, 12,000 is a LOT of money, that's a tough one!

Hang in there Ducky! I know it is different in Canada than it is here with the medical, and I won't knock it for you, I am glad that you have coverage.:goodvibes

I hope Em is better and you are doing the right thing. Do you know when they want to start the new place or when an opening is? Disney will always be there, but you & I now how long it takes to get stable and the fun of keeping it that way.:headache:

big hugs to all of you!

Just a quick note to let you now that it is Tuesday now, late day and we have fall! got some good color here after last years blah browns.
'
How is you trees looking and how much under the snow are some of you?

Thanks for the kind words everyone, it helps to know that i can turn here and get an understanding ear or 2. Every night is such a heart-wrenching experience as we peel her off of us so we can leave after visiting hours are over. I just feel so BAD!

here is me trying to give a short description of our medical system:
EVERY Canadian citizen is entitled to free basic medical care (not including dental or Eye). No cost for doctors or hospital care or specialists. 2 of my nephews were born VERY early and spent an incredible amount of time in the ICU in a children's hospital at NO COST.

Next thing though is drugs: you can get coverage through work if you want or pay. same thing with dental & eye care. AND anything above basic hospital room size (you know like private or semi-private room) also requires extra dollars.

So why do we need to pay over $12,000 for EM? John works for himself and as such we have NO coverage!!! If we waited for a "regular" room she would be here at home for between 1-2 YEARS since there are only 10 "ward" beds per programme. If we pay for her bed -- getting a semi-private room -- she has to wait "ONLY" 6-8 months.

gonna leave the ticker up for a bit just in case we find some money somewhere!

Big      to you Jacqueline! Being a Mom can be so dang hard, even tougher when you really have no control over the situation! Just remember I am keeping all of you in my prayers!:flower3:

I understand much better, and thanks for the info. I will be crossing my finger that you will come across extra funds! Of course you have to do what is best for your kids, but it is disappointing, I know.

So who is having turkey for Thanksgiving? I'm not sure if I even want turkey. :confused3

You inspired me to get out the camera and shoot a couple of trees here. It just irks me that people say CA has no seasons. They're just mild ones, that's all. Here are 2 trees just outside of my classroom.

My sister is cooking, and I am REALLY looking forward to turkey. Brian and I are still doing Nutrisystem, and I'm looking forward to a day off on TG.

Awesome pictures, Danielle!

Wow it looks so beautiful Danielle. And I see you have swings :rolleyes1

Have a good weekend everyone. We have Hockey all weekend. Surprise Surprise. LOL

So we got word last night that Emily is getting discharged this afternoon. Yippee no more daily drives to and from the hospital or dinners at the coffee shop in the lobby. BUT now i am the primary caregiver until she is stable. She will be entering a 6 week out-patient crisis programme starting on Monday morning and i will become the cab-driver back and forth everyday since she has severe paninc attacks on the bus. I am happy to be getting her home where it will be easier on all of us but nervous that i am the person she will be leaning on all the time now. DUCKY has become somewhat unstable over these past 3 weeks herself doncha know.

Here's hoping everyone has a glorious weekend and gets some time to do even a little something that is just for YOU!

Jacqueline, I am so happy to hear that Em is getting out today! Hope the weekend is a nice relaxing one for you all, and her new programme goes well!

I'm so glad Em is coming home. At least she will be more comfortable and you won't have to do all that traveling. I know that this brings on a whole new set of challenges for you and John, though. Please, please, please try to take time to take care of yourself too!

Hope things so well w/Em Jaqueline. At least she is home.....

Good luck with your girl. :flower3:

:wave2: to everyone. Thanks to those who commented on my tree pics. I especially love the trees with yellow leaves. The leaves are very delicate, and flutter down like snowflakes. Nice when we have these 80 plus degree days.
